Palm Is Back, Except This Time They’re Making Earbuds

Some of you might recall that way back in the day before smartphones were mainstream, Palm was actually kind of the first to create devices with huge touchscreen displays. However, we suppose the company was probably too ahead of the times because the concept never quite caught on until much later, but by that time it was too late.

That being said, it seems that Palm is still very much alive and well because the company has since officially announced their latest product – the Palm Buds Pro. These are a pair of true wireless earbuds that come with noise-cancelling technology and three microphones per earbud designed to help improve its audio quality.

There are built-in touch controls and it features an ambient mode, and according to the company, offers up to 24 hours of total battery life. The earbuds are also IPX4 rated which means that they should be more than good enough to survive a sweaty workout session and a quick wipe down.

That being said, Palm is entering a very competitive market, although at $99, we suppose it is relatively affordable enough for people to consider giving the brand a chance. The Palm Buds Pro can be pre-ordered now so head on over to Palm’s website for the details.

Samsung Opens Up Tizen OS To Other TV Brands

While the competition for the smartphone platform market space has pretty much been decided, the smart TV space is still very much open to competition. For the most part, TV manufacturers use their own software for their own TVs, although companies like Google have been attempting to try and standardize it with Android TV.

That being said, Samsung is hoping to give TV manufacturers an alternative as they have announced during the Samsung Developer Conference 2021 that they will be opening up its Tizen OS to other TV brands. This means that smaller TV brands who don’t make their own operating systems for their TVs will now have Tizen as one of their choices.

This Tizen TV Platform Licensing service will not only allow these manufacturers to use Tizen to power their smart TVs, but will also give them a chance to promote their devices at major external events, as well as access various streaming services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, and more.

Samsung isn’t alone in offering their own platform to third-party brands as other brands like LG have done something similar in the past, but like we said, Tizen will now be an option for other brands to consider, although at this point in time it is unclear who has taken Samsung up on their offer.

Razer Launches New Enki, Enki X Gaming Chairs

Last year, Razer announced their first gaming chair in the form of the Iskur. They later followed up with a slightly more affordable variant called the Iskur X, and now it looks like Razer is further expanding on their lineup of gaming chairs with the launch of the Enki and the Enki X, although it seems that these chairs might have been designed with different ergonomics in mind.

For starters, the Enki’s chair design doesn’t come across quite as aggressive as the Iskur. The cushion is a good example of that, where the Iskur favored a more bucket seat-like design, the Enki seems more like a traditional office chair. Razer claims that the cushion is made out of softer material to help with optimal weight distribution.

Also given that it juts up less than the Iskur, those who might like sitting cross-legged in their chairs might be able to do that with the Enki. The Enki also features 4D armrests, or 2D if you opt for the cheaper Enki X.

As for pricing, what’s interesting is that the Enki is priced similarly as the Iskur X at $399. This means at this pricing, it boils down to personal preference in terms of aesthetics and functionality, while the Enki X will be priced at $299.

Two New South Park Movies Are Coming This Year, Sort Of

Let’s face facts. The 1999 South Park movie, Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, is one of the best movie musicals ever. And in the 22 years since its release, while its creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have made plenty of South Park, they haven’t made another movie. But that changes later this year, in a weird sort of way.
