Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy The Definitive Edition Set For November 11 Launch

Earlier this month, Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy The Definitive Edition following the rumors that the company was planning on launching a trio of remastered titles of some of their earlier GTA games. However, the company did not state when the game will be launching.

However, Rockstar has since announced that the game will now be launching the digital versions on 11th of November, and the physical versions on the 7th of December. According to Rockstar, the game will be launching on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The company did previously state that they are also planning to launch on mobile devices, but that will be coming some time in 2022.

For those who are learning about this for the first time, the trio of games are Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The games will feature upgraded and improved graphics, and that it will also feature the use of GTA V inspired modern controls.

We have to say that while the games do look slightly dated, they do look a bit more modern so if you’ve never played any of the titles or if you want to revisit them, they might be worth looking forward to. You can check out some of the differences and upgrades in the video above.

Satechi’s New USB-C Hub Can Also Fit An SSD

As more manufacturers create laptops that do away with traditional USB ports in favor of the newer USB-C standard, those with USB-A accessories and devices will have to resort to using USB hubs or deal with adapters. If you’re going the hub route, then maybe Satechi’s latest USB hub could be of interest to you.

We say this because while USB hubs are a dime a dozen, Satechi’s latest hub can actually accommodate an SSD. Dubbed the Satechi USB-C Hybrid Multiport Adapter, the hub comes with an M.2 port that will allow users to attach a SATA SSD to the hub. This means that not only can the hub support multiple USB-A and USB-C accessories, but you can use it as an external drive of sorts.

Satechi obviously doesn’t include an SSD with the hub, you’ll have to buy that separately, but at the very least it gives users options. Also, as The Verge points out, the hub will only allow users to access the SSD at USB 3.0 speeds which tops out at 5Gbps, so you won’t actually be able to take full advantage of the SSD’s speeds.

However, it is rather convenient to have a hub that has a built-in SSD instead of having to lug around an extra external drive in addition to the hub, so depending on your needs, some might find this useful, while others might find it a bit slow. Satechi’s USB hub is priced at $90, which is not cheap for such an accessory, but if you’re keen you can head on over to the company’s website for the details.

Apple Says MacBook Pro’s Notch Is A ‘Smart’ Way To Give Users More Space

One of the controversial changes Apple made to the MacBook Pro was to introduce a notch design. This allowed the company to stretch the display to the edge, but at the same time users weren’t really a huge fan of the notch which eats into part of the display. However, this was a necessary inclusion in order to house the laptop’s webcam.

Apple has since defended the design of the notch where during an interview on the Same Brain podcast, Shruti Haldea, one of the managers for Apple’s Mac lineup and who was part of the MacBook Pro’s presentation last week said that the notch was a “smart” way to help give users more space.

According to Haldea, “What we’ve done is we’ve actually made the display taller. Like on the 16-inch notebook, you still have a 16.0 active area on the diagonal in that 16:10-inch window, and we just grew the display up from there and put the menu bar up there. We just kind of moved it up and out of the way. So it’s a really smart way to give you more space for your content, and when you’re in full-screen mode, you have that 16:10 window, and it looks great. It’s seamless.”

Whether you agree with the decision or not it seems like the notch is here to stay for the foreseeable future. In fact, recent rumors are claiming that the 2022 MacBook Air could adopt a similar design.

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra renders point to a questionable change

If leaks are anything to go by, the “Ultra” models of Samsung 2022 devices are the ones to keep an eye out for. The Galaxy S22 Ultra could be so far removed from the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus/Pro that it might as well be called the Galaxy Note 22 Ultra. That distinction might actually carry over to the … Continue reading

Resident Evil's Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine come to 'Fortnite'

Epic Games’ fondness for Capcom continues unabated. The game developer has added legendary Resident Evil characters Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine (aka the “master of unlocking“) to Fortnite, complete with numerous nods to the zombie-slaying franchise. Chris and Jill have alternate costumes that make nods to their appearances in Village and Nemesis, while the Back Bling offers three shades of Resident Evil’s life-sustaining herbs. There are themed pickaxes and even a “brolly stroll” emote making fun of everyone’s least-favorite fictional corporation.

The outfits and equipment are available to buy in separate S.T.A.R.S. Team and S.T.A.R.S. Team Gear bundles. The Resident Evil packs are particularly timely drops given Halloween and the hordes of “Cube Monsters” in the current season, and we won’t be surprised if they lose some of their early luster. Still, this is a Fortnite gaming crossover that makes sense — Chris and Jill are already well-dressed for a bitter fight for survival.
