Are you not a fan of ads in your YouTube videos? On desktop, there are ad-blockers that are readily available, but on mobile, it’s not quite as easy as downloading a browser extension. Thankfully on Android, there is an app called YouTube Vanced that pretty much blocks ads and even in-video integrated sponsor messages.
Unfortunately, it looks like the app will cease to be available for download. In an announcement by the YouTube Vanced team, they have revealed that the app will be discontinued and that the download links from their website will also be taken down. While the exact reasons behind this decision were not revealed, posts made on Reddit and the Vanced Telegram channel suggests that it was done for legal reasons.
Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it’s something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.

In a way it’s not surprising especially given how long the app has been around. Considering the fact that the app is actually a modified version of the official YouTube app, we imagine that YouTube probably wasn’t too happy by this, especially since it gave users access to certain YouTube Premium-only features like background play, picture-in-picture mode, and so on.
That being said, there is some “good” news. According to replies to the original tweet, the app will continue to work, so for those who already have it installed, you’re good. However, the developers do note that there is a chance that it could stop working one day due to the fact that eventually it will become outdated, so that’s something to keep in mind.

It was initially rumored that Apple could launch a new Mac Pro this year where it would feature the use of the company’s Apple Silicon. However, last we heard, it has been pushed back to 2023, and now according to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, more details about the computer have emerged.
According to Gurman, it seems that Apple’s Mac Pro refresh could end up using an M2 Extreme chipset, or at least that’s what Gurman thinks it will be called. As noted by Gurman, Apple did mention at their Peek Performance event last week that the M1 Ultra will be the company’s last chipset in the M1 series.
This means that it is currently the most powerful chipset in the M1 family, which suggests that either Apple will use multiple M1 Ultras in the Mac Pro, or as Gurman claims, the M2 Extreme. Gurman also states in his report that this might be one of the reasons why Apple delayed the launch of the Mac Pro to 2023 instead of launching it this year.
He writes, “Holding off on launching a new Mac Pro until the M2 line is ready would make sense. That’s because low-power M2 Macs are likely to hit before the first Mac Pro. It wouldn’t be a great marketing exercise for the M1-based Mac Pro to drop after M2 machines, but stranger things have happened.”
Many have wondered how Apple will approach the Mac Pro refresh. This is because currently, the Mac Pro is Apple’s most modular computer, so it will be interesting to see how Apple might approach this concept with SoCs like the Apple Silicon.

At the start of the pandemic in 2020, many countries and industries were forced to temporarily halt their operations in a bid to help curb the spread of the coronavirus. This ultimately led to the global chip shortage that we know today, and while things were supposed to improve, it looks like that has hit a speed bump.
This is because over in Ukraine where a war is happening, two companies – Ingas and Cryoin – have stopped their supply of neon gas. For those unfamiliar, neon gas is essential in the production of semiconductors. Given that both of these companies are responsible for providing about half of the world’s neon gas, this is a huge stepback in terms of chip production.
According to the companies, they say that the ongoing war has led to the destruction of critical infrastructure, and as a result, they have been forced to shut down their operations. While there are obviously other companies that supply neon gas, the fact that half of that production is now gone (and we don’t know for how long), it means that companies will need to get their supply from other companies which in turn could create a massive backlog.
It could also lead to prices of neon gas going up even higher than before, where due to the pandemic, prices went up by 500%, so we imagine that it could get even more expensive. It is unclear how big of an impact this will have on consumers yet, so only time will tell.

We get that not everyone is good at gaming or certain games, and it can be a frustrating experience to play a game in which you find yourself losing the majority of the time. As such, it’s not surprising to find that people are always on the lookout for cheats/hacks that will give them an edge in the game.
Such is the case with Valorant, where according to a report from Bleeping Computer, it appears that attackers are taking advantage of gamers looking for Valorant hacks to hide malware in the description of their YouTube videos. These videos were created to advertise so-called aimbot cheats where there is a link in the description that will supposedly let gamers download the cheats themselves.
However, instead it seems that these links actually end up downloading the Redline malware which will be installed on the computers of users who run the executable file. For those unfamiliar, Redline is one of the more popular malware around when it comes to stealing passwords and credit card information found in browsers.
It can also access cryptocurrency wallets and also your computer and steal information like usernames, IP addresses, and so on. While YouTube does have certain review guidelines in place, it appears that they’re pretty easy to bypass so the next time you see a link in a YouTube description, do be careful, especially if it involves you having to download an executable file.
