OPPO Find N3 Flip Takes On Galaxy Z Flip 5 With Borrowed Feature From OnePlus
Posted in: Today's ChiliOPPO shook up the flip phone scene last year with the Find N2 Flip, marking its foray into the foldable category beyond China and now, it’s upping its game with the Find N3 Flip, sporting a fresh design and even some OnePlus-inspired touches.
This globally launched device bundles Hasselblad camera branding upfront and even brings the iconic Alert Slider, borrowed from OPPO’s in-house OnePlus team.
The Find N3 Flip retains its 3.26-inch vertical cover display. While it’s no longer the largest in the block, the interactive “mini-apps” including WhatsApp, X (previously Twitter), Google Maps, Spotify, and Google Calendar are a nifty addition. These mini apps can be accessed on the outer screen, alongside 3D interactive pets, upgraded from 2D, and a collection of wallpapers and widgets in folded mode.
Inside, the users can find a 6.8-inch foldable AMOLED screen boasting a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. OPPO’s zero-gap hinge design also makes the crease barely noticeable. According to the brand, a durability test was able to grant a lifespan of 400,000 folds — And before I forget, this baby also offers water resistance with an IPX4 rating.
Performance and Cameras
Fueling the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 processor, a strong competitor against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. A 4,300mAh battery with 44W wired charging, capable of a 50% charge in roughly 23 minutes, stays consistent from the Find N2 Flip. The camera game is strong with a Hasselblad-tuned setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultrawide sensor, and a 32MP telephoto sensor. Fold the phone, and the FlexForm mode adjusts the interface.

Twitter, rebranded as X, is bringing political ads back to its platform for the first time since 2019, the company announced on Tuesday. The move comes ahead of the 2024 presidential election and Twitter claims it is hiring employees to expand Twitter’s safety and election teams.
Not many movies could be re-released in theaters after 30 years and still make a dent at the box office, but not many movies are Jurassic Park. This past weekend, Universal Studios celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Steven Spielberg classic by re-releasing it in 3D on over 1,200 screens. And while it didn’t quite…
It’s been nearly a year since Meta announced at Connect 2022 that it would give its weird Caspar the Friendly Ghost-esque metaverse avatars some legs to make them appear slightly more human. The day of reckoning is almost upon us as Quest Home avatars now sport extra limbs in the latest beta version of the Quest software.
You won’t see legs on your avatar when you look down, as UploadVR points out. They’ll only be visible in third-person or when you’re looking at a virtual mirror (much like in many first-person shooter games). This makes sense, as there’s no leg tracking option on any current consumer virtual reality system. It means Meta doesn’t have to worry too much about having accurate leg animations instead of, I don’t know, wacky QWOP-style physics?
In addition, it seems your avatar’s legs won’t crouch in third-person view when you bend your knees or sit down. That could make things a little awkward when you’re trying to maintain eye contact (as much as that’s possible in VR spaces) with another user.
Meta Quest v57 PTC finally adds legs to your Meta avatar 😀 pic.twitter.com/3dzuuppp6e
— Luna (@Lunayian) August 29, 2023
The legs are not in the VR version of Horizon Worlds as yet, though you should see them in the mobile and web versions if you’re one of the folks testing those. Curiously, Meta said last year that “legs will roll out to Worlds first” before making their way to other avatar-friendly experiences. UploadVR also notes that Meta hasn’t publicly updated its software development kit for avatars, so external developers using that toolset can’t play around with legs in the company’s virtual spaces yet either.
This could all come to a head next month when this year’s Meta Connect takes place. Perhaps the company will have more to say about its virtual legs then. One thing we know for sure about the event is that Meta will reveal much more about the Quest 3.
