For almost two decades and across generations, the Kiner family has helped shape the sound of Star Wars animation—and now with Ahsoka, they, like the former Jedi, have made the leap into the live-action side of the galaxy far, far away. As Ahsoka brings its season to an end this week, we sat down with the Kiners to…
NASA’s mission to a metal-rich asteroid is back on track after a minor setback. Psyche is now all set to launch on October 12.
Spooky season is here and discovery+ knows you’ll be wanting to enhance your horror-movie binge with true-crime and ghost-hunting reality shows. The Warner Bros.-adjacent streaming service has plenty to offer in that department, but it’ll now cost you a few more bucks to get your fix.
We’ve got so much news! First, Hex & Co.—a board game cafe and after-school program with three locations in New York City, is unionizing! Workers are asking people to sign their petition in support of their organization, as the owners are (currently) refusing to voluntarily recognize their union.
Another day, another streaming service price hike. Those who sign up for the ad-free Discovery+ plan starting today will now pay $9 per month, up from $7. The ad-supported plan isn’t changing in the US, though, as it will still cost $5.
There’s a similar price hike in Canada, as the ad-free plan is going up from $7 CAD to $9 CAD. Those north of the border will need to pay extra for the ad-lite plan too — that’s increasing from $5 to $6 per month.
Existing subscribers will still pay their existing rate for another month. The price increase will be applied to their account on their next billing cycle on or after November 2.
It’s the first time that Discovery+ has increased prices on monthly plans in the US and Canada since the service debuted in the countries in January 2021. The price hike “will allow us to continue to provide can’t miss-stories in the food, home, relationships, true crime, paranormal genres — plus so much more,” Discovery+ said in a press release and an email to users.
Along with generating more revenue from subscribers, Warner Bros Discovery may be using the price increase to push customers to switch to a Max subscription instead. Max includes all of the Discovery+ content and much more. It’s a pricier affair, though, with the base ad-supported plan costing $10 per month.
We’ve seen many streaming services increase prices in recent months, including various music services. The Disney+ premium and Hulu ad-free plans will become significantly more expensive next week. Netflix, meanwhile, looks set to increase prices again after the actors’ strike ends, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Samsung has announced the Galaxy S23 FE, expanding on the discontinued Fan Edition series, which was paused in 2022 following the release of the Galaxy S21 FE release. Priced at $599, it positions itself as a mid-range option, bridging the gap between Samsung’s budget Galaxy A series and the high-end Galaxy S series. Notably, it comes in at a lower cost compared to the $799.99 Galaxy S23.
The Galaxy S23 FE boasts a 6.4-inch 1080×2340 OLED 120 Hz display, which is slightly smaller than the 6.6-inch screen found on the S23 Plus. To lower the costs, the device is equipped with last year’s Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The SoC is still a powerful one that powers devices like the Motorola Razr Plus and the Honor Magic Vs foldable phones.
In terms of photography, the S23 FE features a triple rear camera system featuring a 50MP wide lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto zoom lens. The latter offers a slightly lower resolution compared to the S23’s 10MP zoom camera. The front camera is an 8MP shooter, a lower resolution than the S23’s 10MP front camera.
An addition to the S23 FE’s features is reverse wireless charging and the inclusion of a telephoto lens. The device is equipped with a 4500mAh battery, an upgrade from the Galaxy S23’s 3900mAh capacity. The device gets 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage options.
Similar to the S23 series, the S23 FE supports wired charging at a speed of 25W, though the adapter needs to be purchased separately. The device will be available in six colors at launch, including mint, purple, cream, graphite, indigo, and tangerine. However, the latter two colors will be exclusive to Samsung.com. The Galaxy S23 FE is set to hit stores on October 26th.
