Aitana, The First Spanish AI Model, Is Earning Thousands Monthly

The Clueless, a Spanish influencer agency, has ventured into the realm of artificial intelligence to create its own virtual influencer, Aitana, who is now recognized as the first Spanish AI model. Frustrated by the challenges posed by human models and influencers, such as egos and high costs, the agency sought to establish a more reliable and cost-effective alternative.

Diana Núñez, co-founder of The Clueless, said that the inspiration to create Aitana arose from the escalating expenses associated with influencers; The agency aimed to reduce reliance on human influencers and inadvertently “created a monster” (a beautiful one, as Núñez describes).

Aitana’s development involved several months of experimentation with different looks until the agency found the winning combination.

Aitana has amassed 138,000 followers on Instagram, where she is portrayed as a digital creator. Despite the revelation that she is an AI creation, many followers continue to express their affection for her. The key to Aitana’s success lies in crafting a relatable personality that fosters a genuine connection with her audience.

Financially, the venture has proven highly lucrative for The Clueless, with Aitana generating an average monthly income of €3,000 ($3,300) and, on one occasion, reaching €10,000 ($10,900). The majority of this income comes from social media ads, and Aitana has also secured a role as an ambassador for a sports supplement brand.

While the agency has faced challenges with real-life models, they do not envision AI alternatives completely replacing them. However, Núñez envisions a future where followers could have personalized experiences with Aitana through virtual reality glasses, emphasizing the need for respect and affection in treating the virtual personality as if she were a real person.

Aitana is not the only AI influencer in the industry; other virtual models and influencers, such as those from Brazil and LA, have gained substantial followings on social media. The emergence of AI influencers raises ethical debates surrounding technology, labor, and human control, highlighting the complex dynamics of this nascent industry.

Bungie confirms Destiny 2 expansion delay after team layoffs

Bungie has officially delayed the forthcoming Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape, until June 4 of next year, according to a video posted by game director Joel Blackburn. This delay has been rumored for a couple of months, ever since the company laid off an unknown amount of staffers working on the project. The expansion was originally supposed to come out in February and will act as an end to the game’s main storyline.

Bungie, however, says the expansion’s delay is just because it “needs more time to become exactly what we want it to be,” going on to note that staffers are polishing the title “to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision.” To that end, the company’s rejiggering its release calendar a bit to ease the burden of the just-announced delay.

Season of the Wish, the final season in the game’s calendar before it moves onto an episodic model, starts tomorrow and will now include more content than previously anticipated to offset the delay. Starting in February, there will be weekly progression-based quests called Wishes that offer unique rewards. Bungie’s also moving the Guardian Games up to March with a renewed focus on class vs. class combat. Finally, in April players will get a two-month content update called Destiny 2: Into the Light that will act as something of a bridge to The Final Shape.

The forthcoming expansion wasn’t the only title slapped with the delay hammer after those layoffs. The studio has also pushed back the release date for the extraction shooter Marathon all the way until 2025. This is a rebooted IP for Bungie that first came to Macs all the way back in 1994.

As for The Final Shape, the expansion will include new dungeons, new maps, new character classes and much more. You’ll also get a final bow wrapped on the story, for those who play online shooters for the narrative arc.

Anker Cyber Monday deals: Save up to 36 percent on chargers, cables, power banks and more

Anker makes some of our favorite tech accessories, and while they’re usually affordable, for Cyber Monday 2023, they’re even more so. Right now Amazon is hosting a big Anker sale with discounts on cables, chargers, power banks, and hubs. Discounts are ranging up to 40 percent off, so this is a great time to stock up on these useful gadgets, whether you need to replace a lower wattage wall charger, or snag a portable battery pack to juice up your phone when you’re out in the world. Here are Amazon’s best Cyber Monday deals on Anker devices.

Anker Prime 100W USB-C Fast Charger

Anker’s Prime 100W fast charger is great for when you need to charge multiple devices at once. It has two USB-C ports and a USB-A port, with a maximum output of 100W when using two ports at once. That means your devices will charge up pretty quickly. It’s compatible with most popular smartphones, including the flagships from Apple, Samsung and Google, and is strong enough to charge your iPad and MacBook.

Anker USB-C to USB-A hub

If you just need a simple way to add four USB type A connections to your laptop, this Anker hub could be what you’re looking for. It connects via USB-C and offers four ports for thumbdrives, radio dongles, wired keyboards and other accessories. It works with Windows, Macs and even iPads, with no driver installation required, and supports data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. There’s even a generously long, two-foot cable so you have more leeway to arrange your desk how you want. The list price is $20, but Cyber Monday takes 35 percent off, making it just $13.

Anker Prime 67W USB C Charger

The 67W Prime charger from Anker is another fast-charging option for multiple devices, though it’s a bit less powerful than its 100W sibling. For single devices, it’ll max out at 67W, while charging two devices at once will be capped at 65W. It’s compact, at about half the size of Apple’s MacBook charger of the same wattage, and has three ports: two USB-C and one USB-A. It plugs directly into the wall, with two prongs that fold away for easier storage when it’s not plugged in.

Anker Prime Power Bank 200W, 20,000mAh

If you want your devices charged as fast as possible, the Anker Prime Power Bank 200W is the one for you. Anker says this portable power bank will get your device from zero to 10 percent in just 5 minutes, and can get a 16-inch MacBook Pro to 50 percent within 40 minutes. This power bank also comes with three ports (two USB-C and one USB-A), making it compatible with a wide range of devices. It comes with a compact 100W charging base that can recharge the power bank to full capacity in an hour and 15 minutes.

Anker 313 Wireless charger

Amazon Prime members can save 30 percent on one of our recommended wireless chargers. The Anker 313 wireless charger stand is just $14.40 instead of $20 for subscribers. It doesn’t include a wall plug, so you’ll need to supply your own. It also tops out at 10W for Android phones and only delivers 5W to iPhones, so it’s not the fastest. But it can charge in landscape or portrait and for less than $15, it could serve as an extra place to drop your phone and power it up.

Anker 333 USB-C Cable 3-Pack

You can never have too many cables, especially since they always seem to go missing. Anker is running a deal on a three-pack of 100W USB-C cables, meaning they support fast charging. The pack comes with three sizes — 3.3-foot, 6-foot, and 10-foot — and they should work with most popular smartphones, laptops and tablets. They’re wrapped in braided nylon, so they should be pretty durable, too.

Anker Nano Power Bank, 5,000mAh

Anker’s Nano Power Bank is both adorable and convenient. The 5,000mAh portable charger has a built-in USB-C connector that folds away when you’re not using it, so it’s easy to toss in a bag. It maxes out at 22.5W, so while it may not be the fastest charging option out there, it’ll still juice your devices up pretty quickly. Anker says it will get an iPhone 15 to 43 percent charge in 30 minutes. It comes in five colors, but the Cyber Monday deal is for the Shell White version.

Anker Nano Power Bank, 10,000mAh

The 10,000mAh Nano Power Bank offers faster charging speeds and more power storage than the aforementioned version, plus bi-directional charging. Anker says it can bring an iPhone 15 from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes, at a maximum output of 30W. It has a USB-C and a USB-A port, and a short USB-C cable that tucks away when you don’t need it.

Dyson Cyber Monday deals for 2023: Save up to $250 on cordless vacuums, plus the Airwrap for its lowest price yet

It’s Cyber Monday and Dyson is celebrating with deep discounts on a wide variety of cordless vacuums and related products, with a sale that’s basically an extension of its Black Friday offerings. The highlight is $250 off the V15 Detect Absolute stick vacuum, which is now $500 instead of $750. This is actually a better deal than the company presented for Black Friday.

The V15 boasts an integrated laser light and a dust particle counter to show you just how much dirt and grime it has picked up from your floor, which is great from a cleanliness perspective but bad from an “out of sight, out of mind” perspective. We really enjoyed the vacuum when we tried it back in 2021, touting its superior cleaning abilities and calling it “reliable, powerful and habit-forming.”

The V15 Detect Absolute also includes a laser-powered optic cleaner head and a handy LCD on the handle that displays the level of dust particles rummaging around the floor, along with battery life and other important metrics. To that end, you get around an hour of use per charge, with an eco mode to conserve battery life and a boost mode to do the opposite. Of course, you can also convert this little bud into a stubby handheld for hard-to-reach areas.

If $500 is just a bit too spendy for a vacuum, Dyson is also holding a sale on the V8 Absolute, bringing it down to $280 from $520. The motor isn’t as powerful as the V15, but there are plenty of other bells and whistles. This is a lighter model than the V15 that ships with two cleaner heads, with a battery that gets 40 minutes of use per charge.

Finally, Amazon is selling the Dyson Airwrap for $480, instead of the typical asking price of $600. This hair styler features a powerful motor that constantly moves air around, so there’s a reduced risk of accidental follicle damage when compared to rival products. This set comes with several accessories, including two different barrels, a smoothing brush, a round brush, a protective case and more.
