Ooni pizza ovens are 20 percent off for Black Friday

Black Friday kitchen deals have brought some of the best discounts we’ve seen to Ooni pizza ovens. That means you can snag one of our two top choices for a home pizza oven for much less than usual. For example, Ooni Karu 16 Multi-Fuel pizza oven is available for $519, down from its typical price tag of $799. This model is convenient because it can use wood, charcoal or gas to cook your food, it’s big enough to fit a 16-inch pie and it has a built-in thermometer for better temperature monitoring.

If you’d rather not prep your pizza in the great outdoors, then the Ooni Volt 12 Electric pizza oven might be more your speed. It’s on sale for $719 instead of the usual $899. This is our top choice this year for an indoor pizza oven thanks to its quick heating and flexibility for fitting pans or other baked items into its 13-inch interior. It’s also flexible on location, since the weather-resistant materials mean it can be used outside too.

At the scorching temperatures needed for good pie, you don’t want to mess around with the wrong gear. Since Ooni is also cutting the prices on accessories, this is a good time to stock up on other essential tools, like a baking stone or pizza peel. And if you need the ingredients to kick off your pizza journey, Ooni is also taking 20 percent off orders of its dough and up to 50 percent off other grocery items. The Black Friday offer for Ooni goods will be available from today through 11:59 pm local time on December 2.

Black Friday fitness deals drop the Fitbit Charge 6 down to $100

Black Friday promos are in full swing now, and that’s brought many of our favorite gadgets down to their lowest prices of the year. Case in point: the Fitbit Charge 6, which is down to a record low of $100 right now. It’s a top pick in our best fitness trackers guide in part because of its comprehensive exercise tracking capabilities and its built-in GPS.

The Charge 6 has a few things going for it. With the new model, Fitbit added a more accurate heart rate sensor, the ability to pair with exercise machines over Bluetooth and a physical side button to aid with menu navigation. If you’re a YouTube Music Premium subscriber, you can also use the device to control YouTube Music playback.

Carrying over from older iterations, the Charge 6 offers comprehensive tracking for 20 discrete exercises, with built-in GPS for activities like running and cycling. It also retains the design of the Charge 5, which in this case, is a good thing. The fact it’s not a smartwatch means the Charge 6 is comfortable to wear and offers a battery that will last you for several days instead of just one at most. The full-color AMOLED display is easy to read and looks great, even outdoors. Other notable features include support for contactless payments through Fitbit Pay and Google Wallet.

The only downsides to the Charge 6 are that Fitbit doesn’t offer Apple Health integration and that some data and features are locked behind the company’s premium subscription. However, if you’re looking for a fitness tracker that can basically do it all, the Charge 6 is one of the best options right now.

For those looking to spend less on a fitness tracker, I’ll mention that Amazon has also discounted the Inspire 3. It’s currently $70, down from $100. Fitbit’s entry-level fitness tracker is a good option for those who don’t mind bringing their phone to their bike rides and runs as the device lacks built-in GPS tracking.

If you’re looking to save money on other tools that will help you on your fitness journey, be sure to check out Engadget’s best of Black Friday deal roundup. There are more than a few fitness-oriented gadgets on that list, including Theragun Mini 2.0, which is currently $50 off.

Amazon Black Friday deals discount the 2024 Roku Ultra to $79

Whether you want a new streaming device to upgrade an aging TV or you want to outfit a new projector with one, Black Friday deals can make it so you spend less on that new set-top box or dongle. One of the best deals we’ve seen on streaming gear is on the latest Roku Ultra, which is on sale for $79, or $21 off its usual rate. That’s an all-time-low price on the 2024 version.

Roku unveiled the 2024 Ultra in September. It claims that the device is at least 30 percent faster than any of its other players. As such, apps should load quickly and moving around the user interface should feel zippy.

The previous version is our pick for the best set-top streaming box (we’re currently testing the 2024 model). The Roku Ultra offers 4K streaming with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, as well as Dolby Atmos audio. It supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and you can plug in an Ethernet cable as well.

This model comes with a second-gen Voice Remote Pro, which boasts backlit buttons and USB-C charging, though Roku says it should run for up to three months on a single charge. Other features include hands-free voice control and a lost remote finder function. Roku ditched the headphone jack for wired listening this time around, unfortunately, but you can still connect wireless headphones to the Roku Ultra via Bluetooth.

The Roku Channel offers more than 400 free, ad-supported streaming channels, along with on-demand shows and movies. The Roku Ultra is also compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit and AirPlay.

In addition to the latest Ultra, you can save on a number of other Roku devices for Black Friday. The most affordable of the bunch is the Roku Express HD, which is down to only $18, and the Roku Streambar SE is on sale for $69 — only $10 more than its record low.

In case you need a new flatscreen to actually plug your Roku devices into, there are a ton of Black Friday deals on TVs as well. Hisense models are up to $602 off and you can get a similar discount on the latest model of the 55-inch Frame TV from Samsung. The prices of some TCL and Sony Bravia TVs have also dropped by hundreds of dollars for Black Friday.

The best Amazon Black Friday deals for 2024: Sales on Kindles, Echo speakers, Ring doorbells, Blink cameras and more

Aside from Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday is the best time of year to pick up an Echo speaker, a Fire tablet or a Kindle ereader from Amazon. While the online retailer typically saves all of the best discounts on its devices for the members-only sale events, it’s a safe bet that those deals will come back around for Black Friday. This year is no different: we’re seeing record-low prices (or close to them) on all of Amazon’s gadgets. These are the best deals you can get on Amazon devices for Black Friday 2024.

  • Echo for $55 ($45 off): We consider this to be the best smart speaker for $100 or less at the moment thanks to its loud audio with good bass quality, the ability to pair two together for stereo sound and Alexa’s utility.

  • Amazon Echo Spot for $45 ($35 off): This recently revived smart display is billed as a smart alarm clock, and it features a customizable screen, big sound for its size and all the perks for Alexa voice commands. You can also grab it bundled with a free Amazon Basics smart light bulb.

  • Echo Dot for $23 ($27 off): This is one of the best smart speakers you can get right now thanks to its compact design, physical button controls that compliment voice commands and its solid sound quality for its size.

  • Echo Pop for $18 ($22 off): One of Amazon’s newest smart devices, the Pop sports a 1.95-inch front-facing speaker, a physical mic mute switch for extra privacy and eero compatibility.

  • Echo Show 5 for $45 ($45 off): This is one of our favorite smart displays thanks to its compact design, ambient light sensor and sunrise alarm feature, all of which make it an excellent smart alarm clock. Amazon improved the speaker quality on this latest model, which gives sound deeper bass and clearer vocals.

  • Echo Dot Kids for $28 ($32 off): The kids version of the Echo Dot uses the same basic hardware, but comes with a cute dragon or owl cover, plus parental controls and a year’s subscription to Amazon Kids+ that can play kid-friendly audiobooks and more.

  • Echo Buds for $25 ($25 off): These are one of our top picks for the best budget wireless earbuds you can get right now thanks to their comfortable design, pocket-friendly case, automatic wear detection, multi-device connectivity and, of course, built-in Alexa voice controls.

The best PlayStation Black Friday deals include the PS VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for $200 off

Here’s some good news for those who haven’t pulled the trigger on Sony’s latest VR headset. The PlayStation VR2 is on sale for $350 as part of a Black Friday deal, and it’s a bundle that includes the critically-acclaimed spin-off Horizon Call of the Mountain. This is a record low price for the headset, and that’s without a game that normally costs $60. In other words, this is one heck of a great deal.

We enjoyed this headset and gave it high marks in our official review. The OLED displays are excellent, so the graphics are on point. The headset’s fit is comfortable and it includes built-in haptics for increased immersion. Haptics for your head? That’s a pretty novel concept.

The headset also includes eye tracking technology and ships with two dedicated controllers, one for each hand. The company’s Sense controllers are eerily similar to Meta Quest controllers, with a large tracking ring, analog sticks, face buttons, triggers and grip buttons.

As for Horizon Call of the Mountain, it’s a new entry in the beloved Horizon franchise, only in VR. There’s a whole lot of climbing, as indicated by the title, but also a refined bow and arrow mechanic that feels just right in virtual space.

We hesitated to recommend this headset to everyone at its original price of $550, but it’s a no-brainer at $350. This deal is also available through Sony, if Amazon isn’t your bag. So what’s the catch? There’s only one. This isn’t a standalone headset. It requires a PS5 to work, though Sony did recently release an adapter that lets it connect to a PC.

Sonos Black Friday deals: Get up to $200 off soundbars and speakers

Sonos is getting in on Black Friday deals this year. Right now, you can save up to $200 off the company’s speakers and soundbars, making this a great time to buy that piece you need to complete your home theater setup. The highlight of the Black Friday promotion is the Era 100, which you can currently get for $199, or $50 off its usual $249 price.

If you’re in the market for a soundbar, consider the Sonos Arc. Now that the Arc Ultra is available, Sonos has discounted its previous flagship soundbar by $200 to $699. For something more affordable, the Beam 2 is currently $369, down from $499. Lastly, there’s the Era 300. Right now, you can buy the Dolby Atmos-compatible speaker for $359, instead of $449 as usually priced. All of these deals are being matched by Amazon, too.

More than a few of Sonos’ speakers, including the Era 100, have found a spot and stayed on Engadget’s list of best smart speakers. If you care about music but still want a speaker with modern features, a Sonos system is the way to go. Not only do the company’s speakers sound great, but you also get access to things like AirPlay 2 that make it incredibly easy to play exactly the song you want to listen to in the moment.

You may have seen that Sonos bungled the release of the latest version of its companion app. That’s true, but as things stand, the company has done a lot of work in recent months to fix its software. As a daily user, I can safely say the Sonos app is in much better shape now than it was in the spring. Other than the premium price that comes with Sonos products, there’s not much they don’t do as well or better than the competition. With the discounts the company is offering for Black Friday, its speakers come even more highly recommended.

The 16 best Black Friday deals on robot vacuums from Shark, iRobot, Dyson and more

And unlike a few years ago, you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a decent robot vacuum today. That being said, it’s always advisable to wait for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday time period if you want to get the best deal on a brand new robo-vac. Beats Solo 4 headphones are $100 off on Amazon for Black Friday

Black Friday deals are in full swing on Apple products, with sales on everything from the 2024 iPad Pro (down to $899 from $999) to the Apple Watch Series 10 ($329, down from $399). However, one of the best discounts we’re seeing is on the Beats Solo 4 wireless headphones, which are a whopping 50 percent off and down to $100. That’s a record low, and the discount applies to all color options.

The Beats Solo 4 headphones came out in April and received a 79 in our review. They’re a solid item, especially for 50 percent off, and offer features like over 50 hours of battery life. They also have solid sound quality and clarity, especially with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. However, they aren’t the most comfortable of headphones on the market (especially for big heads) and don’t have automatic pausing.

The overall sale includes the Beats Pill, a portable bluetooth speaker, that’s also down to $100, from $150 — a 33 percent discount. The Pill can wirelessly connect to your Android or Apple device or to a laptop through a USB-C cable. It also holds 24 hours of battery and can charge your phone and other devices through that USB-C cable. Plus, it has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating so it’s shouldn’t have issues if you use it outside.

A post-apocalyptic world of humans in primitive-style garb battling giant dinosaur-like robots: We’ve definitely seen this before. This isn’t another Horizon game from Guerrilla. Oh, no, no. This is an initial look at a game called Polaris Quest from a Tencent subsidiary. I mean, sure, we had Dinobots in the ’80s, but this looks bafflingly close to Aloy’s adventures. One image shows a trio of human characters using bows and spears to tackle a mammoth-style machine. Even the game’s logo font looks like Horizon.

CRKD’s Nitro Deck turned my OLED Switch into an OLED Switch Lite, in a way. It added chunkier grips to both sides of the screen, a more logical USB-C charging passthrough and substantial triggers. It felt like a proper controller. The Nitro Deck+ is largely the same premise: a handheld deck for your Switch slate, no detachable Joy-Cons (and thus no drift) programmable buttons and — I hate to write this — a better hand feel.
