iiyama is set to drop their newest 24-inch LCD monitor for the mass market, the ProLite XB2483HSU. Adopting an AMVA+ panel, this new 24-inch LED-backlit monitor provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 4ms (GTG) response time and 178/178 degree viewing angles. In addition, it also comes with two built-in 2W stereo speakers and has DVI-D, D-Sub, HDMI connectors. The ProLite XB2483HSU will go on sale from September 24th for 27,800 Yen (about $280). [iiyama]

Dell hits back by launching their latest LCD monitor for the Chinese market, the UltraSharp U2413. Adopting an AH-IPS panel, this new 24-inch LED-backlight monitor provides 1920 x 1200 native resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 6ms response time and 178/178 degree viewing angles, and features DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort connectors, plus a 4-port USB 3.0 hub.
