Borderlands 2 Receiving New Playable Character ‘Krieg The Psycho’ On May 14

Borderlands 2 Receiving New Playable Character Krieg The Psycho On May 14

Shortly after the release of Borderlands 2, we were introduced to a new playable character, Gaige the Mechromancer, which was released as a downloadable add-on in October. This week, Gearbox Software unveiled a new playable character which is expected to be released on May 14 called Krieg the Psycho Bandit.

Krieg the Psycho Bandit is a reformed version of the Psychos we’re sure you Borderlands players have become quite familiar with. Krieg will use a combination of his trusty axe and explosives to take down his enemies and will come with three skill trees: Bloodlust, which will increase Krieg’s abilities when he kills with his Buzz Axe; Mania, which will increase his damage output as he takes damage; and Hellborn, which will make him an even deadlier character when he’s on fire. Borderlands 2 ‘Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep” DLC Title Leaked

Borderlands 2 Tiny Tinas Assault On Dragon Keep DLC Title Leaked

Anthony Burch, a Borderlands writer, apparently leaked the title for the next downloadable content for Borderlands 2. He tweeted a picture earlier today, which has now been removed, that contained a poster in the background with the title of next Borderlands 2 DLC, “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.” Gearbox, the developer of popular game has previously confirmed that the next DLC will be releasing towards the end of June. They had not revealed the title when making this announcement, but if this poster is anything to go by, there’s no need for a title announcement now any way.

Gearbox did not want to comment on this leak. It is interesting to note that Gearbox did show off Tiny Tina teasing something for Borderlands 2 at the PAX East conference which took place back in March. Obviously we can’t be too sure until an official announcement is made, but nonetheless, it is pretty evident from the poster seen in this image that the next DLC for Borderlands too is inevitably titled “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.” [Image via StealthyBox]

Update: Gearbox has now confirmed that this is indeed the next DLC for Borderlands 2. It will be available on June 25 for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and $9.99 on the PlayStation 3.

2K Games Won’t Be Attending E3 2013

2K Games Wont Be Attending E3 2013

It looks as though Nintendo isn’t the only major publisher to diminish their presence at E3 this year as it turns out 2K Games, which is the publisher behind Borderlands 2 and BioShock Infinite, won’t be attending the show at all this year.

The news comes directly from 2K Games as they revealed on their forums they won’t have a booth at E3 this year, and will instead be working hard on its upcoming new titles for release. The forum post also plugged the company’s YouTube and Twitch channels to encourage gamers who are looking for additional information on upcoming titles to follow them on these sites. (more…)

XCOM FPS Becomes ‘The Bureau: XCOM Declassified’; Releasing August 20

Before XCOM: Enemy Unknown was made available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a turn-based strategy game, it was supposed to be a first-person shooter. The XCOM shooter mysteriously disappeared with its existence not even acknowledged by 2K Games of Firaxis, but today, both companies have announced its FPS XCOM game will finally be made available later this year.

The game will be called The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and will take place in 1962 back when John F. Kennedy was in the White House and will play as the origin story for the modern XCOM initiative, which we’re sure by now you’re aware is what we experienced in XCOM: Enemy Unknown. In XCOM Declassified, players will assume the role of Special Agent William Carter as he takes customizable agents into the field. Gameplay will be in real-time, which is a departure for the series since its previous games have been turn-based, and the death of squad mates will still be permanent. (more…)

Borderlands 2 Gun Replicas Created From Nerf Guns

Borderlands 2 Gun Replicas Created From Nerf Guns

We think it’s safe to say Borderlands 2 has a lot of guns. The game probably has more guns than you can shake a stick at, especially if you’re the world champion stick shaker. But one Redditor decided he and a friend would take some Nerf guns and tweak them a bit to look exactly like guns you’d find in Borderlands 2. The result of their work is amazing, although you probably could have guessed that much since they’re being featured in a story.

Redditor DrBreakMD published photos of four Borderlands 2-inspired weapons, which were created for his “end of high school celebration.” The process of creating these four guns required him to disassembled each gun, sand the Nerf logo off of them and applied different coats of pain to each one. DrBreakMD also used dry brushing to help give each gun a more dirty, rugged look.
