We know how hard it is for iOS owners to part with their 30-pin connector products as you probably thought your bedside radio would always stay with you. But now that you have an iPhone 5, it just sits there, collecting dust and telling the time accurately. But a new product from PhotoFast can make it easier for you to enjoy your accessories that only have a 30-pin connector.

The PhotoFast Lightning Mount combines Apple’s Lightning adapter along with a fully functional mount to provide a seamless integration into your 30-pin accessories as just having your Lightning adapter connected to it could lead to your iPhone 5 or iPod Touch flailing about with no support. The Lightning Mount also fits perfectly into a standard universal dock and will work with some of the most popular speakers systems from some notable manufactures like Bose, Panasonic, Sony, Pioneer, Altec Lansing, Yamaha and Logitech. ChargeBite Draws Power From Other iPhones To Recharge Yours

Being a smartphone owner these days means you’ll most likely have to keep your device connected to its charger when you’re home, in your car and sometimes, when you visit someone else’s home. Keeping your battery charged at an acceptable level is something we all constantly worry about, but a new device will hopefully have you worrying a little bit less, that is, as long as you have friends around with charged devices.

The ChargeBite is a charger that doesn’t have you relying on an electrical outlet in order to get your charging needs. Instead, it features three 30-pin docks to suck the power out of other iOS devices in order to help keep yours charged. Think of it as the modern day version of walking over to a neighbor’s house to ask for a cup of sugar. (more…)

Apple to control sales of dock connector adapters?

With the September 12th event just a week away, you know for sure that many more rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 will continue to make its way in the coming few days without letting up on the pressure. After all, this could be the next best thing since sliced bread for folks watching the technological space, and one of the iPhone 5 rumors that had certainly had their day in the sun would be the possibility of Apple looking into a smaller option from the current 30-pin dock connector. So far, reports of 8-pins to 19-pins have been talked about, but there is no real, official confirmation just yet.

Needless to say, a change in the size of dock connectors would only mean one thing – more money spent, assuming you adopt the new iPhone 5 when it arrives. Your accessories that hook up via the dock connector will need to change their size, and third party accessories manufacturers will definitely be rubbing their hands in glee and anticipation. iLounge has laid claim that Apple intends to be the sole company in the creation of these adapters for its dock connectors, with whispers of them going for $10 a pop – and a $1 discount if you purchase a pack of three at $29. Just a few more days of waiting will confirm or give the game away, so be patient.
