Hasta La Gadget!

I’m not sure why a shape-shifting dog even needs a sword, but that’s Adventure Time for you. It doesn’t have to make sense to be an amazing cartoon. As you might expect, this sword is totally mathematical! It was made by none other than our favorite blacksmith, Tony “Man at Arms” Swatton.

The swords in Adventure Time all have their quirks. Jake’s weapon is no exception. Look how long that hilt is. You could never use this sword in real life. That didn’t stop master swordsmith Tony Swatton from making it real. Watch as he first makes Jake’s sword, then uses it to destroy stuff.

It really is beautiful and it looks like it came right out of the cartoon. As usual, Great work, Tony!

Adventure Time is super popular with both kids and adults, because it is funny, unique and original. The characters are awesome. It has inspired many artists to make their own Adventure Time art. It should be celebrated. And it will be. Gallery1988 West is having a special exhibit that features over 65 artists.

The art on display ranges from illustrations to sculptures and it will show off all kinds of art inspired by this amazing cartoon series. If I could, I would buy it all. There are so many great pieces.

The show opened on Thursday, April 3 and will only run through April 6. So you’d better hurry. This show is sure to be a hit so maybe they will have another one in a year or so.

It would be awesome to have a best buddy like Jake from Adventure Time. Finn doesn’t know how lucky he is. Jake can shapeshift into anything. An umbrella to keep you dry, a Jake suit to give you some armor, even a neck pillow. Jake is the man. I mean, the dog.

Doctor Who gets mashed up with Adventure Time in this amazing piece of art by James Hance. You got your Doctor Who in my Adventure Time! No, your Adventure Time is in my Doctor Who!

It is absolutely perfect. I would pay to see this show. Finn is the Eleventh Doctor and Jake is the Tenth. Lumpy Space Princess is an Adipose. Of course. Ice King is a Weeping Angel, while Gunther and his pals are Daleks. The TARDIS? BMO of course. The only thing missing is that he should have put Princess Bubblegum in here as Amy Pond. How perfect would that have been?

This mural  is done with acrylic paint, measures about 4×5 feet and is now on the wall of Hance’s 9-year-old daughter’s room. I wish I had this on the wall of my house. Thankfully, James does plan on offering the design on prints and t-shirts in the next couple of weeks. Mathematical!

So how do you get customers to not only eat your questionable mystery meat products with a side of fries and come back for more? If you are McDonald’s, the key is to offer kick-ass toys. Many people will normally choose a healthier meal, but give them an awesome toy and they will wolf down whatever swill you are serving. I say, serve me up whatever you want, but just make sure you give me that BMO figure and I’m good. Cool?

A line of Adventure Time toys are coming to McDonald’s Happy Meals starting January 17th. Mathematical! These are the ones. There’s bendy versions of Jake and Finn, a channel-changing BMO, sword-swinging Finn, spring-action Jake, and ice-blast shooting Ice King.

Gotta get ‘em all. They should have no problem selling cheeseburgers and fries this month. In fact, I’m just gonna go claim my own table and live there for awhile. While I wait, I’m going to kill some time coloring:
