MSI debuts low-end Wind Top AC1900 all-in-one PC

It may not exactly stray too far from the company’s previous models, but MSI’s new Wind Top AC1900 does boast a slightly revised design, and some expectedly low-end but not terrible specs (assuming the price is right). That includes an 18.5-inch 1,366 x 768 display, a dual-core Celeron E3400 processor, 2GB of RAM upgradeable to 4GB, a 320GB hard drive, a built-in DVD burner, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and Windows 7 Home Premium for an OS. Still no word on pricing or availability, but the product page on MSI’s site does seem to suggest that it’ll be available soon, if it hasn’t hit stores already.

Lexmark intros Genesis all-in-one printer with camera-based scanning, we go eyes-on

You’ve probably seen quite a few flatbed scanner bars in your lifetime, but the $400 Lexmark Genesis printer doesn’t have one of those — it’s got a 10 megapixel digital camera with a fish-eye lens that produces nigh-instant images. 750 milliseconds after you close its front-facing scan bay, the CMOS sensor generates a preview on the 4.3-inch color touchscreen, and 2.2 seconds after that, it’s got a full 300 dpi image saved on your USB-connected computer or winging its way across 802.11n WiFi. The company’s calling the system FlashScan, and the raw speed was definitely impressive when we saw it in San Francisco this week, even though other parts of the print system left something to be desired.

The printer uses special algorithms to translate the fish-eye image back into a flat sheet and reproduces text quite well, but the twin RGB flashes it fires to reproduce color didn’t always do an accurate job, and we were disappointed to find a number of features (including some obvious oversights like image rotation for copies) weren’t accessible via the touchscreen. It does have a number of neat web apps for completely untethered use, however, including the ability to scan right to Evernote and Photobucket and Box.net, and Lexmark told us it’s working with a number major photo hosting services, Twitter and Facebook to let Genesis users directly upload. See it in action on video after the break, along with the full press release.

Acer updates Veriton all-in-ones and nettops for the business execs

Can’t get enough updated products out the door this week, can ya, Acer? Well, today those spreadsheet-loving executives out there are in luck as Acer’s updating its business-targeted Veriton line up. That attractive 21.5-inch all-in-one up there is the new Veriton Z410G, but it’s more than just silver and black good looks — it’ll be avilable with a Pentium E5700 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive for $719. On the lower end there’s the $599 18.5-inch Z2900G, which differentiates itself with a resistive touchscreen and an dual-core Atom D525 processor. For the smaller form factor inclined, Acer’s also unleashing the $399 Veriton N282G and $449 N281G nettops. The former is powered by a dual-core D525 Atom processor and NVIDIA’s Ion 2 platform, while the latter is stuck with an Atom D425 processor and Intel’s GMA 3150. Both are outfitted with 320GB of storage and 2GB of memory. The prices do seem are slightly higher than Acer’s consumer counterparts, but can you really put a price on Acer’s added Veriton ControlCenter, which includes QuickMigration and PowerSaver software? Until Acer’s next batch of updates, we leave you with the full press releases after the break.

NEC debuts VersaPro UltraLite VB laptop, Mate MG all-in-one for Japan

Like your computers to be all-business and only available available in Japan? Then you might want to take a gander at NEC’s latest duo, which includes the thin-and-light VersaPro UltraLite VB laptop, and the Mate MG all-in-one desktop (pictured after the break). Both of those are fairly mid-range when it comes to specs, with the laptop (a 12-incher) boasting either a Celeron, Core i3 or Core i5 processor and a range of basic configuration options, while the 19-inch desktop packs your choice of a Celeron or Core i5 processor and a somewhat unique power saving mode that uses a motion sensor to shut of the display when you leave the room. While they may not exactly be high-end, it doesn’t look like these will come cheap — look for the base model of the laptop to run ¥175,000 (or just over $2,000), while the desktop starts at ¥181,000 (or roughly $2,170).

Gateway gives its ZX One multitouch all-in-ones a new look and some new specs

Having trouble finding an all-in-one PC that fits you? We have no idea why, they’re everywhere these days, but just in case you’re still striking out you might want to check out Gateway’s new ZX One series refresh. The desktops have a fresh little curved look to them, with prices starting at $900 for a 21.5-inch machine (ZX4951) with a 2.8GHz Pentium G6950 processor, while a 23-inch number (ZX6951) with a 3.2GHz Core i3-550 processor is a mere $100 more. If those prices sound steep to you for machines with Intel HD integrated graphics, you should know that multitouch screens and Blu-ray come standard in this lineup. Both computers are available now online and at retail.

Acer unveils AMD-infused Aspire Z3100 AIO, Revo 3700 nettop now available for $349

Can you smell it in the air? Autumn is most assuredly here. Sure, you can deduce as much from equinoxes or changing leaves, but if you ask us, it’s almost just as precise to go by a new, pre-holiday product cycle. Acer‘s taken the cue with two new desktop SKUs — one each in the nettop and all-in-one categories. First with the latter: the 21.5-inch AZ3100 all-in-one (pictured). A tier lower than the AZ5700, this one lacks the multitouch and TV tuner, and instead utilizes a 2GHz AMD Athlon II 170u processor, NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics, 3GB RAM, and 500GB HDD. Add in a DVD drive, webcam, HDMI, six USB 2.0 ports, Windows 7 Home Premium, and a side chassis for “cable management.” It does best its older brother in the price category, though, at just $599 — about five Benjamins lower.

As for the Aspire Revo 3700, it was actually announced earlier this month, but now we’ve got the skinny on this book-sized nettop’s price and availability. That’d be $349 for the tag, and a street date of approximately… now, according to the press release. Speaking of which, all pertinent paperwork can be found after the break.

Sony updates VAIO F, E, and L with shiny new silicon, a pinch of Blu-ray and some denser screens

Fall is fully upon us and winter around the bend, which can only mean one thing — time for Sony to refresh its alphabet soup of Vaio laptops with some seasonal upgrades. First and foremost, the 16.4-inch VAIO F is getting a kick in the graphical department — just as expected, you can grab a GeForce GT 425M 1GB for a nominal $50 fee — and there’s a pair of standard-issue USB 3.0 ports to power some potent peripherals. The Vaio L touchscreen all-in-one, meanwhile, is getting a Blu-ray burner at the $2,199 level, and both the VAIO EA and VAIO EB have access to 2.53GHz Core i5-460M and 2.66GHz Core i5-580M processors for $130 and $230 premiums, respectively, as well as ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics for a mere $100. Last but not least, the EB and EC can trade in their weak 1366 x 768 displays for 1920 x 1080 full HD panels nearly worthy of Paul Miller’s enthusiasm, and until October 9th that particular $50 upgrade costs you the very reasonable price of free.

Dell whips out 23-inch Inspiron One all-in-one and Zino HD

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from Dell on the home entertainment front, but don’t you worry, the guys in Round Rock have been right on top of it. First up is the brand new Zino HD home theater PC, which like we’d heard is being updated with an AMD quad-core Phenom II processor that’s more than capable of pumping out full HD to your HDTV. In typical Dell spirit there’s tons of configuration options, including one for 1GB of ATI discrete graphics, a Blu-ray drive, and up to a terabyte of storage. For $299, we’re a bit giddy about this little one considering it packs more power than any of those Ion nettops and it comes with a wireless keyboard and IR remote control.

If a large touchscreen all-in-one is more your thing, the Inspiron One can be configured with similar parts — an AMD Athlon II X4 processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450, Blu-ray, and up to 1TB are all on the list. To us, the real appeal of this one is its 1920×1080 resolution, 23-inch display, which produced some pretty stunning HD playback when we saw it in action last month. Dell’s put a lot of energy into its new Stage touch interface, which consists of different tiled applications. It’s actually more than eye candy as we’re betting those Netflix and CinemaNow tiles will see plenty of tapping. The One starts at $799 and will be available this coming weekend — but before you yank out the wallet, we’d suggest flipping through the galleries below and hitting the break for a read of the press release.

HP announces TouchSmart 310 and Omni100 all-in-one PCs

It’s not just oddly random Android tablet-based printers for HP today — the company also announced two new all-in-one PCs, the TouchSmart 310 (pictured above) and the Omni100. The TouchSmart 310 is obviously the latest in the TouchSmart line, with a 2.8GHz Athlon II 240e dual-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, Radeon HD 4270 integrated graphics, a 1TB drive and a 20-inch 1600×1900 touchscreen running the latest version of HP’s Windows 7 touch overlay with custom interfaces for Facebook, Hulu, Netflix, Twitter, and HP’s built-in HDTV tuner. Not bad — but we’ll see how much all those options cost above the $699 base price. On the non-touch front, the Omni100 also has a 20-inch 1600×1900 display, but it’s running HP’s MediaSmart Windows 7 overlay on a 1.8GHz Athlon II 260u with 3GB of RAM, a 500GB drive and the same Radeon HD 4270 integrated graphics. It’s also cheaper, starting at $499 — we’re definitely a little concerned that HP’s cheaped out on display quality at those prices, but we’ll have to see things in person first. We’ll find out soon enough — both of these hit on the 22nd.

NEC expands Valuestar 3D lineup with two new desktop PCs; laptops say LaVie

We’ll have to assume NEC managed to free Willy and that its first 3D venture was a success, as the company’s just revealed a brand new set of stereoscopic screens, one of which is actually not part and parcel of an all-in-one PC. NVIDIA’s 3D Vision kit (with active shutter glasses) and a 23-inch, 1920 x 1080 120Hz monitor accompany this Valuestar L, with a 2.93GHz Core i7-870 processor, GeForce GT 330 GPU, 8GB of memory, 1TB of storage and Blu-ray 3D drive in an attractive white case. There’s also a similarly-sized Valuestar W 3D all-in-one with a 2.53GHz Core i5-460M and GeForce GT 330M graphics, a digital TV tuner, half the memory, a 1.5TB drive and a passive, polarized display. If you’re not interested in wearing glasses while chained to a desk, of course, you could always consider the new LaVie Light netbook, newly refreshed with a dual-core Intel Atom N550. And yes, we know we made a horrible pun. Sometimes we just can’t help ourselves.
