New 2012 iPhone body reportedly leaks, gives the glass front its time to shine

New reported 2012 iPhone body leaks, gives the glass front its time to shine

Remember that tall, mostly aluminum 2012 iPhone shell that appeared to have leaked? It’s back. This time, KitGuru has unearthed what it claims is a “test sample” with the glass front panel roughly intact. We’ve seen the darker steel sides, aluminum back and new dock connector before, but the front gives us a much better sense of how the finished product (if real) will turn out. Sitting next to an iPhone 4S, it’s suggested that the new model would stuff in that bigger screen more through a better use of the available area — there’s much less blank space than on the iPhones we’ve known since 2007. While we still don’t know for sure if the design shown here is close to what will go hand-in-hand with iOS 6 in the fall, we’re starting to see enough smoke that there’s bound to be a fire nearby.

Ag++ Aluminum iPhone Case: Metal Goodness

What is is about aluminum that works so well with iOS devices? Maybe because Apple’s other industrial designs like unibody case of the MacBook Pro translates so nicely for accessories as well. If you’re thinking about an aluminum case for your iPhone, check out the Ag++ case, created by designer Andrea Ponti.

The Ag++ is made out of aluminum, and it’s a bumper case for your iPhone. It’s made up of two parts, that are screw-locked together. The case is made out of shock absorbent aircraft-grade aluminum, that weighs only 16 grams. The case is available in glossy, matte, or gloss/matte combo in the following colors: silver-gray, silver-orange, or silver-blue. The case also includes carbon fiber patterned back skins in both silver and black, but you can always skip that if you prefer the standard iPhone back plate.

TAKTIK Case Adds Substance to Your iPhone

This iPhone case looks extremely sturdy, and you can bet that if you drop your iPhone inside of this thing, it won’t get a scratch. The TAKTIK iPhone case is a robust enclosure that will protect your iPhone no matter what happens.

The TAKTIK case was designed by the Chicago-based studio MINIMAL, the same guys behind the insanely popular TikTok and LunaTik iPod nano watches. The case has a shockproof suspension system that’s enclosed between to anodized aluminum bezels and compression seals to prevent water from seeping in.

You can even order it with an additional Gorilla Glass lens to further protect your phone, while still allowing you to use the touchscreen. The headphone jack is made out of aircraft-grade anodized aluminum that snaps up to offer rapid access to the port. There is a dedicated lever to open it quickly as well. They also will be offering an optional bike mount for the case, which is a great idea.

The project is being launched through Kickstarter, and was completely funded within a couple of days. They have already amassed over $200,000, with a goal of $150,000, so it definitely will be produced. The TAKTIK case starts at $75(USD) and goes up to $250 for a ‘Future-Proof’ version that ships with one case for your iPhone 4/4S and one for the upcoming iPhone 5.
