Amazing Alex Arrives At Windows Phone Store

Amazing Alex Arrives At Windows Phone StoreRovio is certainly a name that everyone should remember by now, as they are the ones who came out with the Angry Birds game that took the world by storm, appearing on just about every mobile platform to boot. Well, I guess they are now stuck with the curse of Angry Birds, as their subsequent title, Amazing Alex, did not do too amazing in terms of sales, but at least the game has finally arrived on the Windows Phone Store.

Once you have installed the application from the Windows Phone Store, you can get started with the game. Basically, the reason Alex is “amazing” is due to his imagination and a penchant for the extraordinary, where he is capable of turning his toys as well as household objects into gripping adventures. Amazing Alex can be downloaded onto your Nokia Lumia for £0.79p a pop, as long as your handset runs on Windows Phone 7.x or 8, you are good to go. There are more than 100 levels to go through, set in a quartet of locations, so it is time to exercise that brain!

Rovio’s Amazing Alex hits iOS and Android

So you love games eh? If you’ve been waiting for Rovio’s Amazing Alex on your Android and iOS device, then the waiting game is finally over. Rovio, a Finnish video game developer that’s best known as the creators of the Angry Birds franchise, is announcing the availability of Amazing Alex on both mobile platforms. Essentially, the game has a set of 35 fully interactive objects that players will need to move. Players can enable the objects to bounce, pop, ricochet, bash, and crash into each other and create an elaborate Rube Goldberg device.

Even better, players can also share their most creative solutions with friends and see what they came up with. Amazing Alex is available on the iPhone for for $0.99, and the iPad for $2.99. For Android, there’s a free version, a paid version for $0.99, and an HD version for $2.99. “We’re so excited for our fans to meet Amazing Alex,” said EVP of Games, Petri Jarvilehto. “We’ve taken out time polishing a fantastic game and believe we’re created something fun and accessible for all ages. We’ve had a lot of fun with the game, and we can’t wait to see what our fans come up with!”

It’s finally happening: after roughly two and a half years, Rovio Mobile is weaning itself off of its addiction to avians. The company’s first non-bird title in what feels like an eternity, Amazing Alex, will be reaching the official stores for both Android and iOS come July 12th. Strictly speaking, Rovio is taking something of a shortcut to bringing this Incredible Machine-style puzzler to market: it bought the rights to Casey’s Contraptions and enlisted the developers, Miguel Friginal and Noel Llopis, to bring the title into the Rovio family. While that means it’s not quite as fresh as it could be, the game has already piqued our interest and could be exposed to many (many, many) more players. While we wait, we’ll pour one out for the managers and supervisors bound to lose hours of work from staff trying to finish just one more level.
