Most Mercedes-Benz owners wouldn’t dream of driving their vehicles into the sea, but there’s nothing wrong with wanting a little luxury while you’re tackling a big wave. And since the carmaker is a sponsor of surfer Garrett McNamara, it teamed up with ad agency BBDO Portugal to design a one-of-a-kind surfboard for him.

Posted in: Today's ChiliMercedes Benz Japan will roll-out a special edition of its G class four-wheel-drive vehicle model. It’s called “G 550 Night Edition” and 100 cars will be sold, only in Japan.
The “G 550 Night Edition” is based on the existing model G 550. AMG is added over the fender and it features 18-inch twin 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The color of the interior can be chosen from 2 colors: porcelain and classic red. Outside color is obsidian black.
The price is 13,900,000 yen (including tax).
They are planning to display the “G 550 Night Edition” in Mercedes Benz Connection in Roppongi starting April 22.
There are a plenty of places in the world that need 4×4s to get around. In some places, that’s just not enough. That’s probably why Mercedes-Benz came up with this 6×6 off-roader, which promises to be the most rugged Merc you’ve ever seen.
The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 was probably built for multi-millionaires and super-villains, with secret lairs far away from the beaten path. Or maybe Saudi oil princes, wanting to get around in the desert.
The 8300 pound G63 AMG 6×6 comes with six massive 37-inch wheels for more traction, a twin-turbocharged 5.5L AMG V8 that produces 536HP, a seven-speed automatic transmission and naturally, all-wheel drive, all resulting in a whopping 560-lb-ft of torque.
The interior is quite luxurious, featuring Alcantara and leather, sports seats, and everything you’d expect from a high-end Merc.
You’ll have to pay about $525,000(USD) to get yours, but act quickly, because they’re only making 20 to 30 of these each year.
What happens when you transfuse the 2,200 HP electric drive train from the world’s fastest and most powerful production electric car, the Mercedes SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive, into a 38-foot racing hull? You get the world’s fastest and most powerful production electric speed boat. Duh. More »
Mercedes-Benz has already committed to bringing the SLS AMG E-Cell gullwing to dealers in 2013, but we’d advise holding back on taking out a second mortgage to pay for it until you’re done reading. The Netherlands’ De Telegraaf hears from an unnamed spokesperson that there’s enough interest to make a roadster version of the EV supercar. What action the automaker takes depends on sales of the hardtop: if it’s clear more people want an open-air experience, that’s what will happen. The electric motor layout is easily transferred to a roadster, the representative says. If that E-Cell variant becomes a reality, Audi might want to hurry up and build a production-grade e-tron Spyder before Mercedes claims all of the (very niche) German electric roadster market for itself.
