It’s hard to underestimate the value of brand loyalty. Just ask Verizon Wireless. It’s with satisfied Incredible and Incredible 2 owners in mind that the carrier is promoting the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, a 4-inch, $149 device that — as you may have guessed — rides along VZW’s fast LTE network.

Interestingly, the Incredible 4G LTE is landing at a time when many consumers might have preferred, say, the HTC One X. In fact, though, Verizon’s decision to instead update the Incredible (also made by HTC) introduces a rather enviable proposition to Verizon customers. Remember that in a short matter of time, the Samsung Galaxy S III will soon make its debut at Verizon, at which point, it’s expected to become the network’s premiere smartphone. Still, its large size will deter many shoppers, and when viewed through this lens, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE begins to make sense. Put simply, it’s a compact handset that stands as the antithesis to the assumption that size equals power. While the handset doesn’t quite approach the capabilities or elegance of the One X (or the One S, for that matter), the latest Incredible is a worthy successor and deserves consideration as your next smartphone — regardless of your current provider. If you’re willing to embrace its mouthful of a name, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE has at last reached shops. The sequel to one of Verizon’s most enduring brands will, as promised, set you back $150 on contract once you’ve taken advantage of that $50 rebate. Its name already reinforces what’s new in data speeds, but if the heat of summer has left your memory hazy about everything else, just remember that it’s the closest the carrier will get in the near future to having a One series phone. The most incredible of Droids has a Snapdragon S4, 960 x 540 screen, 8-megapixel camera and Sense 4.0 like the One S over at T-Mobile. What’s lost in the lower 1.2GHz clock speed and dropping the speedy ImageSense chip is gained through a more pleasing Super LCD, a removable battery and a micro-SD slot. While in the US, our LTE-equipped Galaxy S IIIs are packing dual-core Snapdragon S4 processors, the (so far) Korean-only Galaxy S III LTE that combines the quad-core Exynos processor of the international model with high speed data finally has a release date — July 9th. Samsung’s post indicates three carriers (SK Telecom, KT and LG U+) are lined up for the launch and confirms that the battery will remain at 2,100 mAh along with 2GB of RAM and DMB TV tuning. Having everything will likely come at a price of battery life since the quad-core CPUs are not as well integrated with LTE so far, but those willing to compromise for more cores (despite the dual-core Krait’s not-at-all shabby performance) will likely look on with envy.

We didn’t have to wait long to find out what Samsung would do with the GT-B5330 we saw just a day ago: meet the much more elegantly-titled Galaxy Chat. The finished product is Samsung’s first phone outside of the Galaxy S III to carry the Nature UX layer, but takes it in a very message-happy direction with a QWERTY keyboard, a bundled copy of Quick Office and a dedicated key for ChatON that reminds us of the BlackBerry Curve 9320’s BBM shortcut. Not that you’d confuse the two otherwise, as the Galaxy Chat’s 3-inch, 480 x 320 touchscreen and 4GB of built-in storage (plus a microSD slot) are decided steps up. About our only letdowns relative to the category are the 2-megapixel, flashless camera at the back and the difficulty some will have in getting their hands on Samsung’s first keyboard-touting Android 4.0 phone. Unlike the global blitz we saw with the Galaxy S III, the Chat is launching in Spain this month and will exclude some large swaths of the Earth when it goes worldwide later on, leaving out Africa, North America and Russia.

We knew its arrival was imminent, and it looks like the time to shine for Huawei’s Emotion UI is right about now — well, at least in areas near the Great Wall. To celebrate its official debut, the company’s launched a new website where it goes into nearly every detail about its novel Android skin, touting fresh features such as a voice assistant, smart contact finder, customizable fonts, smart triggers and an all-new chat application that’s very reminiscent of Cupertino’s iMessage or Samsung’s ChatOn. Unfortunately, the Emotion UI overlay is only available to Huawei devices — that are running Ice Cream Sandwich — in China, but word has it coming to the US of A and Europe once the outfit’s upcoming Ascend D Quad finally hits the shelves.

Update: As it turns out, our dear friends from Engadget Chinese have pointed out that Huawei’s website is listing the updates as “coming soon” and “ROM developing,” meaning the Emotion UI isn’t quite making its way to devices just yet.
