AT&T HTC One Receiving Android 4.3 Update October 8

AT&T HTC One Receiving Android 4.3 Update October 8

We’ve seen software updates for the HTC One roll out on Verizon and Sprint over the past few weeks, and it looks like it’ll soon be HTC One owners on AT&T to get their respective update. How soon? October 8, soon.

The AT&T HTC One will be receiving its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, which will be rolled out starting on October 8. The news of the AT&T HTC One’s upcoming update comes from none other than HTC America president Jason Mackenzie as he announced the upcoming release through his Twitter account over the weekend. In his tweet, he revealed the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has passed certification and will start updating “early next week.” Mackenzie follows up his original tweet with a response to a Twitter user asking if he had a specific date in mind for the rollout, to which he says “should begin on Tuesday.

EVO 4G LTE Android 4.3 Update Launches Before Year’s End

EVO 4G LTE Android 4.3 Update Launches Before Years End

HTC has confirmed that the Android 4.3 update for EVO 4G LTE will be launched in the U.S. by the end of this year. The confirmation comes from HTC America’s president Jason Mackenzie, who tweeted that the device will receive the Android 4.3 and HTC Sense 5.0 update by the end of this year. However, Mackenzie has not provided a concrete release date, he has only provided a timeframe for us to work with. There’s the possibility that the update might take longer to release, given that the carrier would first want to run its own tests before rolling it out to its customers.

The company is already under the process of rolling out Android 4.3 update for HTC One in the U.S. Sprint is one of the first carriers to roll out the update to its subscribers. Mackenzie has already said that other carriers will be launching the update soon too, though it might take slightly longer than originally anticipated. It can be speculated that the reason behind the delay could be carriers running various tests. Mackenzie has used Twitter frequently to keep HTC customers up to date with the company’s firmware update release schedules, its a good practice, certainly eliminates having to wonder if a particular update is going to be rolled out for a device at all.

Android 4.3 Test Build For Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Leaked

Android 4.3 Test Build For Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Leaked

Only yesterday we reported that a test build of Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S4 had leaked online. Today, a similar test build has emerged for Galaxy Note 2. This is actually the first leaked of this kind for last year’s Note phablet. The existing phablet, Galaxy Note 3, already comes with Android 4.3 pre-installed. It is said that Samsung started testing Android 4.3 for Galaxy Note 2 just a week ago, so this is a very early test build. Only three test builds have reportedly been developed for Note 2 as of now, this is said to be one of them.

Do keep in mind that this is an unofficial release. Apart from that, its an early build, which means that not only will it not have any features or improvements that Samsung might add in later builds, it may also have numerous bugs that are yet to be squashed. So you probably might want to think twice before using this as your daily driver. Furthermore, it is advised that you create a backup of your data first before flashing this leaked ROM, just in case anything goes wrong, so that you don’t end up losing your data. Those who want to download Android 4.3 for Galaxy Note 2 build N7100XXUEMI6 can download it from the leak source.

Android 4.3 For Sprint HTC One Rolling Out Today

Android 4.3 For Sprint HTC One Rolling Out Today

Sprint customers can rejoice as they are the first users of a carrier branded HTC One that is receiving the latest Android update today. HTC USA President Jason Mackenzie has confirmed that Android 4.3 for Sprint HTC One is going to be pushed out today. The company has already released said update across the border in Canada, as well as in a number of other markets. It remains to be seen when the update will be available for other carriers in the U.S., surely their customers can’t wait any longer to update their devices to Android 4.3.

We reported a few days ago when HTC confirmed that it had started rolling out Android 4.3 for international/unbranded versions of the HTC One. The company had said earlier this year that it would roll out the update for everyone by the end of September. HTC said last week that while Android 4.3 had been rolled out for other variants in due time, customers who were using a carrier branded HTC One in the U.S. would have to wait slightly longer. Back then it was not said when exactly the update will be rolled out. As of today, Sprint HTC One users can update their devices to Android 4.3. Hopefully subscribers of other U.S. carriers will be in business soon as well.

Android 4.3 ROM for Galaxy S4 i9505 Leaked

We have seen an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean port running on a Samsung Galaxy S4 model i9505 in the past, but today its a whole different story. Verizon HTC One Software Update Brings Few Improvements

Verizon HTC One Software Update Brings Few Improvements

Verizon was late to get to the HTC One party in the U.S., but the variant it is selling is the only one that comes with Android 4.2 pre-installed. Today, a Verizon HTC One software update has been released. Base Android OS version remains the same, don’t think that Verizon has received the much awaited Android 4.3 update before its rivals. This is actually the first over-the-air update for HTC One on Verizon and it brings a few improvements. The update brings version number up to 1.10.605.10.

According to the official changelog, this Verizon HTC One software update will ensure that device lock-ups don’t happen that often. The update also adds internet accessibility for the visually impaired. The changelog also mentions that ISIS Mobile Wallet has also been updated, though it doesn’t say exactly what has been changed. ISIS is the mobile payments solution that is backed by major U.S. carriers, its nationwide rollout is expected by the end of this year. Verizon has begun pushing this software update out over-the-air, so you may now begin mashing the update button in device settings. As far as Android 4.3 is concerned, a HTC executive confirmed recently that U.S. carrier branded devices will be receiving the update slightly late than originally anticipated.

U.S. Carrier Branded HTC One Will Receive Android 4.3 Update Slightly Late

U.S. Carrier Branded HTC One Will Receive Android 4.3 Update Slightly Late

It goes without saying that a lot of HTC One users are waiting for the Android 4.3 update. The update has already begun rolling out across different regions for users who have developer edition or unbranded units, in time to meet HTC’s self-imposed deadline of rolling out the update before the end of September. However, those who possess U.S. carrier branded HTC One will have to wait for a bit longer, says HTC executive Jason Mackenzie.

A few weeks ago HTC said that it was working hard to roll out Android 4.3 as well as a HTC Sense update to users, it said that the roll out would be completed by the end of September. The month has nearly ended yet there’s no sign of the update for customers with carrier branded units. Mackenzie confirmed via Twitter that the update has already started rolling out for unlocked/unbranded units, adding that carrier models will “slightly miss” the September deadline. He assures everything that they’ll be kept updated on the process. Mackenzie mentions that U.S. carriers are all “very supportive,” but doesn’t say exactly how long will it take for the Android 4.3 update to hit customers. One can only hope that it doesn’t end up taking a lot of time.

Android 4.3 Release In Canada For Galaxy S4, S3 And Note 2 Slated For November

Android 4.3 Release In Canada For Galaxy S4, S3 And Note 2 Slated For November

At its Unpacked event earlier this month, Samsung announced that it will release the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 2 in October. The update will bring features that Google has added, it will also bring the required Bluetooth LE stack that is needed to connect these devices to Samsung’s new Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Customers in Canada might have to wait a bit longer than everyone else, according to a report by MobileSyrup, Samsung Canada has confirmed that Android 4.3 release across the border will take place in November.

This was reportedly confirmed by Vice President of Enterprise Business Division at Samsung Canada, Paul Brannan, during a presentation at the Canadian Wireless Trade Show.  Apparently it is working with Google and local carriers to ensure a smooth rollout of Android 4.3, so its likely that it might happen in November. Samsung has taken a big decision by deciding that it will release Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2 in one swoop. However, the update is absolutely essential in a sense that its required by customers with these devices if they want to use a Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Galaxy S4 users might already be in luck, it was discovered yesterday that basic Galaxy Gear functions already work with Galaxy S4.

Galaxy Gear’s Basic Functions Already Compatible With Galaxy S4

When it unveiled the Galaxy Gear, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 earlier this month, Samsung said that its new smartwatch is currently only compatible with the new Note phablet and tablet. It said that support for Galaxy S4 and other devices will come after Android 4.3 update for them is released, which is expected to happen next month. However, it appears that the basic functions of Galaxy Gear are already functional with the Galaxy S4, regardless of the fact that the official update that is going to bring compatibility hasn’t been released yet.

A video has surfaced online which shows off the Galaxy Gear’s basic functions working fine with the Galaxy S4. The smartwatch connects to the smartphone without any problem. Basic functions such as changing clock theme, reminder alerts, picture transfer and control of music playing on the smartphone all work. However, at this point in time, app support only appears to be working with the Galaxy Note 3. Regardless, the new smartwatch already offers basic connectivity with the Galaxy S4 right now. Samsung has reportedly started testing the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4 and other devices, it is expected to release the update, which will bring Galaxy Gear compatibility in its entirety, next month.
