Whatever eLocity can do… Velocity Micro can do better? Maybe! The aforesaid company has just revealed a trio of new tablets: the 7-inch Cruz Tablet L37, the 8-inch Cruz Tablet P38 and the 10.1-inch Cruz Tablet L510. From smallest to largest, the L37 is equipped with a 1024 x 600 capacitive touchpanel, 802.11n WiFi, 4GB of internal memory, front / rear-facing cameras, optional 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and a micro-HDMI out port. The P38 is effectively the same, but it relies on a 1024 x 768 resolution display. The L510, as the resident Big Boy in the bunch, gets equipped with a 1366 x 768 resolution display, NVIDIA’s Tegra 250 chipset and a 1GHz dual-core CPU. The whole lot is expected to ship with Amazon’s Kindle app pre-installed, and Android 2.2 or 2.3 will be running the show. There’s no mention of exactly when these guys will be out and about, nor how much each will cost, but you can catch the full release just past the break.

Well, would you look at what we found hanging around Toshiba’s CES kick-off party. Okay, so Tosh’s still unnamed tablet wasn’t running Honeycomb like the final unit will, but Toshiba’s loaded Android 2.2 on there to give us a better idea of how it will work when it’s finally ready. There’s really not much we can say that we didn’t already say before — it’s still a very nicely made tablet and we’re really digging that rubberized back. As for the screen, the viewing angles were quite wide and Toshiba showed off its Resolution +, which will enhance video or photos on the fly to make them look more HDish. Along with Vizio’s new tablet, we had a chance to look at the HDTV maker’s new Android device, unsurprisingly dubbed the Vizio Phone. The phone is still in the early stages (both the hardware and software aren’t production ready at all), but there’s a lot of promise on both the industrial design and user interface sides. Pretty impressive, isn’t it? Meizu sure has made a wise decision to launch its M9 Android Froyo phone on the first day of 2011 which, like most other countries, happens to be a public holiday in China. According to some Meizu fans (aka “Mei-yo” or literally “friends of Meizu”) outside one of the two Shenzhen stores, there were already about 60 people lined up outside at around 6am. A few of them even braved the cold weather since 8pm last night, despite CEO Jack Wong actively discouraging such hustle on the forum for the sake of people’s health, promising “all the flagship stores will have sufficient stock” for all pre-orderers. Meizu wasn’t keen on giving us an official number, but the two Shenzhen stores alone could’ve easily served several thousand customers this morning. With no limit on how many units each person could pre-order (¥2,499 / $379 for 8GB, and ¥2,699 / $409 for 16GB), you can imagine Meizu’s assembly lines working long hours to supply its stores from 28 other provinces in China. Meanwhile, somewhere out there, Mr. Wong is happily checking his bank account. Video after the break.

Lookin’ to get a jump on the rest of the folks, eh Onkyo? Rather than waiting for CES to kick off next week, the aforementioned firm has just let loose its TA117, proving that it’s totally kosher with supporting both Microsoft and Google in the tablet wars. A duo of models will be made available — the TA117C3 and TA117C1 — with both of ’em getting a 10.1-inch touch panel (1024 x 600 resolution), Android 2.2, NVIDIA’s Tegra 250 (1GHz), 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, a microSD expansion slot, USB 2.0 connectivity (x2), HDMI out and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. There’s also a docking port to use with an optional stand, and if you’re looking to spot the differences between the two models, the C1 is home to 512MB of DDR2 RAM alongside 8GB of integrated storage, while the C3 doubles up with 1GB of memory and 16GB of NAND. There’s nary a word on price nor release, but we hear Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is now feeling a bit small. If you know what we’re getting at.
