New Angry Birds Seasons Game Expected Soon

Angry Birds Seasons titles are much loved by afficionados of the game. Rovio, the developer of this hugely popular franchise, has hinted that a new Seasons title is coming. The release will apparently be themed around the spring season and will be the 16th Angry Birds Seasons title. The release will correspond with the current season, just like all titles before it have. Apart from releasing a teaser image, Rovio hasn’t said much about this upcoming title.

One change to the leaderboards that was fan requested has been announced. Scores gained through power ups will appear differently and will be indicated as such after the release of this latest title. Rovio hasn’t said anything about the actual game, the text being sucked in to the vortex in this cryptic image might be a hint. Perhaps Angry Birds Seasons is getting blackholes, the ones we find in Angry Birds Space? The starry sky in this image hints that the title might be night themed. We only have this one single image to base all theories on. Rovio hasn’t said when it plans on releasing the new Seasons title.

Angry Birds Seasons updated with Winter Wonderham levels

Many players by now, we suspect, have completed the levels offered in Angry Birds Seasons and have probably managed to achieve three stars for each level in the process. If you’re itching for brand new content, you might be pleased to learn that Rovio has released an update for Angry Birds Seasons in the form of the Winter Wonderham update, in which Rovio will be releasing one level per day over the next 25 days. So apart from new scenery, what can gamers expect in this update? It seems that new gameplay mechanics will be introduced as this update will be taking place in the winter, which means that both the birds and the pigs will be sliding across the ice, adding some challenges and allowing for players to come up with some creative ways of winning each level in the process. There will be an additional 3 secret levels that players can unlock which in turn will earn them some “special wintry treats”. One level will be added per day until the 25th of December and will be free for download.

Pigs beware: Angry Birds Trilogy coming to 3DS, PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year

Despite already being a massive success story on the Android and iOS platforms, Rovio’s clearly not planning on slowing down its Angry Birds adventure any time soon. Speaking to IGN earlier today, the company’s Executive Vice President of Games, Petri Järvilehto, told the site that the Angry Birds Trilogy is headed — in physical form, no less — to the 3DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this holiday season. Sadly, Järvilehto didn’t say how much we’ll have to spend on the bird-slinging trilogy, or when exactly it’ll be available at retail shops — though he did say you should “think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition.” The Trilogy’s set to include the original Angry Birds title, Seasons and Rio, with the set expected to offer support for Kinect, Move and StreetPass on Nintendo’s three-dimensional handheld.
