Rovio has been teasing us over the past couple of weeks with gameplay videos which featured some familiar faces from the movie, such as Luke, Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Han Solo and Chewie along with pigs dressed as Storm Troopers. In any case if this is anything like the previous Angry Birds games, we guess Rovio’s got another hit on their hands. Angry Birds Star Wars will be compatible with mobile devices running on iOS, Android and Windows Phone, and will also be playable on the Kindle Fire, PC and Mac. If you’ve got three minutes to spare, perhaps you’ll want to check out the cinematic trailer above.

Angry Birds Star Wars adds scifi flavor to bird flinging, available today, we go handson

Finland’s biggest game studio is heading back into the coop, pulling out its Angry Birds franchise for yet another go on a whole mess of platforms — this time, even Windows 8 and its mobile counterpart get some attention. Moreover, Rovio’s teamed with the folks at LucasArts (now part of the Disney family) to craft an entirely thematic experience: enter Angry Birds Star Wars. But fret not — just because Angry Birds Star Wars seems like a shameless tie-in doesn’t mean it’s a bad game (it is, however, a shameless tie-in, no matter which way you cut it). In fact, it’s quite good, melding pieces of Angry Birds Space — arguably the best and most creative entry in the Angry Birds franchise — with new gameplay elements. Rather than birds which explode or other such modifiers, post-fling, Angry Birds Star Wars equips each of several themed birds with one weapon apiece. An Obi-Wan Kenobi-themed bird uses The Force to push enemies or blocks, while a Han Solo-themed bird fires three blasts from a space pistol, just to name a few.

That Angry Birds Space component is little more than gravity effects, but it helps to mix up the often redundant level design — if you’ve played more than one Angry Birds game, you’ve seen most of what’s on offer here. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, per se, but be forewarned if you’re expecting the kind of innovation we saw from Rovio’s last Angry Birds spinoff, Bad Piggies. Angry Birds Star Wars launches today on iOS ($0.99 / iPhone, $2.99 / iPad), Android (Free SD version, HD is $2.99), Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac ($4.99), PC, Windows Phone ($0.99), and Windows 8 ($4.99). Go after the break to check out the cinematic and gameplay trailers, along with the PR.

Angry Birds Star Wars official gameplay trailer launched

As promised, Rovio is now launching the official gameplay trailer for the Angry Birds Star Wars game. With its official launch just days away, Rovio, in partnership with Lucasfilm, published its official gameplay trailer today highlighting the details of the exciting game. Judging from the video, as seen above, it shows a few major characters in the Star Wars franchise depicted as birds having their own set of unique powers and abilities.

For example, the red-colored Luke Skywalker bird has a lightsaber to slice down its enemies while the yellow-colored Han Solo bird is equipped with a blaster to knock down targets. There’s also the hooded Obi-Wan Kenobi bird who possesses ”Jedi” powers and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO that ca electrocute anything along its path. Angry Birds Star Wars is coming to iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Kindle Fire, Mac, and PC on November 8. For now, you can watch the official gameplay trailer above. Cheers! And may the birds be with you!

Darth Vader and Obi-Wan featured in latest Angry Birds Star Wars trailer

So far we’ve seen characters from Star Wars make their way into the Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay videos, such as Luke and Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2, Han Solo and Chewie, and it looks like the final two characters have been revealed prior to its 8th of November release. Yup it looks like in its last gameplay video, Darth Vader and Obi-Wan make their appearance. We’re not too sure what the Obi-Wan bird will do in the game since no actual “power” were revealed in the video, and Darth Vader appears to be one of the pigs (the king we’re assuming) so we’re not sure if he’s just really hard to kill or if he has some sort of power himself. In any case the game will be released on the 8th of November so if this sounds like an iteration of Angry Birds you’d love to get your hands on, you’ll want to mark that date down. Until then an official gameplay trailer will be released on the 5th of November so check back with us later for updates!

Han Solo and Chewie make an appearance in latest Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay trailer

So yesterday we saw another gameplay trailer for Rovio’s upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars which featured R2-D2 and C-3PO. Well another gameplay trailer has since been released, and this time it stars none other than Han Solo and Chewie, giving gamers a glimpse at what those particular birds can do. Han Solo will be able to fire lasers from his gun mid-air, while Chewie appears to be pure brute strength and will basically smash through pigs and structures. The game is scheduled for a release on the 8th of November so if you like what you’ve seen so far, you might want to mark that date down on your calendar. Until then hopefully the gameplay trailer in the video above will be enough to keep you entertained.

New Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay trailer released featuring R2-D2 and C-3PO

Angry Birds Star Wars is expected to be released on the 8th of November, and so far we’ve seen several teaser trailers, although a couple of days ago was when we managed to get a first look at the gameplay which featured lasers and light sabers along with the usual assortment of birds and pigs. Well if you were looking for more info about what else you might be able to expect from the game upon its release, Rovio has revealed yet another gameplay video. This time around, instead of featuring the Angry Birds version of Luke and Leia, it instead features R2-D2 and C-3PO. C-3PO will be able to blow up enemy pigs and structures, while R2-D2 will have the ability to electrocute nearby enemies. Other than that, we also got a glimpse at the space level which we have to admit isn’t surprising and it should feature the same physics from the Angry Birds Space game. Either way if you have a minute to spare, check it out in the video above.

Angry Birds Star Wars first gameplay video released

Following the series of Angry Birds Star Wars trailers this month, Rovio is now giving us a glimpse of the game’s tactical aspects by releasing its first ever gameplay footage on YouTube. The short video, as seen above, shows Luke slashing through the walls of the “bad piggies” in a spectacular Jedi knight-ish fashion. And yes, he’s got a lightsaber weapon too.

There’s also Leia, the previously teased female character, who seem to posses mind powers that can cut through the heart. Rovio says that the official gameplay trailer will be out this coming November 5. The Angry Birds Star Wars game will be available beginning November 8. “Don’t worry, you’ll be slinging birds and waving Lightsabers around in no time! Until then, we’ll have animations, comics and fan art to keep you going on our http://angrybirds.tumblr.com page,” Rovio said.

New Angry Birds Star Wars teaser trailer revealed

Last week Rovio released a trailer for their upcoming game, Angry Birds Star Wars. It seems like the developer is really pushing the marketing on this upcoming variation really hard as they have since released a new trailer for the game. Unfortunately this trailer still does not give us any idea of what to expect in terms of gameplay, but it does show off an Angry Bird decked out in a Stormtrooper costume, which we have to admit looked more like a pig rather than a Stormtrooper. Either way we’re not sure what is the significance of this – perhaps we might have Angry Birds slingshotting themselves as Stormtroopers? Either way the game is set for a release on the 8th of November so we guess more details will be revealed then. In the meantime we guess you can check out the teaser trailer in the video above just to whet your appetite for what’s to come.

Rovio releases new Angry Birds Star Wars teaser trailer

Rovio has come up with many different variations for their Angry Birds franchise, and a while back Angry Birds Star Wars was revealed to be the latest version of Angry Birds that is expected to be made available come 8th of November. Details of the game and the gameplay are a bit scarce at the moment, but it has not stopped Rovio from teasing gamers with trailers, and in the latest teaser trailer it doesn’t really tell us anything – instead it just whets our appetite for the game and the desire for more information! In any case in this video we are introduced to an Angry Birds Millennium Falcon which we are sincerely hoping will be playable in the game, so check it out in the video above and check back with us at a later date for more details!

Feel the Force: Angry Birds Star Wars coming November 8th to iOS, Android, WP, Kindle Fire and computers

Rovio teased a certain film-inspired Angry Birds picture a long, long last week, and as expected, it’s another new game — Angry Birds Star Wars. Our furious feathered friends are assuming the likenesses of characters from the epic saga, with the trusty Red Bird taking on Luke Skywalker’s role. It wouldn’t be the Rebel Alliance without a dark side to fight, which is where the Pigs fit into the storyline; even the music and levels for gravity-based play will hark back to the film franchise. In addition to the software, details of related merchandise have also been uncovered, including table games, toys and costumes. The game is out on November 8th for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Kindle Fire and computers, and if it follows the original storyline, we wonder how Red Bird’s going to feel about his porcine family history.
