Can you feel it? The anticipation’s building for Expand NY, thanks in no small part to our fantastic lineup of speakers that includes LeVar Burton, Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky and Master Modder Ben Heck. Well, the list of luminaries just got longer and more lustrous. We’re thrilled that Joi Ito, Director of the famed MIT Media Lab and Sonny Vu, CEO and Founder of Misfit Wearables will be joining us in New York. Equally exciting will be the presence of Inhabitat.com Editor-in-Chief Jill Fehrenbacher, Memoto co-founder Oskar Kalmaru and Pat Yongpradit, the Director of Education for Code.org. Get pumped, people, it’s only a couple months until you get to see them all live in Gotham.

Working on The Engadget Show has afforded us the opportunity to travel all over, in search of the best tech stories we can sniff out. In our travels, we’ve encountered some amazing individuals who are using technology in exciting and unusual ways. They’re the inspiration for our newest series, Peripheral Vision. The show is a weekly look at the people powered by technology: artists, scientists, musicians, broadcasters and others who have given us fresh perspective on the way we interact with our electronics.

We’re kicking the series off with a bang, a magical ride around San Francisco in the Volkswagen Lightmobile with artist Eric Staller. You can check out that inaugural episode here.
