Angry Birds Star Wars Available For Blackberry 10

Angry Birds Star Wars 602x255 Angry Birds Star Wars Available For Blackberry 10We know that RIM plans to have at least 70,000 apps at Blackberry 10’s launch which will be taking place in a few hours and while having a larger quantity of apps is one thing, it’s another to have quality apps. After all no one really cares for an app store full of subpar apps and hastily thrown together ones, right? While it remains to be seen as to which quality and big name apps will be making its way onto Blackberry 10, those planning to get their hands on a Blackberry 10 device might be interested to learn that Rovio has revealed that they will be supporting Blackberry 10 with the Angry Birds Star Wars game which is currently priced at $0.99 on Blackberry World.

Of course we’re not saying that customers will be flocking to Blackberry 10 just for Angry Birds Star Wars, but given that the Angry Birds franchise has to be one of the most popular mobile games since its launch, having it attached to Blackberry 10 is at the very least a good sign of quality, big name apps that we might be able to expect. Either way hopefully RIM will be announcing some of these big name apps at its event which will be taking place at 10AM ET, so check back with us then for the details!

Real Racing 2 To Arrive For Nokia Lumia Devices Soon

real racing 2 640x312 Real Racing 2 To Arrive For Nokia Lumia Devices SoonIf you own a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone device and you were looking forward to playing more games on your phone, you might be pleased to learn that it looks like Real Racing 2 will be available for download pretty soon! The game was spotted recently on Xbox360Achievements which supposedly is an indication that the game should be close to being released. Real Racing 2 is also one of the 11 exclusive Electronic Arts games that Nokia has managed to secure, and at this point in time it is unclear how long non-Nokia Windows Phone devices will have to wait before the game is available for them. This is pretty cool because we have to admit that Real Racing has to be one of the better looking games available for mobile devices these days and after being available on both iOS and Android, we guess it’s about time that Windows Phone (Nokia devices at least) got some love. In any case if you can’t wait to get your hands on the game, keep an eye out for it because presumably it shouldn’t be too long before it is available!

Sending Secret Encrypted Text Messages on Your iPhone Just Got Easier

One thing your iPhone could be better at: sending secret encrypted messages (aka for sexting and/or illicit relationships). The regular messages app leaves everything hanging out in the open! Text Fortress is an app that encrypts the messages you send and locks them down so only the person you sent it to, can see it. More »

Everything Wrong with Windows Phone 8, Illustrated in One App Update

The Amazon Kindle app for Windows Phone 8 got an update today. It’s a good one, too, fixing the awful three-sided letterboxing and giving the app a more Metro-y tile. But it’s massively late, and tripped over itself coming out the gate, too. In a way, it’s a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with Windows Phone 8 so far. More »

500px back in iTunes App Store after pornography debacle

After the popular photo-sharing app 500px was bumped out of Apple’s iTunes App Store for containing pornography, the app is back up with a few changes. The developers behind the app have added a couple of new features that aim to target inappropriate content. The app now has a report button, as well as a mature content warning for those who don’t want surprises.

The updated version of the app is rated for users ages 17 and up, and it adds a “Report this photo” button to help filter out inappropriate content. However, the app still has a category for “Nude” photos for logged-in users, which is surprising since Apple seems to give it the all clear, despite the app still contains adult content, but we suppose the restrictions and the warnings were good enough for the Cupertino-based company.

The removal of 500px last week came right before a huge fiasco with Twitter’s new Vine app, which let’s users record six-second videos to post to their accounts. Vine has been having its own porn problem lately, and while it hasn’t been pulled from the iTunes App Store, it was removed from Apple’s “Editor Choice” category.

The updated 500px app also got a few improvements along with the changes to its content. The update fixes an issue that would automatically redirect a user after logging in, and it also addresses a problem that resulted in only partially downloaded photos. Users should be seeing the app back in the app store as we speak.

500px Is Back in the App Store After All the Porn Bullshit

Holy crap, boobs! Apple last week excommunicated 500px, a photo-sharing app, from the App Store because apparently it made it too easy for people to find nudie pics. Looks like it’s been cleansed and baptized, though, because Apple has welcomed 500px back into the fold. More »
