Huawei Ascend P1 Spotted On Amazon For $450

ascend p1 Huawei Ascend P1 Spotted On Amazon For $450It does seem to us as though the Huawei Ascend P1 has already arrived Stateside after being spotted over at Amazon with a price tag amounting to $450 a pop. The Huawei Ascend P1 will feature a 4.3” Super AMOLED display, and measures roughly 7.69mm thin to make it one extremely svelte smartphone device at this point in time. Just for the record, the Huawei Ascend P1 debuted at CES in 2012, and managed to jump through all the standard regulatory hurdles in May last year, and it is nice to see that it has finally arrived at its intended destination, that is, the US market, hitting Amazon from today onwards at $449.99 per unit.

At that particular price point, it would mean you will be able to purchase the smartphone in an unlocked format, where it will play nice on either AT&T or T-Mobile networks. Some of the other hardware specifications of the Huawei Ascend P1 include an 8-megapixel camera, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board and 5.1-channel Dolby Surround Sound support.

How would you change the Huawei Ascend P1?

How would you change the Huawei Ascend P1

2012 was the year Huawei stepped out of the OEM shadows and make a “name” for itself. That hasn’t been the smoothest process, but political wrangling aside, what about the phones themselves? Huawei’s Ascend P1 has a slender body (and a chubby camera module), marred by a flimsy plastic shell and 4GB of on-board storage. However, it more than made up for its failings in the performance stakes, but what did you think about it? Did you buy one, and if so, what would you change?

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE named as EE exclusive in UK, other markets to follow

If you’d wondered what Huawei might bring to the table for the launch of the UK’s newly-minted 4G network, your time is up, as the Ascend P1 LTE has been revealed as a national exclusive for EE, with availability in other markets to follow. Like its forebear, the handset features Android 4.0 alongside a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display and an 8-megapixel camera, although as a nice surprise, it’ll also come with a beefier 2,000mAh battery. There’s no word yet on pricing for the latest entrant, although it seems a safe assumption that all will be revealed in rather short order. In the meantime, you’ll find the remaining details in the PR after the break.

Huawei Ascend P1 will be overhauled for European market

For those living in Europe and who are looking forward to getting their hands on the CES-announced Huawei Ascend P1, you might be in for a treat as it seems that Huawei will be giving the handset a little upgrade before it makes its full scale launch. According to Huawei, this upgrade will be giving the phone a more “premium” feel although we’re not sure exactly what they mean by that. However one thing is certain is that the phone will be getting a bump in its battery, changing it from the original 1,670mAh capacity to a slight larger one at 1,800mAh. We expect details of this overhaul will be revealed once it has been made, but as it stands the Ascend P1 is an Android 4.0 ICS handset with a 4.3” Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. Not exactly the most powerful phone we’ve seen, but with its hardware overhaul perhaps it might make it a more attractive purchase.

Huawei's Ascend P1 makes its way to the UK

Huawei’s Ascend P1 is making its way to the UK (and Canada) just in time for the country’s belated summer. The 7.7mm (with a hump) dual-core handset packs a 4.3-inch qHD display and the same CPU as the Galaxy Nexus — so while it won’t catch the One X napping, it’s no slouch either. It looks like the company had an eye on gazumping budget rival ZTE, which unveiled its Grand X yesterday, undercutting it by a solitary pound. It’s arriving on Wind from today, free with a $49 contract and Vodafone in August, free on plans costing £26 or more a month.
