Ubisoft States They Will Hesitate To Delay An Assassin’s Creed Game If They Feel It’s Not Ready

Ubisoft States They Will Hesitate To Delay An Assassins Creed Game If They Feel Its Not ReadyWe know that Ubisoft has plans to release Assassin’s Creed on an annual basis, which some aren’t exactly too thrilled about since it does feel like they could be rushing out a game for the sake of it. However Ubisoft has recently stated that they will not be releasing any Assassin’s Creed game if they feel that it is not good enough, and will have no qualms in delaying it until it is fixed. This is a response to some who felt that last year’s Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed 3, was a bit rushed due to the numerous bugs and glitches that were found within the game.

According to a statement released by Ubisoft, “If we think we’ve ended up with a 70 percent Assassin’s Creed game, we’re not going to ship it. That damages the brand. I’m not going to give you the names of products, because you know them as well as I do, but if you start to make games at 70 percent, even with a big brand, eventually people are going to change their mind about that brand. They won’t want it anymore.”

While Ubisoft was not explicit in naming names, chances are they could be talking about EA’s Battlefield 4, where the publisher is currently looking at a lawsuit over the game’s bugginess, which was a stark contrast from the confidence EA exuded when making statements about the game prior to its release. In any case hopefully Ubisoft and other developers will learn from EA’s predicament.

Assassin’s Creed 4 Receives First DLC Today

Assassins Creed 4 Receives First DLC TodayFans of Assassin’s Creed 4, here is some good news to help you start the day right – the first DLC for the gaming franchise is made available already, and do bear in mind that this DLC will concentrate on just the multiplayer aspect, so do not get too excited if you prefer to fly it solo most of the time. The DLC, known as Blackbeard’s Wrath, will see the introduction of a trio of new characters to the roster, where they will obviously include the notorious Blackbeard himself, accompanied by a pair of rather stereotypical ethnic characters.

The other two choices apart from Blackbeard would be the the Chinese and Aztec Assassins. One of them has been given the name “The Orchid,” while the other is better known as “The Jaguar”, and without having to let you know which is which, you would already be able to figure out the owner of the respective monikers. Just a quick note – folks who already have the Black Flag Season Pass, you would not need to fork out a single cent for the DLC. As for the rest of the masses (meaning those who own a PC, Xbox or PlayStation console), it will cost you $2.99 a pop.

Assassin’s Creed 4 On PS4 Will Renders At 900p, Native 1080p Coming Soon

Assassins Creed 4 On PS4 Will Renders At 900p, Native 1080p Coming SoonThe world of video games have certainly come a long way since it first enthralled the minds of kids and adults alike, and we have moved from CGA graphics to modern day Full HD interpretations of the real world. In fact, Assassin’s Creed 4 is said to render at 900p, which would have been unthinkable of just half a decade ago, and we also have word that there will be a future update which will boost this to native 1080p, now how about that? This would truly help you maximize the use of your Full HD TV in your living room, wouldn’t it?

Ubisoft has also revealed that players are required to download a title update which is coming shortly after the release in order to enjoy the full 1080p native resolution. Heck, I am quite sure that without the title update, most folks would already be taken in by the stunning visuals when playing the game on next-gen consoles, and it would be pretty difficult for the untrained eye to tell whether there is any difference between 900p and 1080p when playing. Apart from 1080p resolution with the title update, it will also introduce a new anti-aliasing technique which is touted to deliver an even cleaner, clearer and more brilliant moving image.

Assassin’s Creed Movie in the Works: Hits Theaters August 7, 2015

I didn’t even know they were working on a movie for Assassin’s Creed. I’m always leery to hear a movie studio is producing a movie based on a video game. It’s not that I don’t think video games don’t have a good enough story to make a movie because many do. However, the long, sordid history of video game-based movies proves that making good movie based on a game is very difficult to do.

Regardless of past history, an Assassin’s Creed movie is in the works and was recently given a release date of August 7, 2015. The movie has a big name actor attached with Michael Fassbender. Presumably, Fassbender will be the lead character of Desmond Miles, but that is unannounced.

The screenplay is being handled by a British writer named Michael Leslie who has a background in short films and theater. The film is being developed by production studio new Regency along with Ubisoft Motion Pictures. Ubisoft notes that it has creative control over the project and that the movie will “respect the lore and fans of the video game franchise.” It’s unclear which video game in the franchise the film might be based on.

Assassin’s Creed Movie Delayed To August 2015

Assassins Creed Movie Delayed To August 2015Movies that are inspired by video games? Mortal Kombat did not fare too well on the silver screen, and recently, we have heard that Temple Run might actually be turned into a movie as well thanks to the folks over at Warner Bros. Well, it seems that Temple Run is not the only game to receive the movie treatment in the near future, as 20th Century Fox too, wants in on the action by adapting Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed and the Independence Day sequel. It will surely offer a far more solid backdrop for a story compared to Temple Run, but we have just received word that it will delay its silver screen debut. Instead of kicking off on June 19th, 2015 in the US, it has been pushed back to August 7th, a date that right now, remains unchallenged.

Will this particular title be a hit when it finally arrives? Who knows, as with Prometheus and X-Men star Michael Fassbender acting and co-producing the movie, it might on track for a stellar release. Basically, do you have much faith in movies that were spawned because of a video game inspiration? I mean, Doom did not do too well either, despite having the pulling power of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Modern Day Assassin’s Creed Will Not Happen Anytime Soon

Modern Day Assassins Creed Will Not Happen Anytime SoonUbisoft’s Assassin’s Creed has typically been set in a historical setting, even though the game is decidedly modern (Assassin’s Creed players know what I’m talking about), but have you ever wondered if Ubisoft would eventually develop an Assassin’s Creed title that would bring it to the modern world? Perhaps it would be cool to see Assassin’s running along the rooftops of today’s buildings and fight modern enemies, but unfortunately if that sounds like an Assassin’s Creed title you’d love to get your hands on, it will not be happening anytime soon. This is according to Assassin’s Creed 4’s lead writer, Darby McDevitt in a Reddit AMA session.

According to McDevitt, “I doubt we would do a modern day AC […] There are just too many mechanics we would have to develop to make it believeable [sic] … vehicles, plausible modern cities, a huge array of ranged weapons, etc. The modern day will most likely remain as a “context” for all future games, something to tie them all together.” While McDevitt does not completely discount the idea, it just will not be happening anytime soon, but like he said, perhaps towards the end to act as a culmination of all the Assassin’s Creed stories to tie things up, but what do you guys think? Would you like to see a modern day Assassin’s Creed?
