Ubisoft Believes Assassin’s Creed Gamers Will Let Them Know When They Tire Of The Franchise

Ubisoft Believes Assassins Creed Gamers Will Let Them Know When They Tire Of The FranchiseAt the rate Ubisoft is releasing Assassin’s Creed games, we’re sure many are worried that the franchise might get too diluted and that gamers will get sick of the game pretty fast. While we’re sure that some gamers are a little bored of the franchise, Ubisoft does not seem too worried about fans getting tired of the franchise. Speaking to Eurogamer, Ubisoft seems to be under the impression that if and when fans tire of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, they will let Ubisoft know. Until then, Ubisoft has no plans to stop the yearly releases of Assassin’s Creed games.

According to Ubisoft Montreal head, Yannis Mallat, he claims that there are more players coming into the franchise and he does not see the day where Ubisoft has to end the franchise anytime soon.  ”When you have quality content, the frequency of coming out with the game is not an issue at all. On the contrary, people expect more and more of that content. So, it’s natural to be able to provide that content. The gamers are happy, and it’s our job to make them happy.” What do you guys think? Do you agree with Mallat that it’s the quality and not the frequency that matters? Or are you sick of the franchise already?

Assassin’s Creed 4 First Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Underwater Exploration

Up until today, we’ve seen Assassin’s Creed 4 in various screenshots as well as some teaser videos showing its in-game engine, but we have yet to see any official gameplay footage. Ubisoft has finally delivered the games first official gameplay trailer, and as you would expect, it looks pretty awesome.

The gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4 follows Captain Edward Kenway, who is the assassin / pirate you’ll be playing as in this title. In addition to the already expected maneuvering through the world at a freerunner’s pace as well as taking down enemies with a stab here and a pistol shot there, Assassin’s Creed 4 will include underwater explorations which include some impressive visuals. The sea’s wildlife, such as sharks, will keep you on your toes and may have you rethinking about going in the water again. (more…)

Assassin’s Creed 3: The Betrayal DLC Arrives

Assassin’s Creed 3: The Betrayal DLC ArrivesThe Betrayal – a name that is more often than not associated with those who walk in the corridors of power, but this time around it has a whole lot less to do with politics, and leans more towards the side of gaming. Assassin’s Creed 3, a game that has already picked up its fair share of bouquets from the gaming masses, has just received The Betrayal, which is the second chapter in the game’s The Tyranny of King Washington single-player DLC series.

The Betrayal is made available via PSN, and here goes the background story. Trapped in captivity by the vicious King Washington, Ratonhnhaké:ton has to do his bit and summon all ingenuity to free himself and look for assistance in overthrowing Washington’s ruthless machinations. Just like the Power of the Wolf, Power of the Eagle also has a couple of different uses, where it lets Ratonhnhaké:ton soar from one location to another quickly and invisibly as a ghostly eagle, as well as the offensive Eagle Strike that lets you power dive into a foe.

Assassin’s Creed 2 Gets Edited In A Movie By A Fan With Impressive Results

Back in 2012, a very dedicated Unchartered fan turned all three games into movies by editing the cut scenes and putting them all together. Now the same guy is back except this time, he has decided to turn Assassin’s Creed 2 into a feature length movie instead. For those who enjoy the story aspect of gaming more than the actual gameplay itself, this is for you, although you will have to sit through 3 hours’ worth of footage in order to know everything, which we guess might actually take less time than playing the entire game yourself. Made by Andy Gilleand, we have to say that this piece is just as impressive, if not more so, than his Unchartered movies, so if you have 3 hours to spare, do check it out in the video above. In the meantime we have to wonder if this fan-made movie will be able to hold up to the live action movie that will be arriving in cinemas come 2014.

Assassin’s Creed 4 Being Developed By Nearly 1000 People Across 7 Studios

Assassins Creed 4 Being Developed By Nearly 1000 People Across 7 Studios

There’s no doubt Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed 4 is already a highly-anticipated game even after being announced just a few weeks ago. We know we can expect there to be a lot of pirates, naval combat and even a healthy dose of whaling. With how much content we can already expect in the game, it’s no wonder to hear Ubisoft is tapping seven different studios to help create the game.

Yes – you read that right. Ubisoft has seven different development studios helping with Assassin’s Creed 4. The company usually had one rather large team within one studio handling all of the work for the next Assassin’s Creed game. Assassin’s Creed 4 will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Kiev, Quebec and Signapore, who will handle the game’s main campaign. Ubisoft Sofia will handle the modern day scenarios, while Ubisoft Annecy and Bucharest will work on the game’s multiplayer.

Having several studios working together to produce an Assassin’s Creed game will hopefully result in a memorable game when it’s released later this year. Which reminds me, I really need to play through Assassin’s Creed 3 if I’m ever to keep up with what goes on in Assassin’s Creed 4.

Screenshot From Assassin’s Creed Unknowingly Used By News Station As Backdrop

Screenshot From Assassins Creed Unknowingly Used By News Station As BackdropBack when I was a kid, I used to think that the backgrounds used by the news on TV were real, as in it was a huge window and that it was an actual view of the city behind the reports. Then I grew up and discovered the magic of the green/blue screen and realized that those images were imposed to mimic scenery in real life. However it seems that some product assistant must have gotten confused between real life and a game because during a new reports on Denmark’s TV2, a screenshot from Assassin’s Creed was actually used as the background image meant to depict the skyline of Syria some 720 years ago.

The image was apparently taken from the game’s unofficial Wiki site and if you have not played the game before and weren’t exactly familiar with the world’s history, then we guess you could be forgiven for thinking it was an actual depiction as opposed to a screenshot from a game. This isn’t the first time a news publication has gotten things mixed up as the BBC back in May of 2012 used the insignia of Halo’s United Nations Space Command.

Mysterious Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix Screenshot Spotted

Mysterious Assassins Creed: Rising Phoenix Screenshot Spotted

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was announced towards the end of February and is slated for a release on the 31st of October, but thanks to the folks at All Games Beta, they have managed to get their hands on a screenshot that shows a new title, “Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix”. Given that Black Flag will be Ubisoft’s latest title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, many are wondering what Rising Phoenix could be about. Some are speculating it might be a comic book, while others think that maybe it could even be a film, but either way according to the picture, it says that it is for internal use only.

Of course there is a chance that this could be some prototype game that Ubisoft worked on but never released, or it could be a spin-off like Brotherhood or Revelations which seems more likely. In any case Ubisoft hasn’t had much luck with curbing their leaks so far, so hopefully they will step forward with additionaldetails in the near future. In the meantime what do you guys think Rising Phoenix could be about?

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Headed For PS4

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag Headed For PS4Sure, you must have seen all two trailers of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag earlier this morning, with a story on leaked screenshots of the game sandwiched in between, but is that all the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag that you can stomach at the moment? Hopefully the answer is in the negative, considering how we have one more bit on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag which will definitely have you sit up and perk your ears. It seems that this title will also be ported over to the upcoming PS4 which has yet to be officially released, let alone seen.

I guess this would mean those who missed the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag boat this time around on current generation hardware need not fret, as they should be able to enjoy the same title on next generation hardware down the road, assuming everything goes on fine and dandy, and there are no kinks that come into the way. Stories of a ported game for the PS4? This means the PS4 is very, very real.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag To Launch On 29th October

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag To Launch On 29th OctoberJust yesterday Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was announced. This was hot on the heels of the leaked poster that revealed the existence of the game. According to the official announcement, Black Flag will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U, but what about upcoming consoles like the PlayStation 4 or Microsoft’s rumored Xbox 720? Will they be getting a shot at Black Flag as well? Well thanks to the countdown page, a release date might have let out of the bag a bit earlier than expected, putting the release date for the game for the 29th of October and according to the text, it will be available for next-gen consoles as well.

Navigating to the countdown page now will just show you a page where the world premiere trailer will kick off in 4 days’ time, but we guess there was a bug earlier that allowed viewers to skip past that page to show off the release date. Fortunately for Ubisoft the trailer was not leaked, but we guess we know have a date to look forward to. Hopefully that will be the date Ubisoft will be sticking to, but we guess we will have to wait 4 days in order to confirm that, so check back with us then for the trailer and additional details.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Introduces Swashbuckling Pirate Adventures

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag Introduces Swashbuckling Pirate Adventures

The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag posters that were leaked yesterday turned out to be promotional materials for the next Assassin’s Creed game now that Ubisoft has confirmed the game by releasing its official box art.

The box art image released by Ubisoft shows the new Assassin that we could expect to be featured in the game on the front and is equipped with a ton of weaponry. We can see he has three guns attached to him, a cutlass and, of course, the iconic Assassin’s Creed hidden dagger located on his right forearm. In the background, we can see the Assassin is aboard a pirate ship, which would lead us to believe he is, indeed, a pirate assassin. Take that, ninjas! (more…)
