Wii U titles listed on Amazon let us see Nintendo's allnew packaging design

Although it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Nintendo would be redesigning its software packaging to accommodate the new “U,” it’s still nice to get an early peek at what we can expect from the Japanese gaming giant come “this holiday” season. As you can tell by the Avengers: Battle for Earth title above, the design only sees slight changes near the top, where it’s clearly left the white and gray accents for a more colorful blue and yellow coating — not to mention the expected addition of the Wii U branding around the center. There are other games out in the Amazon wild besides the Marvel one here, including Just Dance 4 and Assassin’s Creed 3. You can check those out at any of the source links below.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Wolf Pack co-op multiplayer is in the pipeline

There were rumors in the past concerning a co-op multiplayer mode in Assassin’s Creed 3, but so far nothing has been substantiated just yet. Well, I guess it is a great way to end the week on a good note with word that the co-op multiplayer mode is indeed real in Assassin’s Creed 3. This particular multiplayer mode that requires you and a teammate (or another 3) to work together is known as the Wolf Pack, where it is capable of supporting up to a quartet of players as your entire team work together in tracking down and assassinating NPCs through the entire slew of 25 sequences.

It does seem to be a spin on the standard Assassin’s Creed multiplayer, where Wolf Pack was first revealed at Comic Con and and picked up by IGN managed to sniff down the expansion pack. Assassin’s Creed 3 is tipped to arrive at the end of October on both the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms, while those who want to play it on the Wii U will just have to wait until the console launches. Those who want to rock to the PC version will have to wait until right before Christmas.

Assassin’s Creed Tomahawk Replica: Too Legit to Play with It

You’ve got your hands – or wrist – on a replica of the hidden blade. Now pretend to be any of the Assassins from the Brotherhood. But if you’re aiming for a Connor impression, you’ll also need this: a replica of his distinctive tomahawk.

With its link-baiting name – “Assassin’s Tomahawk – Honor the Creed” – I thought that this unofficial replica would be a shabby product. Boy was I wrong. It’s actually very authentic, i.e. it’s a real freakin’ axe. It measures 17.5″, and it has a sharp steel blade and a wooden handle.

The fake leather grip, feather charm and decorations finish off the look.

Deals Only is selling the replica for $40 (USD). Remember, you can’t buy replicas of lives – not yet anyway – so be careful where you swing this.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Rise trailer released

Despite being just another game in a long-running franchise, Assassin’s Creed 3 is probably one of the most anticipated games to be released this year. With all the hype built up over the past few months, and especially its numerous E3 awards, a lot of folks are dying to get their hands on the game. Well, if you’re one of them you’ll still have to wait for October 31st. However, to somewhat sate your appetite or make the wait a little more bearable, a new trailer for the game has been released today.

Unfortunately it’s not action-packed like the previously released footage we’ve seen before, but it does show off how much money went into the game’s advertising budget. Either way, it’s a pretty entertaining video to kickstart your Wednesday. Check it out above.

Assassin’s Creed hidden blade replica available for $40 at Gamestop

Although it’s not the first time we have seen a replica hidden blade before from Assasin’s Creed, it is the first time that one has been made available for sale to the public. The  ”role play” hidden blade gauntlet is made by prop maker NECA and will be sold exclusively at Gamestop. Parents need not to worry as the blade is made of PVC and ABS plastic as opposed to steel like the real one in the game, so one can only do so much damage with it. The blade stays onto your wrist thanks to a belt and some velcro straps.

If you are doubting the blade’s ability then go ahead and check out Gamestop’s demo video. The spring definitely allows for quick access to the blade. This hidden blade is modeled after Ezio’s one, not Altair’s. This hidden blade would most definitely make a great addition to any Ezio halloween costume or would just be cool to show off to your friends. If you’re interested, you can pre-order the blade for $40 from Gamestop with a release date of 10/30/2012.

Assassin’s Creed Hidden Blade Gauntlet Replica Can Be Yours for a Brotherly Price

You can easily find instructions to make your own Assassin’s Creed-style hidden blade, but if you don’t have the skills to put one together, check out this life-sized replica by prop maker NECA. It’s not made from steel, but I think we can all agree that that’s a plus.

The replica is based on the armored vambrace worn by the assassin so nice you played as him thrice Ezio Auditore in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. It’s made of PVC and ABS plastic, has buckle and velcro straps and a scary effective spring loaded mechanism that pops the blade out quite quickly.

Yikes. Even if it has a safety lock I’d be more comfortable if the blade was on the upper part of the gauntlet, Wolvie style. You can pre-order the replica from GameStop – where assassins shop and trade-in second hand weapons – for only $40 (USD). Reckless play will cost you a lot more than that.
