Motorola Atrix 2 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update hits AT&T subscribers

Atrix 2 Review

Motorola’s Social Networks app works very well to check on updates, comment and like

Near the end of last month, we talked about how Motorola officially announced the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update which is making its way towards the Motorola Atrix 2 smartphone – not too shabby for a device that is more than a year old. Well, AT&T subscribers, heads up – the Atrix 2 will be on the receiving end of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update, where upon applying this update, it should make your device a whole lot easier to use – not to mention more powerful than you thought.

Some of the features include an improved browser with better page loading, tabbed browsing, offline reading and desktop mode. You will also be able to take advantage of the new lock/unlock features, ranging from the ability to unlock straight to the camera amongst other functionalities. You will be able to perform the update on the handset itself, preferably using a Wi-Fi connection by going to Settings > About phone > System updates.

Motorola Atrix 2 gets Android 4.0.4 ICS update

Atrix 2 Review

Motorola’s Social Networks app works very well to check on updates, comment and like

Good news Motorola Atrix 2 owners, it looks like if you were hoping for an official Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for your device, it looks like you’re in luck as Motorola has officially announced the update. It was hinted earlier that the update was on its way but it started as a soak test, but we guess it is now official. The update will introduce the usual Android 4.0 ICS features but if you’d like the full rundown of the features and enhancements that the update will bring to your phone, you can pop on over to Motorola’s website for the details. The update will be pushed out OTA and if you haven’t received the message to update yet, fret not as we expect that it is being rolled out in stages. Alternatively you can try to pull the update manually by going to your “About Phone” and “System Updates”.
