JayBird launches BlueBuds X in-ear Bluetooth headphones for $169.95

If you thought JayBird’s Freedom Sprint headphones were the only pair the company had planned for release this year, think again. Today marks the launch of BlueBuds X, an in-ear Bluetooth set with a microphone for taking calls, and a selection of the company’s trademarked features. “Shift” technology promises lossless decompression of audio, while “PureSound” filters out white noise present in the vocal range. The headphones also boast “SignalPlus” to ensure stable pairing, the secure fit wings you see above so they stay nice and snug, and an eight-hour battery life. As usual, JayBird is targeting BlueBuds X at the fitness and sports market, but we reckon they’ll probably work just as well outside of the gym. If you fancy picking up a pair, then head to the source link below to order them in “Midnight Black” or “Storm White” for $169.95 a piece.

Apple’s iTunes 11 could be released as soon as today [Rumor]

Last week we reported that iTunes 11 could be launching in a few days’ time, and it looks like that could be the case and if the folks at the Wall Street Journal have it right, iTunes 11 could be launching as soon as today. As some of you guys remember, iTunes 11 was expected to be launched towards the end of October, but due to delays, Apple pushed the release to November, which makes it launch today make so much more sense. iTunes 11 is expected to be a major revamp and will introduce a new user interface and enhanced iCloud integration, although if it does launch today, we expect that we will get the full run down of its changes and new features. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for the update, so check back with us later on in the day to see if it pans out!

Super Guitar Licks Rock Star Jacket Lights Up Any Concert

A rock concert is nothing if there are no crazy costumes, loud music, a banging performance and fantastic tunes and riffs, although you are always more than welcome to leave out the bat biting finale. Well, the only way you can get away from wearing strange looking costumes and yet pass off as being perfectly normal or even cool, would be in a music video, or in a concert as a celebrity. Fashion designer Christian Joy might be on to something here, as she is famous for her eclectic range of stage costumes for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and recently she was challenged by silicon giants Intel to come up with something that would reshape her world with nothing more than an Ultrabook. Her effort gave birth to this design project known as the Super Guitar Licks Rock Star Jacket, which currently falls under the prototype stage.

Basically, the Super Guitar Licks Rock Star Jacket functions as a denim jacket that is high tech as it has been fitted with LEDs that will respond to guitar music, lighting up whenever you play to create different patterns. Rock on!

UGG unveils the Great Jones Headphone Ear Muffs

UGG is a brand probably best known for their shoes, which some could argue is a fashion statement while others might think of it as downright ugly. Either way we’re not talking about shoes today but rather a pair of headphones! It looks like the company is expanding beyond the clothing line and dabbling in electronics with the release of their Great Jones Headphone Ear Muffs. As you might have surmised from its name, these pair of headphones not only function as a pair of headphones, but will double as a pair of ear muffs that should keep your ears nice and toasty during the winter while keeping you entertained at the same time. They certainly look unique (as far as headphones are concerned) and if you don’t mind dropping $85 for a pair, you will be able to pick one up for yourself via Neiman Marcus’ website where they will be offered in a variety of different colors.

Skullcandy PLYR2 Wireless Headset

When it comes to playing video games, having an idea on where your opponent is would be of utmost importance, and sometimes a pair of speakers just will not do. Here we are with the Skullcandy PLYR2, which is a wireless gaming headset that will deliver 2.4GHz wireless audio. Sporting Skullcandy’s “Supreme Sound” technology, there is a GMX stereo transmitter that helps balance out game and voice audio, alongside a trio of different EQ sound modes and an adjustable boom mic which can be flipped all the way up to mute it.

You can choose from black, white and teal shades if you happen to want to rope in the PLYR2 as part of your gaming hardware repertoire. At $129.99 a pop, it is not exactly the most affordable gaming headset in town, but you know for sure that quality is right up there on the agenda. There is also a more highly advanced Dolby Surround Sound-equipped PLYR1 which is due to debut sometime early next year.

KORG announces updated MicroStation with smaller size and price tag

Earlier today, KORG announced a new music app for the iPad, but they’re not done yet, because they also just announced a new and updated MicroStation keyboard. The MicroStation plugs directly into your computer or tablet so that you can record your music and have it save straight to your computer/tablet with no other devices in the middle.

The MicroStation is a versatile keyboard that is both great for beginners as well as experts who want an easy interface to work with. The keyboard can act as a songwriting tool thanks to its quick and intuitive onboard sequencer for recording your music, and it also works great as a live keyboard, or for those wanting to easily lay down some drum tracks on top of their music.

The new MicroStation has 61 “Natural Touch” keys, which we’re guessing is just another term for weighted keys. The device also comes numerous effects, dual arpeggiators, and a 16-track MIDI recorder. It also features Loop Recording and Visual Grid Sequencing for those music experts who want a little more oomph out of their music gear.

If you happen to not have the MicroStation plugged into a computer for saving music tracks, the keyboard has built-in SD card slot, allowing users to save their song data and other information directly onto an SD card for future listening on a computer. The new KORG MicroStation is available now for $399.

Ferrari Logic3 Cavallino T350 Headphones: Can’t Drive These Drivers

Mad about Ferraris, but you can’t afford to buy one in your lifetime? If you’re not worried about spending a little bit of cash, check out these Ferrari-branded headphones. The only question that I have is will they perform as well as they are priced?

cavallino over ear headphones

These Ferrari Cavallino T350 headphones were created by Logic3, and are supposed to embody premium performance, thanks to their large 40mm drivers. These cans also have active noise-canceling technology, so you won’t hear much of what’s going on in the outside world when you wear them. The ear cups and headbands are trimmed with leather to ensure comfort. They also have an Apple-compatible 3-button remote and the cord is supposed to be tangle-free, and is trimmed with woven fabric.

The Cavallino T350 Headphones retail for $399(USD). I’m curious about how these stack up with other similarly-priced headphones. Will they blow them away or do you pay a lot just to have the Ferrari name on them?

KORG iPolysix goes multi-tune for iPad and iPad mini

The world-wide best-selling Polysix polyphonic synthesizer has been revealed for the iPad as well as the iPad mini this week. This legendary bit of hardware will now be able to be played digitally by you on either your full-sized Retina-quality iPad or your iPad mini, “fully replicated” per KORG’s specifications. This app is being released with not just one keyboard on-board, but two Polysix units, a mixer, and a six-part drum machine as well.

The original Polysix went on sale all the way back in 1981 when the biggest deal in the world for synthesizers was five-note polyphony. When the designer of the Polysix organized the machine to simultaneously push forth six different sounds at once, his mind exploded with excitement. Here at the tail end of 2012, the machine has another big jump forward: “Polyseq” polyphonic step sequencing action!

The analog mixer you get with this musical collection in an app is reminiscent of the KMX-8 mixer that was out on the market when the original Polysix was released. Similar sounds are included – you’ll be rolling out hard with the greatness of the early 80′s for real. The dual Kaoss pads included also include chordal support. This combination of the Polysix + Kaoss Pads in one app allow you to play inimitable polyphonic sounds of the Polysix with just one finger – it’s magical!

This app is out for iPads of most shapes and sizes and will cost you just $14.99 for a limited time. Starting on the 31st of December, the price will jump back up to $29.99 USD where it’ll stay for the foreseeable future. At the moment we’re playing around with the app and will be sure to let you know if we see any bugs or fantastic features above and beyond the fold!

Ferrari Logic3 Scuderia FS1 Air Bluetooth Speaker: Doesn’t Go Fast, But Does Get Loud

Until you’ve tried a Bluetooth speaker, you can’t really understand how useful they can be. Sure, the sound quality isn’t always spectacular, but it always blows speaker built into smartphones and tablets away, and the wireless convenience can’t be denied. Logic3 has just announced a Ferrari-branded Bluetooth speaker dock, which doesn’t really mean a whole lot, since it’s not like you’re going to be driving this thing.

logic3 ferrari scuderia fs1 bluetooth

The Ferrari Logic3 Scuderia FS1 Air speaker dock was inspired by the Scuderia Ferrari racing team as well as the GT car’s lines, creases and curves. It’s powered by “Class HD” technology and has an integrated digital signal processor, controlling the crossover and equalization so that it coaxes the best out of your encoded music.

The integrated 30-pin connector will allow you to dock most iDevices and juice them up while they play their tunes. While it’s not as expensive as an actual Ferrari, the $600+(USD) price tag will burn a hole in your pocket, and if I’m going to spend that kind of money on a dock, I prefer the style of the B&W Zeppelin Air, which can be had for just a few dollars more. But if you’re a die-hard Ferrari fan, you can get your hands on the Scuderia FS1 Speaker Dock at a variety of retailers around the world.
