Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear headphones

All headphones are not created equal, we know as much for sure. For one, quality when it comes to headphones is of the utmost priority for many an audiophile, while others who are on another level figure out that quality is not the only criteria to consider – it must also look drop dead gorgeous when one wears it. I guess it is this kind of thinking that has led the folks over at Sennheiser to come up with the Momentum On-Ear headphones, which will debut in a palette of fresh, pastel colors which would certainly not look out of place in this fast moving fashionable era.

Through the injection of bright, beautiful color into Sennheiser’s range of headphones, the new Momentum On-Ear has been specially crafted from the finest materials and will arrive in a quartet of colors, where they have been inspired by an international team of design experts and trend scouts. The quartet of colors found the Momentum On-Ear models would be blue, green, pink and ivory, where pastel shades define an emerging trend that deliver a more subtle look which happens to be the direction that current fashion collections are headed towards.

Apart from its visual beauty, you can be sure that comfort, too, is high on the list of priorities for the Sennheiser folk, where it comes with a headband and earpads that have been finished in high-tech Alcantara. Just in case you were left scratching your head wondering what Alcantara is all about, it happens to be a specialized luxury material that is loved by designers and automotive upholsterers alike, preferred for its unique combination of softness, durability, and breathable comfort. These Alcantara earpads are capable of isolating the listener for a great listening experience on the move, never mind that they happen to move through the pressure cooker-like, noisy urban environments. There are lightweight sliders made out of premium brushed stainless steel which complete the high end look.

Braven 850 speaker is now available

When it comes to portable speakers that appeal to the senses, I am quite sure that a fair number of you out there have already heard of the name Braven in the past. After all, Braven has had a pretty good track record when it comes to portable speakers as we have seen in the past, and this time around, Braven has just announced the arrival of their highly-anticipated Braven 850, which has been touted to be the biggest and most audiophileistic (is there even such a word?) Braven device to date. The Braven 850 is capable of pumping out hair-raising high-fidelity audio, all the while babysitting mobile devices by charging them, apart from pairing up with a second Braven 850 speaker sans wires for a true left and right wireless stereo experience.

Measuring under 10” in length and 4” in height, the Braven 850 might be small in size, but you can bet your bottom, hard earned dollar that it is big in performance. The bark is worse than its bite in this case, where Braven 850 delivers unprecedented portable sound, with more than enough punch to fill up larger rooms and outdoor parties without breaking a sweat. This is made possible thanks to the Braven 850 making use of class-leading extended-range aluminum cone drivers as well as dual passive radiators, allowing it to open up a path for a powerful and rich sound which should be more than capable of pleasing even the most discerning and demanding audiophile.

Without straying too far away from the classic Braven design, the Braven 850 is accentuated by a stunning unibody aircraft-grade aluminum construction. There are also several advanced multi-functional features such as on-the-go charging of mobile devices including smartphones, cameras, iPads, and tablets among others, True Wireless pairing between two 850s for a left and right channel stereo experience, an integrated speakerphone so that you can carry out hands-free calls, and a unique digitally enhanced audio that is based on DTS Audio’s SRS WOW technology. It also comes with an impressive play time of up to 20 hours, all for $299.99 a pop.

Edifier Extreme Connect portable speaker

The kids who grew up in the 1980s and spent their teens in that era, spilling over into the 1990s along the way, would certainly have heard of the boombox culture, or at least, participated in such a culture. It was a time when there were no distractions such as mobile phones, and neither do you need to worry about posting up photos of yourself in compromising positions and poses on a social network with no way of pulling those photos down afterwards. What about today? Street dancing has become a popular past time for many, and obviously, good music will need to be complemented by fantastic audio playback capability, which is what the Edifier Extreme Connect intends to do. The Edifier Extreme Connect is a powerful portable speaker system that delivers unparalleled audio clarity regardless of the environment it is in, including large indoor and outdoor spaces.

I guess in a nutshell, the Edifier Extreme Connect is best described to be an all-in-one portable solution for audio applications as well as hands-free phone conferencing, if the need arises. This particular system will be able to hook up (sans wires, of course) to any Bluetooth enabled device – be they smartphones, tablets and computers, where it is capable of streaming music, movies, games and phone calls. I strongly suspect that the primary use of the Edifier Extreme Connect would be for movies and music, and not so much to see it work as a conference call device.

It does not matter where your adventure takes you, as the Edifier Extreme Connect will come in a fully portable form factor, where its built-in rechargeable battery is said to boast of a non-stop audio playback time of up to 12 hours – I suppose that might even be longer than what your smartphone is able to handle. Other than that, it will also arrive with a microSD memory card slot to carry up to 32GB of media, supports USB streaming and has a 3.5 auxiliary port. You can pick it up in black, blue, red, yellow and gray shades for $99.99 a pop.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and it’s time to get active. Everyone I know was waiting for the great weather to get going. I’m not a big fan of high temperatures myself, and my idea of “getting going” is to hit the pool or the beach. I guess a nice swim is about the only kind of exercise I enjoy, and even then, it sure can get a little boring and repetitive.

Well, no more… check out Speedo’s Waterproof MP3, perfect for those of us that like a little background music with our physical pursuits, this MP3 is completely waterproof and submersible for up to 10 feet. The handy little Aquabeat MP3 clips right to your bathing suit or googles and functions as an Mp3, radio, pedometer, stopwatch, and a calorie counter. This Batman Belt Buckle will blast out your theme song, everywhere you go

I think it’s pretty safe to say that when most kids were young, they had dreams of being a super hero. Heck, some of us adults still wish we could be one, though by now we’ve come to realize that there are far too many reasons why you can’t. (Radiation doesn’t work that way, kids.) However, if you’ve got a kid of your own, remember that for them, all it takes is the right costume to make them feel like they can take on even the baddest of supervillains.

This Batman Symbol Belt Buckle With Speaker might not be able to take down the Joker, but like everything else on the Caped Crusader’s belt, it serves multiple functions. Not only does it keep your belt buckled, it can blast out your favorite tunes. Just use the standard stereo jack to plug into your phone or music player, and you’re ready to rock. I might recommend downloading the 60′s Batman theme, so that you have the appropriate music to make an entrance.

This novel gadget requires a pair of AAA batteries to function, and will set you back just $25. That’s right, you won’t need to have the budget of Bruce Wayne to make yourself feel like Batman.

Poppy turns your iPhone into a modern day View-Master

When we were kids, the only way you saw any kind of media in 3D was to don a pair of those red and blue glasses, or with a View-Master. Neither of these were all that great, but they were still fun to play with. I can still remember spending lots of time popping those little discs into the slot, and clicking the images past, one by one. With all of the joys of modern technology, surely we’d have something better than that today, right? Well, we do now.

Poppy is a somewhat bulky-looking black box that turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a 3D camera. You just slide your device into the opening, flip out the end, and you’re ready to start shooting. The interesting thing is how it works. There are no electronics inside the Poppy. Instead, it uses a set of specially-positioned mirrors, and the existing camera on your iPhone to capture still images and videos in 3D.

When you’re ready to view the footage that you’ve shot, you can use the same device to watch the video, just like you would on your beloved childhood toy. Though you don’t have to pull down a lever every time you want to move onto the next image or video. Another nice feature is that you’re not limited to just watching videos that you shot with your iPhone. Regular stereographic videos on YouTube, or 3D movies can be watched with the Poppy. And alternatively, the videos you shoot can then be watched on a 3D TV.

While this is part of a Kickstarter campaign, it has already more than doubled the amount of funding needed, in just a few short days. For just a $49 pledge, you’ll be able to get your very own Poppy when they ship this December.

Sceptre SB301524W Speaker Sound Bar 2.1

When someone mentions the name “Sceptre”, what comes into your mind? I am quite sure that many of us are well acquainted with Sceptre’s range of LED TVs that deliver plenty of bang for your hard earned buck, and this has somewhat raised the confidence of the general cost conscious populace in this relative newcomer to the home theater/audio visual arena. This time around, the folks over at Sceptre has something slightly different for us as your eyes would not be the ones entertained, but rather, your auditory canals, in the form of the Sceptre SB301524W Speaker Sound Bar 2.1.

The Sceptre SB301524W Speaker Sound Bar 2.1 will boast of a built-in subwoofer, in addition to being powered by Google’s Android operating system while sporting Wi-Fi connectivity so that your run-of-the-mill HDTV can be “transformed” into a smart TV of sorts, thanks to the wonders of plug and play technology. I suppose the total cost of ownership for a smart TV has now been lowered across the board with this Sceptre offering, although it should not come with a similar level of integrated performance as Samsung or LG’s own range of dedicated Smart TVs. Still, something is better than nothing, right?

With the inclusion of Android’s interactive media operating system, you should be able to take advantage of the perfect entertainment atmosphere, as you are now able to access the Google Play Store, where the doors have been opened for you to download thousands of songs, games, movies and apps to add to your TV viewing experience. Something tells me that Angry Birds are going to see a spike of downloads and installations in the days and weeks ahead, if the Sceptre SB301524W Speaker Sound Bar 2.1 sees a large number of sales.

Features of the $299.99 Sceptre SB301524W Sound Bar 2.include a 35W subwoofer with passive radiator, SRS WOW HD audio technology, dual front facing speakers, a trendy touch sensor control panel, and an optional smart remote control which is capable of offering a navigational experience which is on par with that of a traditional mouse and keyboard. Any one of our dear readers are interested in this bad boy?

Isn’t it amazing to see how far technology has come over the years? Look at your cellphone, then look back at what you had 10 years ago. If you did have a mobile phone, it did little more than simply place and receive calls. Now it can do more functions than your PC, PDA, and another dozen devices combined. Unfortunately, what it still can’t do is survive a quick dunk in the pool. Sure, there are watertight cases, but those tend to impede your ability to do things like listen to music, because the speakers are covered. What you need is a large, portable, waterproof speaker.

The ECOROX is a portable Bluetooth speaker that can not only survive a quick dip in the pool, it can hang out in there, blasting your favorite tunes for hours. This set of 6 watt stereo speakers is housed in a waterproof body, and designed to float beside you. Just pair it with your smartphone sitting safely away from the water, and you can rock out to your favorite tunes without any risk. You’ll even be able to take calls at the press of a button, so you never miss a call.

If swimming isn’t your thing, and you’re more of a biker, this device works for you, too. The ECOROX was designed to be mounted to the handlebars of a bike. Never again will you have to worry about the elements harming your speakers. Of course, you’ll still have to worry about upsetting the people around you, if your music is up too loud as you ride past.

You’re going to get 10 hours of talk or playtime out of each 2.5 hour charge. Recharging is handled by a micro-USB cable, and a standard 3.5mm jack offers compatibility with virtually any audio device. You can purchase your own in black, red, or orange for just $130. You can find a handlebar or suction cup mount on the site for just $10 each, as well.
