Skyrim Book Cake: I Must Read It with My Mouth

Redditor bacongrease00′s wife made this tome of bread and icing. It bears the cover of The Book of the Dragonborn, one of the books in Skyrim, but inside you’ll find vanilla cake and cannoli cream filling.

Unfortunately for bacongrease00 he won’t be able to stash even a crumb of the cake, because his wife made it for someone else. At least he got some karma out of it.

Alien Warrior & Big Chap 1/2 Scale Busts: Walletbursters

Sideshow Collectibles will release two Xenomorph busts this year. Both the Big Chap and the Alien Warrior will be in “Legendary Scale”, the toy maker’s term for 1:2 scale. Unless we’re talking about a Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann scale model, I refuse to call anything that’s half the size of the original “Legendary”. That said, these busts are freakin’ scary.

Come on Sideshow, use a banana. Get with the program. The Big Chap is 14″ high and has its trademark slimy shine, semi-translucent head and French kiss-ready mouths. It also bears a relief of a xenomorph egg and a facehugger at the back of its base. It also comes with a plate that bears the Alien movie title in its stylized font.

London Underground Radio

I’ll be perfectly honest – I haven’t listened to broadcast radio in a number of years. Between iTunes, Pandora, and SiriusXM, I have enough choices already. That said, I would actually listen to the radio again if I could have one that looked like this.

london underground radio 1 620x930magnify

Created by sound artist/designer Yuri Suzuki, the Tube Map Radio is a printed circuit board designed in the image of London’s underground subway map. But instead of just telling you how to get from the Tower Bridge to King’s Cross, it actually works as a radio.

Certain locations on the map form a radio circuit, and assuming you place all the resistors, capacitors, and other electronics in the right places, it will form a functional radio.

Unfortunately, I don’t think you can buy the radio at this point, but I think Yuri should consider making a series of these for different cities and selling them in kit form.

Star Wars Gets the Street Art Treatment

Animated character designer Phil Postma created this series of imaginary Star Wars action figures cards after he saw an image of an R2-D2 action figure that looked like a tiny spray can.

I love the graffiti art style of the images, and think it would be awesome if they actually made a Star Wars animated series with this look.

I’d also like Phil to come to my neighborhood and spray this on one of the buildings:

Slimo Lightning Charging Patch for iOS Helps You Quit Cables

There are two reasons why I’m not a fan of most wireless chargers for mobile devices: they make it awkward to use your device while it’s charging and they require bulky cases for your mobile device. Slimo easily takes care of my second complaint. The first one? Not so much.

slimo lightning wireless charging patch for iphone ipad ipad mini ipod touch 620x648magnify

Unfortunate name choice aside, Slimo is indeed slimey slim. Instead of a bulky case it takes the form of a conductive patch that’s just 0.014″ thick. The patch delivers power to newer iOS devices via a Lightning connector. This means that you can attach Slimo without removing your iOS device’s case. You can even keep it underneath a case, as long as the latter isn’t made of metal. Slimo will work with any charging base that complies with the Qi Wireless standard.

Place your browser flat on your computer and try using it without lifting it off. Then pledge at least £22 (~$37 USD) on Kickstarter to get a Slimo patch as a reward. Pledge at least £39 (~$65 USD) to get a Slimo and a wireless charging base combo.

Liftware Self-Stabilizing Spoon Normalizes Lives

Last year, Lift Labs Design unveiled Liftware Stabilizer, a spoon with an electronic self-stabilizing handle. Liftware makes it easy for people suffering from tremors – such as those with Parkinson’s Disease – to eat on their own. This month Lift Labs is back on Indiegogo, this time not just for itself but to help others as well.

For those who are not familiar with Liftware, its handle has accelerometers that detect motion and actuators to compensate for said motion.

Liftware is used only as a spoon for now, but because all of its electronics are in the handle Lift Labs will release additional attachments in the future, including a fork and a key holder.

Pledge at least $300 (USD) on Indiegogo to get a Liftware as a reward. You can also get the device directly from Lift Labs Design, but as stated in the video above, the company will match all Indiegogo pledges up to $50,000 dollar for dollar. That means for every $295 it collects, the company will donate two Liftware units to the International Essential Tremor Foundation.

3D Printed Raspberry Pi Raspberry Case: Fruit of the Loom

We’ve seen pies with fruit inside. Instructables member Rick Winscot created a fruit with a whole Pi inside. Rick designed and printed a case for the Raspberry Pi that looks just like the Raspberry Pi Foundation logo.

Before you grab your 3D printer, just know that you’ll have to do more than print the case and stuff a Raspberry Pi inside. You’ll have to get some spare USB connectors and power adapter jacks, then solder those bits and fit them onto the base. You’ll then connect those to the Raspberry Pi’s ports, which will stick out of the bottom of the case. That way the whole thing can sit upright just like in Rick’s picture. You’ll also have to get magnets to secure the leafy lid.

This sci-fi death match in space short is better than Hollywood movies

If you crossed Hunger Games with Oblivion, mixed in some feelings of Moon, sprinkled a little of action from that Bourne movie without Matt Damon and shook it all up with astronaut suits, futuristic guns, another planet and an eerie death match you would get Project Skyborn, a heart pumping short by Marko Slavnic. It’s amazing.
