Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition Arriving On Mac 22nd FebruaryGood news Mac gamers, it looks like Beamdog’s Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be arriving for Mac computers come 22nd of February, which is basically in one day’s time! It will be priced at $19.99 and will be available via Beamdog’s website, although the developers are planning to make it available via the Mac App Store in the future, but no word on when that is just yet. For those wondering what’s the deal with such an old game, Beamdog basically revived the Baldur’s Gate series in the Enhanced Editions of the game. It features slightly revamped graphics, introduction of new features such as new characters to play with and new areas. At the moment the game is available for the PC and the iPad where it is priced at $9.99. According to their website, it says that the Android version will be coming soon, but unfortunately still no word on that yet.

Development Of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition For Android Hits A Snag

04 Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition Development Of Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition For Android Hits A SnagWhile iOS gamers are probably enjoying the remake of Baldur’s Gate, it looks like Android users will still have to wait for their copy. According to a Twitter post by Beamdog’s Trent Oster, he revealed that they have hit a snag in the Android development of the game, stating that “We’ve hit a snag with BG resource handling and ship panel APK files. We’re going to be a while yet on Android.” Unfortunately when asked as to when Android users would be able to expect the game, no specific date was given meaning that Android users are in for wait, although hopefully not for too long (fingers crossed!) In the meantime it looks like if you’ve already completed Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition and you’re looking forward to the sequel, Oster revealed that the team is already working on it but unfortunately did not provide a time frame for its release. We can only assume that Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition will likely release for iOS first while Beamdog works on porting the first title to Android. It should also be noted that Beamdog has considered bringing the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate onto the PlayStation 3 console.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhance Edition delayed until November

We’re sure that many old school RPG gamers out there would love to get their hands on Beamdog’s upcoming Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, which is basically the old and original Baldur’s Gate game but with updated graphics and several new characters and features. Originally pegged for an 18th September release, it seems that if you were getting ready to swipe your credit card tomorrow, you’re out of luck as Beamdog has announced that the game’s release will be pushed to November instead. No specific dates were mentioned (30th of November was initially listed before being removed), and according to Beamdog, the delay was to ensure the “best possible product” on launch. The good news is that if you pre-ordered the game, the company has promised “something a little extra” for you as compensation.
