Bacon, Coffee and Whiskey Soaps for Hipster Germophobes

If you are as big a fan of crispy, crunchy bacon as I am all you will need to hear is this- Bacon Soap. If you need a bit more explanation, here it is. ThinkGeek has some hand soaps in bars that smell like manly food and drink. The hand soaps are available in three scents; the bacon scent we have seen before.

Made by Outlaw Soaps, the set of three scents include bacon, coffee, and whiskey. I can get behind the bacon-scented soap, it even looks like bacon with the red and white marbling. The coffee soap makes sense too, while I hate the taste of coffee, it smells pretty good.

The whiskey soap is the questionable one to me. I can only imagine explaining to a cop that pulls you over and smells whiskey that you just took a bath.

Bacon Soap: Lather up in Smoky, Meaty Goodness

You don’t have to be an outlaw to appreciate the unusual soaps that Outlaw Soaps churns out. This time around, they’ve taken everyone’s favorite breakfast staple and have turned it into a must-have for showers and bathrooms worldwide.

Each bar – or rather, slab – of bacon soap looks good enough to eat. It’s dyed and shaped to resemble actual bacon, but you’ll be pleased to hear that no actual bacon was used in making it. The soap is loaded with natural, vegan ingredients including coconut oil, avocado oil, and castor oil, leaving you with smooth skin after you rinse off the aromatic lather.

Every slab of bacon soap is wrapped in a rustic burlap bag to complete the “this-just-came-from-the-butcher” effect. They’re available for pre-order for $12(USD).

Carbon Fiber Hammock Bathtub: Relax in Black

Nothing beats a nice, warm bath after a grueling day at work. I find it especially relaxing to just soak in the tub with a good book in hand, with soft music playing in the background.

Regular tubs work just fine, but taking the concept of relaxing baths just one step beyond is Splinter Works with their “Vessel” bathtub.

Vessel Bathtub

It’s an elongated, hammock-shaped carbon fiber bathtub that will supposedly provide you with the most relaxing and luxurious bathing experience you’ll ever have in your life.

It’s massive, so your existing bathroom needs to be large and roomy for this thing to fit.

Vessel Bathtub1

At 2.7m long, Vessel is longer than a regular bathtub, leaving plenty of room to share the experience. Custom sizes are available but it is also designed so that it can be trimmed up to 20 cm to allow for flexible installation. Pictured here in black, it also available in red, blue, yellow, pink, bronze and pure silver.

You can find out more information about the Vessel here. Between its looks and materials, I can’t imagine this thing is cheap.

Air Shower Concept is a Shower and Dryer in One

I dread taking showers on especially cold mornings. While the water heater makes bath water warm and comfortable, there’s the matter of the cold air seeping through the door while toweling off.

This is a problem designer Adrien Lefebvre understands, which is why he came up with the Air Shower.

Air Shower

It looks and functions just like a typical shower, with one important feature added to it: a dryer. When you’re done rinsing off, just switch the head of the device into dryer mode and just dry yourself off. I imagine it works like a high-powered hair dryer by blowing hot air all over your body.

Air Shower1

Mock-ups and diagrams indicate that the Air Shower’s head has a ceramic exterior and an interior built using ABS plastic. Waterproofing the dryer and making sure nothing shorts when it’s in use should probably the top priorities for this device.

I definitely like the idea and hope that more people get behind it so there’ll be a bigger chance that it’ll be turned into a reality.

Breaking Bad Trades Meth for Bath Salts

After a tough day in the lab cranking out blue ice, you just want to relax and take a bath. Now you can do so with Heisenberg’s finest blue product. This stuff is as pure as you can get. Yo.

Breaking Bad Bath Salts
It’s not really meth of course, but it looks just like the stuff that Walter and Jesse cook up in the lab. Hell, a bag like this could get you some serious money. But these are bags of bath salts, not meth. You wouldn’t want to bathe with meth. And no, they’re not that type of bath salts, so don’t get any funny ideas.

These salts have been “cooked” to look like they are 99.1% chemically pure crystal. They’re available here in the U.S., and in the UK from from Firebox.

Sonic the Hedgehog Cartridge Soap Scrubs off the Stench of Eggman

After a hard day of spiraling through loops and collecting rings, it’s time for a good shower. A hedgehog can get pretty dirty running around all those 16-bit landscapes. This Sonic the Hedgehog soap should help. Forget inserting it in your console. Instead, insert it in your armpits and other crevices to get squeaky clean.
sonic soap This one is grape soda scented. Supposedly this soap will make your hands soft, which should help you interact better with your controller. Just don’t try jamming it into your SEGA Genesis unless you want a nasty surprise.

This neat soap shaped was made by Digitalsoaps, and will cost you just $7(USD) – which is actually a little more than a used Sonic the Hedgehog cartridge.

Hot Tub Boats: Because Hot Tug Boats Just Sounded Wrong

While they’re not capable of moving you through space and time like a Hot Tub Time Machine, these Hot Tub Boats can at least transport you through water – because why bother swimming, when your boat can do it for you?

hot tub boat seattle ship pleasure craft full

These fun boats will help you relax and unwind as you set sail. Its tub is positioned in the vessel’s center of buoyancy, making it quite stable and drafting only 20 inches when it’s filled up with 2,100 lbs of water and six adults. In case you’re wondering how you pilot a boat while you’re taking a bath, it’s controlled via a joystick.

The hot tub boats were engineered and are built in Seattle by a marine carpenter. They have a vinyl-ester hull that’s topped off with a slatted deck, handcrafted from African teak wood.

Its diesel-powered boiler has an adjustable thermostat, and heats the water up to 104° F. There is also a waterproof MP3 stereo system and two flush-mounted 50W speakers that pop-up from the deck. A 24-volt electric motor makes this thing go up to 5mph.
