Batwing R/C Plane: The Dark Flight Rises

R/C toys are fun. Whether it’s driving, flying or navigating the the waterways, it’s all good. It’s even cooler if you are capable of customizing your R/C craft. R/C hobbyist Chris Allen knows a thing or two about that, having built this awesome 70MM EDF JET powered Batwing from scratch.

It not only looks awesome, it also really flies and flies fast too while flipping around in the air. Chris has been building and designing R/C planes for the past 10 years and right now he is into scratch-building anything to do with Batman. My kind of builder.

Now he just needs to build a Joker plane and take the fight to the skies for the ultimate flying duel. Make sure you watch the videos. This thing is amazing in flight. I’m sure would have your Batman action figure pulling massive Gs in the cockpit.

Batpod Motorcycle Replica Built from Junk

It takes a serious Batman fan to build a replica of any of the Dark Knight’s vehicles. It is even more impressive when they build them from junk as is the case with this Batpod motorcycle.
batman batpod
It not only looks amazing, but this is a fully functional hand-built Dark Knight BatPod. It was made from scrap metal parts by Vietnam’s Tùng Lâm. It looks like it cost him a fortune to build, but believe it or not, it cost just $480(USD). That’s a lot less than Bruce Wayne paid for his (or the $100,000 for this replica.)

The video shows Tùng tearing up the streets on this cool vehicle and just generally feeling good and being his own superhero. You can see more pics from the build at the link below.

Batarang Pocket Knives: The Dark Knife Rises

Forget tiny little pocket knives. This Batarang Pocket Knife steps things up a notch. It’s the kind of pocket knife that Batman himself would carry. Well, it comes in several bright colors that would appall The Dark Knight and his design sensibilities, but otherwise these Batarang knives look pretty awesome.

Batman Batarang Knife
It’s a Batarang, but it’s also a dual bladed pocket knife. When both blades are open it is basically an 11″ knife. Sure, it isn’t particularly practical, but it’s still a bladed weapon. It’s not supposed to cut your sandwich in half. It’s just supposed to look cool. The knives come in black, silver, red, pink, and purple. Three guesses which one the Batman prefers. They start at $8.18(USD) from Amazon.

Awesome Lego Lenticular Mosaic Turns Batman Into the Joker [Video]

Mosaic posters made with Lego bricks are a dime a dozen, but this one is different and absolutely awesome: a lenticular poster that makes Batman transform into the Joker as you pass by. And the Brian Bolland’s versions, no less. More »

Awesome Mom Paints Her Son’s Converse, Dark Knight Style

So last week, we saw how awesome dads could be. First, there was the dad who built his daughter her very own backyard roller coaster. Then there was the dad who turned his kid’s toy car into a real one. But moms can be awesome, too, and today we’ve got an example of one. Now what she did might not be something of epic proportions or mechanical in nature, but it’s a labor of love, just like what those dads did.

Redditor zacch wanted a pair of Batman Converse, but didn’t have the cash. So instead of buying one for him, his mom took one of his old pairs and painted all sorts of cool Batman stuff on them.

Converse Mom
Not only do they look awesome, but they’re also one-of-a-kind, considering that his mom customized them and all.

The post on Reddit has amassed a lot of praise, comments, and request, which prompted zacch’s mom to accept requests for customized shoes. If you’re interested in getting a pair of customized kicks, check out his mom’s blog and use the email on that site to send in your requests or inquiries.

Batman’s Tumbler vehicle gets reimagined as an F1 racing car

Now it’s safe to assume that as depicted in the movies, Batman’s Tumbler vehicle is not only capable of withstanding massive amounts of abuse, but is pretty quick as well, so what happens if the Tumbler were taken and redesigned as an F1 vehicle? What sort of speeds could we be looking at here? Unfortunately we may never find out, but thanks to KnightVision3D, he has come up with a concept rendering of a Batman Tumbler vehicle in a formula one racing car design. As pictured above, it looks pretty darn good! Powered by jet turbines, it even comes with hydraulic flaps. Now we since we’re not car designers nor racers, we can’t really speak for its realism nor its aerodynamics, but as far as designed is concerned, we certainly love what we see, and given Bruce Wayne’s massive fortune (albeit fictional), we don’t see why he wouldn’t build himself one of these in the future!

Batman Toilet Paper Holder: The Dark Knight Wipes

I am in awe of the sheer genius and laziness of this Batman mod. By giving a large Batman figure a single rod to hold in his hands, Batman is transformed from Guardian of Gotham to Master Presenter of T.P.

Sure, it might have been more appropriate if this were the butler, Alfred, preferably the Michael Caine version that speaks with a British accent, but this is way funnier. It has to be the Dark Knight toilet paper holder. Because Alfred is the hero with the soft stuff your butt deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

This 31″ tall custom dark knight toilet paper holder was made by conrick, who sits on his throne in silence, looking over his creation.

Bat-Signal String Art Calls the Dark Knight with Craft

If Jim Gordon had a thing for crafts, this is the Bat-signal that we would get. The upside is that it can still be dramatically killed by an axe, but Batman has to be really close to see it.
bat signal art
All you need is some thread, nails, a ton of patience and a desire to summon Batman and you too can make one. It actually does light up from behind as well, so maybe Batman can see it from a slight distance after all.

batsignal 2

Why hasn’t anyone tried calling Spider-Man with this sort of thing? It’s basically a spider web right? Then you don’t waste this on Batman. The right tool for the right job and all that. Spider-Man would love this. And Peter Parker needs some gimmick where Police can call him anyhow, right? It’s a cool piece of art, I just really want Spidey to have his own signal.

Lego motorized Tumbler and The Bat vehicles will bring out the Batman in you

Lego builder Peer Kreuger was able to build Lego models of the highly fantasized vehicles from The Dark Knight Rises hit movie. But they are not just your ordinary Lego blocks. That’s because Kreuger was able do motorized versions of the Tumbler as well as of The Bat (well, not totally). Basically, Kreuger’s Tumbler, available in black and brown, have LED lights on them and boy they look amazing.

The Bat on the other hand, seen in the flick as Batman’s favorite ride, is still motorized but doesn’t have the ability to fly. Kreuger has posted images of his latest creations on Lego’s official custom builder website Cuusoo, so that you can vote for the two toy concepts and help make the, a reality for you boys out there. He was also able to prepare a cool and almost-realistic video of the Tumblers and The Bat in action. I got to admit that they pretty much look like the ones used by Bruce Wayne in the movie. Do you agree? Check out the video after the break. (more…)

Motorized LEGO Tumbler and Bat: Not The Toys We Need, But The Toys We Really Need

Expert LEGO builder Peerk Kreuger aka mahjqa is back with a timely creation that will make you soil your BatUndies. Kreuger made a couple of motorized versions of the Tumbler as well as of The Bat.

The Tumblers – available in Batman Black and Bane Brown Camo – have LED lights and seem to handle rough terrain quite well. The Bat has moving propellers but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t actually fly.

Still not impressed? Here:

Check out Kreuger’s Flickr page for more pictures. He’ll also probably upload the build instructions for both vehicles on his website, but this time he’s also put up proposals on Cuusoo for each vehicle. Will these cars remain unofficial vigilantes or will they be recognized superheroes of LEGO Gotham? You got the power. Make it happen.
