Batman: The Dark Knight Rise game coming to Android and iOS this summer

Good news to all Batman fans out there! Gameloft has just announced its tie-in game for the The Dark Knight Rises movie that is set to launch on theaters beginning July 20. The video game developer recently released a teaser for the game with the same name, as you see in the video above. The Dark Knight Rises video game will be coming to iOS and Android during the same day that Christopher Nolan’s epic sequel to the Batman trilogy will be launched in theaters. Details of the game are yet to be revealed, as well as its pricing. But sources from the web are saying that Gameloft will launch the game under a freemium model, and will probably offer in-app purchases in exchange for more levels of crime-fighting action and fun. Although the teaser is rather short, nearly 30 seconds only, it’s quite enough to tell us what the game is all about. Cheers!

According to Physics, Batman’s cape is a death trap

Batman’s winged cape is essential to his capturing villains. It allows him to scout out Gotham city from skyscrapers and glide to lower distances at a high speed. Everyone whose played Batman Arkham City has definitely enjoyed the sensation of flying with Batman before. Unfortunately, Batman fans will have to face a reality today that his cape is actually a death trap rather than a flying aid. According to physicists at the University of Leicester, the impact of Batman hitting the ground after using his cape would be equivalent to being hit by a car at 50 mph. (more…)

Mini Batman Bat-Signal

The crazy summer blockbuster season at the movies have arrived, and superheroes never seem to get old on the silver screen. I suppose a lot of it has to do with a form of escapism for us, where we do wish at times that we could eventually wake up with super powers one day, ditching our day jobs and being a general all-round idol to the rest of the world. Bruce Wayne might have had a tough childhood, but I guess he channeled all of that angst and bitterness in a way that helped society combat crime. While there is no way to whistle and have Batman show up at your whim and fancy, perhaps the Bat-Signal might do the trick.

What happens when there are budget cuts and austerity measures put in place by governments all over the world? Well, this is where the wonders of miniaturization comes in handy, and the $9.95 Mini Batman Bat-Signal is more than ready to make up for any shortcomings. After all, you can never quite tell just when you need that extra bit of accounting help at the office, and Bruce Wayne would definitely have the know-how in solving that bit without attracting the Attorney General in any way. The man runs a multi-billion dollar empire, doesn’t he?

Nokia Lumia 710 gets Dark Knight Rises covers

The Dark Knight Rises might not have the pre-movie hype of Heath Ledger’s death, but I am quite sure that this particular movie is still going to be a hit at the box office this summer. As to whether it is capable of breaking box office records, that remains to be seen, but we do know that Nokia has teamed up with the Dark Knight to release Dark Knight Rises phone covers – is Bruce Wayne really that hard up for money that he has to branch out to selling his image rights for phone accessories now?

Lame jokes aside, new and existing Nokia Lumia 710 owners are able to get their hands on the Dark Knight Rises special edition Xpress-On covers which boast the easily-recognizable Batman symbol. I guess this is meant for the true blue hardcore Batman fan, as exclusive content like wallpapers, ring tones and the location-based game called “Claim Gotham City” do not seem enough to satiate your appetite for all things Batman.
