Batmobile Tumbler iPhone 5/5S Case: Not the Case Your Pants Need

Bandai recently started a line of smartphone cases called Crazy Case, and they’re backing up their words with action. As you can see in Drool’d’s shot, the first Crazy Case is a Tumbler Batmobile toy car that happens to have a gap at the bottom big enough for an iPhone 5 or 5S to fit in.

The officially licensed case has several LEDs, including a mobile Batsignal. Its front wheels slide to the side to give way to the iPhone’s camera and sleep button. It also looks absolutely juvenile. I want one.

You can order the case from Bandai for about $57 (USD). It originally appeared on the Japanese Premium Bandai shop, but that site seems to be down as of this writing. You can check it out at Bandai’s Hong Kong shop too.

You Have To Really Love Batman To Use This Absurd iPhone Tumbler Case

Most smartphone cases strive to provide as much protection for your device as possible without adding too much bulk or extra weight. But that’s not the approach Bandai has taken with this monstrosity. Squarely targeted at die-hard Batman fans, this case is a perfect replica of the Tumbler Batmobile featured in Christopher Nolan’s films, but designed to protect your iPhone—not the Dark Knight.

Own a Street-Legal Flamethrowing Batmobile Replica for Just $200K

We all know Batkid rolls around town in a two-car fleet of Bat-Lamborghinis, which is reasonably phenomenal. But for his next crime-fighting spree, he might want to consider this pitch-perfect replica of the Batmobile from the mid-’60s TV series.

Nissan’s BladeGlider electric concept car should definitely race the Batmobile (eyes-on)

We already knew that Nissan’s eye-catching electric car concept looked fit for a superhero, but it’s honestly not just comic-book premise. A Nissan spokesperson told us that the BladeGlider is a very early prototype aimed towards for-real vehicle production. To its credit, with some geometry skills and practice, you could probably fit two BladeGliders into a standard parking space. Perhaps even more incredibly, the BladeGlider also apparently uses less energy than Nissan’s eponymous Leaf EV.

The car draws on a lot of design cues from the DeltaWing, a car that Nissan worked on and one that previously did the rounds at Le Mans, among other raceways. Development then judiciously plucked design and engineering pointers from the ZEOD RC, its hybrid electric race car. As you’d expect from a car that’s striving towards the future, the twin doors rise upwards rather than swinging out. Sure, we’ve seen that before — 30 years earlier — but in this concept car the entire cockpit also pitches to the side to make space for the driver’s exit or entrance. It’s no solo car, however, and there’s space for two passengers in the back. And that shape: the front of the car is a meter wide, opening up to 1.8 meters along the back. There aren’t many cars out there like the BladeGlider — check out a shot of the HUD after the break. %Gallery-slideshow122433%

The Authentic 1966 Batmobile can be yours for just $200,000

1966-batmobileI still cannot believe my eyes that the folks over at Hammacher have managed to get hold of what they have described as “The Authentic 1966 Batmobile”, having slapped a $200,000 price tag on it along the way. In fact, just how authentic is it? Apparently, the entire ride was so accurate in comparison to the original, that it took nearly a year to complete, making this an officially licensed, roadworthy replica of the Batmobile that was originally featured in the iconic 1960s TV show.

Specially built on a custom Lincoln chassis, this is one crime-fighting cruiser that allows the driver to dress up as Batman, but I would strongly suggest you work on your detective skills before driving this puppy around lest the bad guys in your ‘hood figure out that you’re a phony. Underneath the hood of this Batmobile lies a 430-horsepower, 383 Blueprint Crate engine and a Monster TH350 automatic transmission. The vehicle’s cockpit will also pay homage to the TV series by being equipped with a blinking Batphone, switch-operated electric actuators that will open up the hood and trunk, as well as a rotating red beacon so that citizens will be alerted that you are hot in pursuit of fiendish criminals. Will it be able to pick up the chicks? Trade $200,000 for it to find out!

Nissan Micra Turned into the Batmobile Junior

The guys at Fast Furious and Funny have created something awesome. It’s a Nissan Micra that’s been converted into a Batmobile. Sure, we’ve seen other cars turned into Batman’s ride in the past, but normally you would want to use a more substantial vehicle as your base. As it turns out, this sub-compact was an amazing car to use – assuming Batman wants a slightly comical but still badass car.

Sure, it’s black and has tailfins, but it wouldn’t be a Batmobile without plenty of gadgets and weapons. An RPG comes out of the unfolding roof, machine guns that pop out in front to deal with bad guys ahead of you, and there’s a flamethrower in back.

Check out the complete build in the video below:

It is deadly, but cute. They even put a furry material over the extra bodywork, which is appropriate for a bat. Awesome. Great work guys. We can’t wait to see it in action.

F1 Batmobile Tumbler Concept: The Joker Won’t Get Away

Over the years, the Batmobile has shown up in all kinds of crazy designs. It’s amazing how geeks change things around and create all kinds of cool versions of the classic Bat car. And now it has been converted into an Formula One race car by Knightvision3D. I can only imagine how awesome the Joker’s car would look if he had an F1 racer too.
f1 batmobile front
It is pretty impressive and was made in 3DS Max 2013. It’s a combination of F1 design, Tumbler technology and powered by jet turbines. They even added hydraulic flaps and allowed the air collected above the cockpit to be funneled around the turbine exhaust and out under the rear diffuser. Who cares that it defies good aerodynamics?

Man, if I had Bruce Wayne’s money I would so build one of these.
