Battlefield 4 “Death Shield” Bug Discovered

It seems that despite EA and DICE’s best efforts to squash as many Battlefield 4 bugs as possible, they just keep popping up, and the latest one has been discovered which gamers are referring to it as the death shield bug.

Basically for those who haven’t played Battlefield 4, when you are killed in the game, there’s a small window of time in which your team mates can come and revive you, and during this period you would be protected by an invisible shield, temporarily.

However this bug seems to extend that shield and basically the shield is bigger than expected meaning that players standing behind the recently revived player are protected by the shield as well. In fact this could be used as a tactic where players could let their team mate die, revive them, and stand behind them to absorb attacks and launch their own attacks on the enemy.

According to DICE’s QA lead, Jaqub Ajmal, the bug is currently being looked at although there is no mention as to when the bug could be fixed. However to EA and DICE’s credit, after all the flack they have received over the Battlefield 4 bugs, they have been hard at work trying to patch things up as quickly as possible, so hopefully this bug will be fixed ASAP.

In the meantime if you’re wondering how this bug works and how it affects the game, check out the video below to see it in action.

Battlefield 4: Naval Strike Will See General Release On 15 April

Battlefield 4: Naval Strike Will See General Release On 15 AprilAs you might have heard from about a week ago, EA revealed that the Battlefield 4: Naval Strike DLC would be delayed for both Xbox One and PC gamers. The good news is that we now have a release date, according to a recent tweet by the official Battlefield Twitter account which revealed that the Naval Strike DLC will be available on the 15th of April to all non-premium members.

The DLC was originally meant to be released on the 25th of March for Premium members, although the delay of the Xbox One version meant that non-Premium members had their release delayed too otherwise it wouldn’t be fair to Premium members who were supposed to get their hands on it before everyone else. DICE Promises To Fix Battlefield 4′s Rubber-Banding Issue

DICE Promises To Fix Battlefield 4s Rubber Banding IssueWhen EA released Battlefield 4, the game was not only action-packed, but packed full of bugs as well. So far EA has taken steps to try and quash as many of the bugs as possible, but in the meantime it looks like the game has been hit with yet another issue – rubber-banding.

What is rubber-banding, you ask? We’re sure most players playing online games have experienced it at some point in time, but basically it’s where your character moves forward based on your commands, but due to lag or other issues, you find yourself standing back where you were a few seconds ago. Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC For Xbox One And PC Delayed

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC For Xbox One And PC DelayedEA DICE has just announced that the PC as well as Xbox One versions of the soon-to-be revealed “Naval Warfare” DLC have run into some hiccups, and they will be delayed. Bummer! Apparently, this unforeseen delay has been attributed to separate reasons, where compatibility issues have affected mid-range PCs during testing, while the Xbox One has experienced animation issues along the way. This means that Naval Warfare is now looking at an early April launch on both platforms, which ain’t too far away actually considering how we are already at the tail end of March, but do bear in mind that the early April release will happen only when the bugs have been weeded out.

Battlefield 4: Second Assault Could Launch For PC 18th Feb

Battlefield 4: Second Assault Could Launch For PC 18th FebGood news Battlefield 4 gamers, if you have been wondering when the exclusivity timer on Second Assault will end, you might be pleased to learn that the DLC will be making its way onto non-Xbox devices come 18th February, at least that is what a screenshot of EA’s Origin service in Germany (courtesy of Redditor OurRobOrRos) would seem to suggest. For Battlefield 4 gamers who might be wondering, Second Assault is a DLC for the game except that it was also an exclusive to the Xbox console. The sighting on Origin would suggest that the exclusivity period for the Xbox could be coming to an end.

However since EA has not said anything yet, we suggest that gamers eager to get their hands on the DLC not get their hopes up just yet. It should be noted that the DLC is also listed for PC gamers but it has been suggested that the 18th of February date could apply to PS3 and PS4 gamers as well. Assuming that the date checks out, non-Premium players will be able to access the DLC in the first week of March. EA has since pulled the February 18th listing, suggesting that it might be true but might have gone up a little earlier than expected. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info.

EA Promises To Learn From Battlefield 4 Mistakes

battlefield4When Battlefield 4 was first launched, it was marred by glitches and bugs that rendered the game almost unplayable and also highly unstable. In fact it had gotten so bad to the point where lawsuits were filed against EA, alleging that the publisher had misled investors with their comments claiming that all was good despite knowing in advance that the game would be buggy. Also there has been speculation that EA might have rushed development of the game to beat Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts to the market. (more…)

EA Releases Stability Patch For Battlefield 4

EA Releases Stability Patch For Battlefield 4EA’s Battlefield 4 is a game that is riddled with bugs, to the point where there are multiple lawsuits aimed at the company, claiming that EA made false claims about the game despite knowing there were issues prior to and after the launch, which supposedly were made to inflate its stock prices. It was to the point the EA vowed to put an end to all, if not a majority of the bugs, before they start releasing DLCs which in all honesty is a good move, although we’re guessing many gamers are probably annoyed at this point. Well the good news for Battlefield 4 gamers is that EA has recently released a new patch that will address various stability issues and balances.

It is unclear how much of an improvement this patch has made the game and we doubt that it will fix it completely or address 100% of the issues out there, but we do like the sound of it so far, mainly how there are “various fixes for improving general stability”. We expect that this will not be the last update that EA will be releasing in the near future and there are probably many more to come, but Battlefield 4 gamers out there who have downloaded and updated their game, what do you guys make of the patch so far? Does it address some issues plaguing the game? Or do you think that EA has a long way to go in making it right for everyone?

EA Faces Another Potential Lawsuit Over Battlefield 4

EA Faces Another Potential Lawsuit Over Battlefield 4EA’s Battlefield 4 is currently facing a host of legal problems. Technically the first lawsuit filed against the publisher over the game was what we reported a couple of weeks ago, although before that a law firm launched their own investigations as to whether a lawsuit should be filed, but it seems that 2013 has yet to come to a close and EA has since had another lawsuit filed against them. Law firm Brower Piven has announced their plans to file a class action lawsuit against EA claiming that the publisher knew about the problems n Battlefield 4 before its release, but chose to release it anyway. The lawsuit has yet to be filed but they are currently exploring their options.

The lawsuit, if filed, is essentially the same thing we’ve been hearing in the past, which is how EA’s statements on Battlefield 4 were misleading before and after the launch of the game, which the complainants believed were made in order to raise the prices of EA’s stocks. Analyst Timothy Green of The Motley Fool now believes that the franchise has since been tarnished, and that gamers in the future are more likely to pick Activision’s Call of Duty franchise over Battlefield. For those hearing about this for the first time, EA’s Battlefield 4 has been riddled with bugs since its release to the point where the published had to put a halt to future DLCs in a bid to quash the bugs and rectify all problems before proceeding.

Some claim that EA’s rushed efforts were because they wanted to beat Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts to the punch, and while we guess they managed to do that, we’re not sure if we would consider that to be a victory.

Battlefield 4 Banned In China Over Latest DLC

Battlefield 4 Banned In China Over Latest DLCAs it stands, EA does not sell their Battlefield 4 game in China, which is why we think the China government’s plans to ban the game should have little to no effect on EA’s business. So why is China banning the game? Well as you guys might have heard, the latest Battlefield 4 DLC has been named “China Rising” and it is DLC that contains new maps, vehicles, assignments, and weapons, and follows the fictional story of a certain Admiral Chang who has plans on overthrowing the government. The keyword here is fictional but apparently China is having none of it and have accused EA of creating a form of cultural invasion.

This has led the government to a decision to ban all forms of Battlefield 4 content, such as the prohibition of sales of physical copies of the game and other related demos, downloadable content, and even news! The game has even been characterized as illegal on the grounds that it endangers  national security and cultural aggression. China has never been shy about censoring or banning products in the past, which explains why companies such as Google and Facebook have had no luck penetrating the market. Even developers like Blizzard had to alter their games, such as World of Warcraft, in order to meet the requirements set out by the Chinese government. In any case like we said, since EA doesn’t sell the game in China to begin with, we’re not sure if this ban has any effect on them.
