Black Ops II: Origins Teaser Depict A Robot

Fans of the Call of Duty series, you will most probably have a whole lot more on your plate than just Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Vengeance Map Pack which was introduced for the Xbox 360 recently, especially when a spanking new video over from Treyarch that you can view above, where the latest Call of Duty teased inside that “everything has a beginning…and an end.”

This new teaser trailer has been titled “Origins”, where it runs for approximately 90 seconds while featuring four men – all of them battle hardened, I would presume. At the final part of the teaser trailer, some action from trench warfare is depicted, in addition to some sort of robot that is certainly a whole lot larger than your ordinary WWE pumped up wrestler! Other than that, nothing else about Call of Duty: Black Ops II Origins was released, so we will just have to play the patience card for however much time is required before additional information is leaked, or released on an official basis. At least this would mean that the franchise still has legs…

PC, PS3 To Get Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Uprising This May 16th

PC, PS3 To Get Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Uprising This May 16thIt was sometime in the middle of this month when the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Uprising map pack was made available to faithful peons of the Xbox 360, leaving owners of the Sony PS3 scratching their heads in dismay, wondering when will they be able to enjoy what the Xbox 360 owners were ranting about over the past 9 days or so. Well, all of your waiting is not in vain as we have received word that when May 16th rolls around the corner, PS3 as well as Windows PC players will be able to enjoy the Uprising map pack, too.

Uprising is said to come with a quartet of new multiplayer maps, in addition to “Mob of the Dead,” a bone-chilling new Zombies experience which would see players being assigned to the notorious prison island of Alcatraz. You will find some of Hollywood’s most iconic actors round out the cast of Prohibition-era mobsters, ranging from Ray Liotta to Michael Madsen, Chazz Palminteri, and Joe Pantoliano, in an effort to ensure no expense is spared in bringing this horrifying adventure to life. Have you wet your pants already?

Revolution DLC For Call of Duty: Black Ops II Released

Revolution DLC For Call of Duty: Black Ops II ReleasedIf you are an avid fan of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, then you will definitely be more than pleased to hear that the first DLC pack for the game, simply known as Revolution, has been announced, and it will be made available on the PlayStation Network this coming February 28th. Of course, just like the Transformers, there is more than meets the eye, so you can expect far more within than what you might expect. Revolution is said to deliver a whole lot more content for both multiplayer and Zombies fans, with a quartet of multiplayer maps being made available, namely Hydro, Grind, Downhill, and Mirage.

Do bear in mind that Mirage would also be the first Black Ops II map where Domination will take place in a triangular flag pattern instead of a linear one, allowing you to “exercise” virtually by running laps around the main hotel (or if you prefer, to cut through it) as you attempt to capture the three flags at a trio of different corners of the map. This would definitely call for a rethink of Domination strategies for sure. All in all, you can expect Revolution in Call of Duty: Black Ops II to be a blast when it arrives.

Black Ops 2 Earns $500 Million In A Day

Video games have already started to outearn movies for some time already, and just in case you need more proof, here we are with word that Black Ops 2 has earned more dough compared to Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 – in fact, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 managed to pull in over $500 million in revenue, and this magical figure was achieved during the first 24 hours after it has gone on sale. This also meant that the total Call of Duty sales have also surpassed previously untouchable box office takings of the whole Harry Potter and Star Wars movie franchises.

Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, said, “With first day sales of over half a billion dollars worldwide, we believe Call of Duty is the biggest entertainment launch of the year for the fourth year in a row.” Modern Warfare 3 did not fare too shabbily itself, where it was tipped to have moved 6.5 million units while raking in $400 million worth of revenue, all within the first 24 days of going on sale. We still have no idea on how many actual Black Ops 2 units were sold, so hopefully Activision will release the official figure in due time. Were you one of those who contributed to Activision’s coffers?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 leaked a week earlier

Xbox 360 owners might be excited to hear that copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has just leaked online, which places it a week well ahead of its official release. Somehow, we are not too surprised to read about this, especially when at the end of last month, it was rumored that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 street date was broken across the pond. YouTube has already seen its fair share of gameplay videos, where majority of them feature the new expanded Zombies mode as you can view above.

Not only that, streams of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 have also started to make its appearance online, and Treyarch design director David Vonderhaar used Twitter as his tool of information dissemination of choice, saying, “If you are going to live-stream the game early, which I don’t remotely recommend, you could at least be good at it. :P I’m really glad people are excited for the game. Legit streams coming up later this week and early next. Watch this space.” Good to know that these folks do have their sense of humor, perhaps due to the inevitability of the situation.

Having said that, at least a leak one week before is not too bad if you were to compare it to Halo 4 which was suspected to have leaked out close to a month before its official release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II limited editions announced with $180 ‘Care Package’ sporting an aerial drone

The Call of Duty franchise continues, being yet another huge money spinner for the publishing house never mind that the fare is getting old, so here we are with the announcement of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II limited edition bundles, where $180 will land you the Care Package edition for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. This bundle is nothing to be sneezed at, as the entire thing comes boxed as an in-gamed care package, although the only thing which is lacking to make it a truly realistic experience is the aerial drop-off moment. Ripping this care package open, you will find a remote controlled MQ-27 Dragonfire quadrocopter drone, now how about that? (more…)

Call of Duty: Black Ops II limited editions unveiled, $180 ‘Care Package’ includes aerial drone

Activision never disappoints when it comes to limited edition Call of Duty release bundles, and for the upcoming Black Ops II, it actually may have outdone itself. Besting the RC-XD from its predecessor, $180 will let you snag the Care Package edition for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. This massive bundle is actually boxed as an in-gamed care package (aerial drop-off not included) that’s loaded with a remote controlled MQ-27 Dragonfire quadrocopter drone (!) — we really wish we’d picked up those Modern Warfare 2 night vision goggles now (not at all for full-fledged, after hours recon of our Aol office-mates…). Naturally, it also comes loaded with the requisite DLC goodies; namely, two extra maps (Nuketown Zombies and Nuketown 2025), exclusive weapon camo, a pair of Player Card backgrounds and copy of the soundtrack. Furthermore, PS3 owners will get a pair of dynamic themes, while those with 360s will receive an XBL Zombie avatar and Claw prop. Lastly, you’ll also receive a couple more tangible items in the way of an art book and a duo of “Challenge” coins.

Not looking to terrorize your local airspace? Shave off the $100 premium for the drone and case (not too shabby if the AR.Drone is too expensive for your budget) and you’ll be able to grab the Hardened edition packed with everything else. Last, and seemingly least in this case, Activision is putting out a Digital Deluxe for PC users — similar to the Hardened variant, but with a download code for the aging World at War in place of the physical goodies and PSN / XBL content. Wallet already prepared for the future of secret warfare? You’ll find details to place your own pre-order ahead of the November 13th launch at the source links below and trailer courtesy of Joystiq after the break.
