Blackberry R10 Found To Have 2,180mAh Battery

Blackberry R10 Found To Have 2,180mAh BatteryThanks to previously leaked photos of the Blackberry R10, it would seem that the handset might not come with a removable battery which has pretty much been Blackberry’s tradition for most, if not all, of its phones. The rumors then had suggested that the R10 could come with a 1,800mAh battery which while respectable in size, might be a bit too small especially considering that it cannot be swapped out when out of juice. However it seems that whoever had their hands on the photos (via BBin) has managed to pry open the back cover of the phone, exposing the battery which was then revealed to be 2,180mAh in size.

Obviously this is bigger than previously expected, but as to how long the 2,180mAh battery will last will really depend on the user, and we guess the Blackberry 10 operating system and how it manages its power efficiently. Either way we guess this is still good news for would-be R10 owners who might have found the Q10 and Z10 a little out of their price range. Still no word on when the R10 will be launched, but hopefully with all these leaks, an announcement should be coming up in the near future.

Blackberry R10 Might Not Have A Removable Battery

Blackberry R10 Might Not Have A Removable BatteryEarlier today we reported on photos of the Blackberry R10 that were apparently leaked, and if you’re in the mood for more R10 photos, it seems that additional photos have since been revealed, and one interesting thing about these photos is that based on the image above, it would seem that the Blackberry R10 might not have a removable battery! Actually this piece of revealing information does not come as a surprise as earlier rumors had suggested that the Q10 could be the last Blackberry 10 smartphone to actually feature a removable battery.

The image above, if real, certainly confirms that, at least that appears to be the case. The previously leaked image and specs have suggested a 1,800mAh battery which we guess isn’t too bad, but then again without a removable battery, Blackberry users might end up finding themselves wishing that weren’t the case. Either way we will probably need to get our hands on the device to test it for its longevity, not to mention we cannot confirm whether the photos above are real, so take this with a grain of salt for now.

The Alleged BlackBerry R10 Now Spotted In Black

The Alleged BlackBerry R10 Now Spotted In Black

BlackBerry currently only has two new smartphones to offer that run on its latest BB 10 OS. The company had previously confirmed that they will be releasing a number of new devices this year, including entry-level and mid-range smartphones. While rumors of a BlackBerry 10 powered tablet have been floating, we’ve seen the company maintain different product lineups in the past, such as the Curve and Bold. The first rumor of this BlackBerry 10 R-Series smartphone was actually a sketch by someone who had seen the device. Then this alleged smartphone was spotted in white, red and now it has been spotted in black as well.

Some unconfirmed specifications for the R10 have also been revealed. The smartphone might have a 3.1 inch display with a 720×720 resolution, 8 GB of internal storage, 2GB RAM, 5 megapixel camera on the back, 1800 mAh battery and BlackBerry 10.1 OS. Will this smartphone ever see the light of day? That remains to be seen. For what its worth, the handset in these leaks just might be a prototype of a smartphone that shares similar design aesthetics. The company’s CEO said a couple of weeks back that their new products will be fantastic, does the alleged R10 look like it is? [photos via DGtle]
