BlackBerry Z3 Compared With Z10 And Z30

BlackBerry Z3 Compared With Z10 And Z30

BlackBerry Z3 hasn’t been seen much in the flesh ever since it was unveiled back at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The company’s new low-end smartphone has been designed and developed in collaboration with Foxconn. Its initially destined for emerging markets, though BlackBerry has confirmed that an LTE variant will make its way to markets like the U.S. A picture has popped up online in which the BlackBerry Z3 is compared against the Z10 and Z30.

Following last year’s massive inventory write down, BlackBerry decided to partner with Foxconn for five years. Under the partnership, Foxconn will design and develop low-end devices while BlackBerry itself would focus on the high-end models. The Z3 is the first fruit of this partnership, and its design language is quite different from the one laid down in last year’s Z-series.

Instead of going for rounded edges and curves, the Z3 opts for straight lines and sharp edges. Some might even think it resembles Nokia phones, or even Sony’s, since both have launch some pretty popular phones with such sharp edges. It will be interesting to see what BlackBerry opts for in the high-end models, the company has already confirmed that QWERTY keyboard devices are going to resemble their ancestors quite a bit.

Its going to retail under $200. With a 5-inch display, possibly 720p, the smartphone will run BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 and will be first launched exclusively in Indonesia.

BlackBerry Z3 smartphone set to rock Indonesia

blackberry-z3BlackBerry might have been on the wane as a smartphone company for years now, no thanks to the meteoric rise of Android, iOS, and even Windows Phone in certain markets, but this does not mean that the company is dead and buried. Not yet, anyways. In fact, BlackBerry has retained quite a loyal following in selected countries, with Indonesia being one of them. Hence, it is not a surprise to see that the new BlackBerry Z3 smartphone has been announced (aka the BlackBerry Jakarta) recently, where it has been specially designed for folks who happen to live in Indonesia. Surprised much?

the all new BlackBerry Z3 smartphone will feature a bunch of local apps and content, where the body sports a modern design alongside a 5” full touchscreen display, as well as a long lasting battery to help you get through the day without missing a beat. Each BlackBerry Z3 smartphone will arrive with BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 onboard, where there are also plenty of other features to go with the handset.

For starters, there will be the ever present BlackBerry Hub that allows you to access the full range of your work and personal email, BBM, text messages, social media updates and notifications in a single place, while granting you the ability to “peek” into the BlackBerry Hub from just about anywhere, making sure you remain only one swipe away from what matters to you. The Hub is customizable, letting it identify priority messages as well as the ability to filter the message list using various criteria.

Other features that go along with the BlackBerry Z3 well include BBM, BlackBerry Keyboard, the Time Shift & Story Maker, and BlackBerry 10 Browser. Sharing files is also simplified and speeded up, while a built-in FM Radio makes sure you need not have a wired connection to remain entertained. We look forward to an April release for the BlackBerry Z3, although pricing details have yet to be determined.

BlackBerry Z30 Apps Will Automatically Be Available For The BlackBerry Z3

BlackBerry Z30 Apps Will Automatically Be Available For The BlackBerry Z3During MWC 2014, BlackBerry announced the BlackBerry Z3. The handset is the first device that resulted from BlackBerry and Foxconn’s partnership and will be a device targeted at emerging markets, such as Indonesia for example.

Unfortunately the full hardware specifications of the BlackBerry Z3 were not revealed during its announcement, but presumably it won’t be packing high-end hardware if BlackBerry and Foxconn expect to make it affordable. The good news is that despite it potentially being a low-end device, it will be able to run apps made for the BlackBerry Z30. (more…)
