Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls Mystic Artisan Detailed

Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls Mystic Artisan DetailedWe’re sure many Diablo 3 gamers are looking forward to the game’s expansion, Reaper of Souls, which some believe will most likely see a 2014 release. The expansion will introduce new acts, additional levels, new monsters, items, and of course a new artisan in the form of the Mystic. While the Mystic was revealed during the expansion’s announcement, it was only until recently that Blizzard revealed more about the upcoming artisan in a rather lengthy blog post. According to Blizzard, players will be able to rescue the Mystic in the city of Westmarch after which she will be able to enchant and transmorgrify your items, both of which at a small cost, of course.

For those unfamiliar, the Enchanting feature will allow players to reroll a property on an item. According to the description, “With Enchanting, you will be able to reroll one property on a Rare or Legendary item simply by speaking to Myriam, opening up her Enchant menu, and then paying a material cost. It’s that easy!” Transmorgrification on the other hand has merely to do with aesthetics where players can “change and customize the appearance of your hero’s items without having to sacrifice any of their power!” More details can be found on Blizzard’s Diablo 3 blog, but in the meantime what do you guys think of the new artisan and her abilities?

Color-Shifting Fey Dragon Mount For World Of Warcraft Spotted, Possible BlizzCon Goody Bag

Despite Blizzard’s World of Warcraft MMORPG being pretty old, Blizzard has never failed to stop maintaining the game and have continuously released expansions and additional content, and the latest piece of content found in Patch 5.3 is a mount. Granted mounts are hardly a big deal, this one could be as it has been discovered that this mount, referred to as the Enchanted Fey Dragon, is the first ever mount for World of Warcraft that can periodically change its color, undoubtedly making it pretty attractive not just in terms of looks, but in terms of value as well. As it stands there is no word on how players can get their hands on this mount, but there are several possibilities out there.

For starters it is possible that the Enchanted Fey Dragon mount could be given to players who attend BlizzCon 2013 which will be taking place next month, and that the mount could be part of the Goody Bags. The next possibility is that the mount could be sold through Blizzard’s online store where other World of Warcraft mounts, such as the Celestial Steed, can be purchased with real money. There is also the possibility that this mount could be a rare drop or a reward from either downing a raid boss or completing an achievement, but hopefully we will find out in the near future. In the meantime if you’d like to see the mount in action, check it out in the video above. Pretty cool, huh?

Blizzard Wins Legal Battle Against World Of Warcraft Bot Maker

Blizzard Wins Legal Battle Against World Of Warcraft Bot MakerWhen it comes to gaming, there are some games where farming, or grinding, is absolutely essential to either get to the next level, or to get items. Unfortunately this is both physically and mentally exhausting which is why some gamers have turned to using bots to do it for them while they sleep. Unfortunately this is illegal as far as most games are concerned, and Blizzard has in the past gone after bot makers and gamers for using bots in their games. While there are still plenty of bots out there and with new ones being made, at the very least Blizzard has managed to successfully shut down another bot company.

The developer has recently won a legal case against one of the World of Warcraft bot makers, Ceiling Fan Software, who are now facing a judgement of $7 million and will also see the immediate deactivation of all licenses as well as being forbidden to open-source their software. Essentially Blizzard is shutting their bot down for good. Like we said Ceiling Fan Software is one of many bot developers out there and while Blizzard might not be able to go after every single one of them, perhaps future bot makers will decide that the legal consequences of getting caught is simply not worth it and stop development.

Blizzard All-Stars Renamed To Heroes Of The Storm

It is no secret that Blizzard has been working on a DotA-like game for a while now which has been known as Blizzard All-Stars, at least until recently where the developer released a short trailer (check it out in the video above) in which they reintroduce the game as, Heroes of the Storm. The trademark for “Heroes of the Storm” was filed for a couple of weeks ago, and we guess that the name is now used for Blizzard’s upcoming MOBA, although previously some speculated that it could be the name for an upcoming World of Warcraft expansion.

The original game has been teased for quite a while now and we have not heard much from Blizzard about its features, or seen screenshots, or when we might see a release. However with this renaming of the game and the teaser trailer that was released with it, hopefully Blizzard will be able to share some concrete details come BlizzCon 2013 which will be taking place in November. As it stands there are a couple of games similar in style, such as the original DotA, League of Legends, and Valve’s DotA 2, so it will be interesting to see how well-received Heroes of the Storm will be. What do you guys think?

Blizzard Updates World Of Warcraft Package To Include Cataclysm

Blizzard Updates World Of Warcraft Package To Include CataclysmOver the years, Blizzard has slowly compiled World of Warcraft and its expansions into a battle chest of sorts, allowing gamers to get their hands on the game and some of its expansions at an extremely affordable price. Well the good news is that if you’re looking to kick off your World of Warcraft adventure, or perhaps get a friend into it, Blizzard has updated its World of Warcraft package to now include the Cataclysm expansion. This new package will cost gamers $20 and if you really want to progress beyond Cataclysm, you will just need to purchase the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

The package will include vanilla World of Warcraft, the Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm expansions. If this sounds like a great deal, just head on over to Blizzard’s website where you will be able to get your hands on the digital copy. This change to the World of Warcraft package comes around as BlizzCon 2013 approaches and where there is a chance that Blizzard will announce the next World of Warcraft expansion. Given that Mists of Pandaria has seen its last raid, at least a raid that’s relevant to the expansion and storyline, it would not be a stretch of the imagination to think that Blizzard would announce a new expansion later this year, but check back with us during Blizzard’s event to see if such an expansion will be announced.

World Of Warcraft Movie Given 18th Dec 2015 Release Date

World Of Warcraft Movie Given 18th Dec 2015 Release DateWe’re sure there are many World of Warcraft gamers out there and fans of Blizzard’s games who are looking forward to the World of Warcraft movie which has been scheduled to begin filming in 2014. Last we heard, names such as Colin Farrell and Paula Patton could make it into the movie, although what their roles are remains to be seen. In any case if filming is scheduled to begin in 2014, when could we see the release of the movie? Well the good news is that Blizzard seems to have a very specific date in mind and has announced via their World of Warcraft Twitter account that the movie will see a release on the 18th of December 2015, meaning that gamers will have to wait a good two years before seeing anything.

For those unfamiliar, the movie will be produced by Legendary Pictures and will be directed by Duncan Jones, the man behind movies such as Moon and Source/Code. It was previously thought that Legendary Pictures had teamed up with Warner Bros. to release the film, but according to Blizzard’s tweet, it looks like they might have gone with Universal instead. A trailer of the movie has yet to be released, not surprising given that they haven’t filmed anything yet, but there was a teaser that was shown off during Comic-Con that will hopefully make its way online in the near future.

    BlizzCon 2013 In-Game Goodies Revealed

BlizzCon 2013 In Game Goodies RevealedWith Blizzard enjoying massive success with their titles such as StarCraft 2, Diablo 3, and World of Warcraft, it is not surprising that BlizzCon is an event that many gamers look forward to every year. The event will be held later this year in November and the good news is that if you bought tickets to the event, or bought virtual tickets, Blizzard has revealed the goodies that you will be getting as a thank you of sorts. These items are in-game items and will apply to pretty much all of Blizzard’s games, including the recently released Hearthstone card game that was announced earlier this year.

World of Warcraft gamers can look forward to a Crusader Murloc, while Diablo 3 gamers can expect a special banner only available for BlizzCon attendees. StarCraft 2 players will receive a special portrait and a decal, while Hearthstone gamers can look forward to receiving a special commemorative card. The event will be taking place on the 8th and 9th of November, and for those living overseas or who aren’t able to attend the event in person, the virtual ticket can be purchased via Battle.net’s website where you will be able to stream the events live. Blizzard Looking For eSports Director For Blizzard All-Stars Game

Blizzard Looking For eSports Director For Blizzard All Stars GameLast we heard, Blizzard was still “actively working” on their DotA-like game which has been given the title, Blizzard All-Stars. The game is expected to feature characters and heroes from Blizzard’s franchises such as Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo, which should make it pretty interesting. However we have yet to hear anything about the release of the game but the good news is that if you were worried that Blizzard might have abandoned the title, fret not as a job listing found on Blizzard’s website has revealed that the company is currently looking for an eSports Director for the upcoming game.

Unsurprisingly Blizzard is hoping to give their upcoming game the same amount of attention in the eSports arena like DotA 2, which might explain why the company is looking for someone to help manage it. Like we said there’s still no word on when the game will see a release, but hopefully once Blizzard finds themselves an eSports director, more will be revealed, although with BlizzCon 2013 coming up in November, here’s hoping that the company will share more news about the game’s progress then! Blizzard has been known to take their time with their games so we guess this is not a complete surprise. In the meantime who else is looking forward to the game?

Blizzard Reaffirms That Diablo 3 For PC Will Not Have An Offline Version

Blizzard Reaffirms That Diablo 3 For PC Will Not Have An Offline VersionOne of the biggest issues Blizzard faced with Diablo 3 would be its always-on internet requirement. This is not a big deal for gamers who only want to play online, but for those who are just looking to enjoy the single player experience, this could be an issue in areas where internet is not so stable or readily available, or if there are server issues on Blizzard’s end which would not allow them to play the game, as evidenced at the launch of Diablo 3 where the game and its servers were plagued with connectivity problems. Now with Blizzard removing the Auction House from the game, we guess some players thought that perhaps Blizzard could also be looking to right some “wrongs” and perhaps even offer up an offline mode.

Unfortunately this is not the case as Blizzard has since released a statement to the folks at Rock, Paper, Shotgun, “We do not have plans to implement an offline mode. While the always-online requirement made the auction house possible, the auction house was never the driving factor in our decision to make the PC version of Diablo III require an Internet connection. The game was built from the ground up to take full advantage of Battle.net, which provides a number of important benefits, including persistent server-side character saves, a seamless PC multiplayer experience, cheat prevention, and Real ID and BattleTag social features.”

Blizzard Warns Battle.net Mobile Authenticator Could Run Into Issues With iOS 7

Blizzard Warns Battle.net Mobile Authenticator Could Run Into Issues With iOS 7Blizzard’s Battle.net authenticator has served as an added layer of security to prevent your account from being hacked or access by non-authorized individuals. If you use it frequently and you have the mobile version of the app (available for both iOS and Android), you might want to hold off from updating your iOS device to iOS 7 just yet because according to a blog post by Blizzard, it could mess things up for you. According to Blizzard, they have identified a likely scenario in which updating your iPhone to iOS 7 could cause the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app to reset.

This is not a huge deal as Blizzard has since listed a couple of ways to go about this while they work on an update that will hopefully deal with the iOS 7 issue. One of the ways suggested by Blizzard was to use the SMS service, or record down your authenticator’s serial number and restore code, remove the authenticator from your Battle.net account and reattach it post-update, or you could try updating to iOS 7 over WiFi instead of straight from your computer. The details can be found on Blizzard’s blog in the source link below, so you should probably check it out to save yourself from any issues that might pop up.
