Redefine Singing in the Shower

What is it about getting in the shower that suddenly makes us want to sing? It is obviously the same disease that infects us when we get in our car. I’m suddenly turned into Aretha Franklin or Adele or something. Very scary for those within earshot. But there is something therapeutic about being drenched in your favorite music or news while showering.

High five to Kohler. They did what we knew would eventually come. Meet Moxie, your new Bluetooth shower head. Well, technically it is a showerhead with a Bluetooth speaker in the center. With single button connectivity, syncing the speaker with your source is easy. Then simply dock it via magnetic connection in the showerhead. You’ll get 7 hours of use before you need to disconnect and re-charge and an LED will indicate when it is time to recharge. Since the speaker can be disconnected, take your tunes with you once you leave the shower too. The 60 nozzle showerhead easily delivers a full spray. As you would expect from Kohler, the unit is designed to resist corrosion and the silicon spray surface means easy cleaning. The speaker is always white, but take your choice of polished chrome or white showerhead. If this no brainer is for you visit Amazon and pick one up for $199. Your shower time will never be the same.

Logic3’s Ferrari-branded headphones and speakers make their stateside debut, no license required to rock

Logic3's Ferraribranded headphones and speakers make their stateside debut, no license needed to rock

Ferrari isn’t a stranger to licensing its brand for use on gadgets. As of this week, the automaker’s added some new offerings in the US on the audio-front with the help of Logic3. Way back at CES we got our eyes on the duo’s full lineup of co-branded headphones and speakers, and now folks in the US can officially get their hands on two such offerings (Tim Stevens-approved racing gloves not required). Its $400 Cavallino T350 headphones come in black or tan, featuring 40mm drivers, active noise cancellation, an in-line remote / mic for your smartphone and a tangle-proof cord. As you’d expect, they’re crafted from premium metal and leather for an extra luxurious feel on the ears. Those looking to fill a room with sound should take note of the $500 Scuderia FS1. It’s a 2.1 speaker system complete with Bluetooth and the ever-aging 30-pin connector for older iOS devices. Sure, it’s been a slow start to market, but here’s to hoping the performance matches the prices — hey, it still beats an actual payment on one of Ferrari’s actual whips. Full press released after the break.

Ferrari by Logic3 launches new headphones, Bluetooth speaker dock

If you’re the type of person who needs every aspect of life to be stylish (and/or expensive), then Ferrari by Logic3 has a pair of new products aimed directly at you. Today Logic3 announced that its launching its Cavallino T350 headphones and Scuderia FS1 Bluetooth speaker dock worldwide. Both look pretty sleek, but with that unmistakable Ferrari branding, both will also cost a pretty penny.

Let’s start right off with the Cavallino T350 headphones. These headphones come equipped with 40mm drivers and Active Noise Cancelling technology, so they should do something to keep ambient noise at a minimum. The band and ear cups are decked out in leather, and the Cavallino T350 features an in-line remote to help with ease-of-use with mobile devices and MP3 players. The headphones will require a payment of $399, so be prepared to plop down some serious cash if you want a set for yourself.

Next we come to the Scuderia FS1 Bluetooth speaker dock. The 2.1 speaker system features Class HD technology that’s been integrated with a Digital Signal Processor, which Logic3 says results in excellent sound quality despite the dock’s small size. It also comes equipped with Bluetooth for wireless playback (obviously), along with a 30-pin connector so you can connect your iDevices. That kind of functionality will cost you though, as the Scuderia FS1 has been stuck with a price tag of $549.

So both are pretty expensive, but if you want to pick one up, the Cavallino T350 and the Scuderia FS1 are available now at Ferrari’s website. If you’re more the brick and mortar type, Logic3 says they’ll be available at “select retailers nationwide,” but failed to actually mention any stores that carry these products. What do you think, are these Ferrari branded peripherals for you, or are they a little too expensive for your tastes?

Moxie Shower Head with Bluetooth Speaker: Songs on the Water

Some people love to sing while taking a shower. Not to brag, but I’m one of the world’s greatest listeners, so I prefer my bathtime music to come from another source. If you have the same preference, first of all high five! Second, here’s a shower head who prefer to leave our music to the professionals.

Handy Dandy Mouse-Keyboard Combo Fits into Your Pocket

Most of the portable keyboards I’ve seen are too bulky for my taste. Either they’re bigger than the actual device that you want to use it with or they’re twice as thick.

If you’re on the hunt for a portable yet completely functional keyboard for your mobile, then look no further.

Donya’s compact QWERTY Bluetooth keyboard lets you type away without having to worry about your fat fingers hitting other keys (as they usually do on your device’s virtual keyboard.) In addition to working with mobile devices, it can be used with the PS3. It also crams in a clickable touchpad on the side for your Windows and Mac devices.

The best thing – as I’ve mentioned earlier – is its size. Comparable to the size of an iPhone, this portable keyboard  fits easily into your pocket or laptop sleeve without adding much to the bulk.

Plus, it’s reasonably priced. It sells for ¥2999 (~$37 USD.) At the moment, it looks like you’ll have to order one from Japan if you want one, but you can always try and use a service like White Rabbit Express to import one for you.

Bluetooth Streaming Wherever, Whenever

Walk down the street in any city. How many people have earbuds in? The percentage increases at a frightening rate. The trend is here to stay, that is for sure. So the next quest becomes how to make our mobile audio experience better. We certainly don’t want to risk dropping the phone or device while fumbling around to advance songs. So the device stays securely in our pocket while we sift through layers of clothing to access it. Not convenient at all.

BlueAnt can help with the dilemma of getting audio from your stowed device to your ears. The Ribbon stereo Bluetooth streamer easily attaches to a shirt, pocket or bag. Sync with your phone or audio device and plug your headphones in to the 3.5mm jack and you are in business. Easily advance or back up with controls on the Ribbon. So the hassle of digging through your belongings to switch songs is over.  Also, for those that don’t have Bluetooth in your car you can now! Attach the Ribbon to your auxiliary jack in your car and stream from your phone. Amazon.com is out of stock at the moment, but BlueAnt’s website sells the Ribbon for just $69. Go ahead, enable Bluetooth streaming of tunes wherever the need arises.

Wallet TrackR Can’t Keep Track of its Missing “E”

We’ve seen how socks can be made smarter using RFID. This device does the same to your wallet – or any object you attach it to – except it uses Bluetooth and GPS. You’ll also need an iOS device. Because Android users can build their own tracking device. Oh sna – wait, I have an iPhone. Dammit.

wallet trackr bluetooth gps ios device

The Wallet TrackR is a credit-card sized device that works in conjunction with a free iOS app. In other words, the TrackR isn’t really concerned if your wallet is near you; it just wants to be with your iOS device all the time. When the two get separated, the TrackR will send a signal to your iOS device. It will also take a “GPS snapshot” so you can see its location from within the app. Finally, you can make the TrackR ring an alarm from the app to make it easier to find your wallet. The TrackR has a range of 100ft. and a user-replaceable battery that lasts up to 10 months.

Pledge at least $19 (USD) on its official website to reserve your own Wallet TrackR (There’s a limited quantity available at this price, then it goes up to a still-reasonable pre-release price of $29). Obviously its reliance on Apple’s gadgets will make it a deal breaker for many people. Perhaps inventor Phone Halo should also release a keychain remote to make the device more versatile.

Like to sing in the shower? Take a seat on your grandma’s old bathing stool — your own shower head is about to show you up. Kohler’s latest water dispersal nozzle, Moxie, features a detachable Bluetooth speaker secured in the shower head’s center with a magnet. It sounds like a bad Yakov Smirnoff gag: in Soviet Russia, shower sings to you! The speaker pops off the sprayer when it’s time to towel off, and promises to provide up to seven hours of sudsy tunes before needing a recharge. The only thing it seems to be missing is a water powered micro-turbine. Read on for Kohler’s official press release.
