If you are a huge fan of Borderlands 2, here is some news that is more or less guaranteed to give your day a lift. We have, in fact, managed to uncover some of the mysterious new IPs and freebies, and the process of doing so requires you to snag the community day 2013 digital access pack for Borderlands 2. Upon doing so, you will be able to get in on a beta for an as-of-yet unannounced title from Gearbox Software, which so happens to be the first of the two spanking new projects that Gearbox Software has in the works at this point in time. That is not all though, as you will also be on the receiving end of Homeworld HD and Homeworld Classic, so no complaints from us there.

Available from today onwards for Borderlands 2 would be the Ultimate Vault Hunter 2 pack. Assuming you are on the lookout to raise that level cap by 11, this particular piece of digital content would most probably be under your radar for quite some time already. Apart from that, there is also the Digistruct Peak Challenge pack which can be purchased for $4.99 a pop. Should you obtain both of these add-ons, it will result in you unlocking additional content. Pretty cool rewards, no?

The very talented case modder Javier Riquelme customized several PlayStation 3 consoles for Sony, who in turn gave them as gifts to its partner developers and publishers. With the exception of what seems to be Javier’s trademark flourish, each console looks radically different and suited to its theme. This dude is for real.

As I said, each casemod is unique; if someone told me that the Borderlands-themed PS3 was made by someone from Gearbox Software while the Metal Gear Rising one was made by a cyborg ninja from Kojima’s lair I would have believed that. But Javier does like adding thick letters with LEDs that contrast nicely with the rest of the sweet art on the surface of the console.

All of these look awesome, but I want to shake Javier’s hand just for the Assassin’s Creed casemod. I don’t even like that franchise and I want the console. You can see more shots of Javier’s work on his Imgur gallery, on his Twitter page and on his Facebook page.

Shortly after the release of Borderlands 2, we were introduced to a new playable character, Gaige the Mechromancer, which was released as a downloadable add-on in October. This week, Gearbox Software unveiled a new playable character which is expected to be released on May 14 called Krieg the Psycho Bandit.

Krieg the Psycho Bandit is a reformed version of the Psychos we’re sure you Borderlands players have become quite familiar with. Krieg will use a combination of his trusty axe and explosives to take down his enemies and will come with three skill trees: Bloodlust, which will increase Krieg’s abilities when he kills with his Buzz Axe; Mania, which will increase his damage output as he takes damage; and Hellborn, which will make him an even deadlier character when he’s on fire.
