Modi-Corp unveils build-it-yourself electric vehicle

Modi-Corp, a Japanese based firm, has just revealed its build-it-yourself micro electric vehicle (EV). The vehicle is called the “Pius” and is a single-seat vehicle. It can also be registered as a class-1 motorized bicycle in Japan.

The company expects that the Pius will be used as an educational tool to learn the basic functions and structure of an EV. They plan to sell it to universities, technology colleges, and car mechanics’ school.  Modi also offers a service of embedding components in the vehicle so customers can use the vehicle to evaluate the components. We have no info on the price of the Pius and has a scheduled release in or after the spring of 2013. No word on any possible release in the US. Would you be interested in building your own EV?
