Personally, I find baking cakes infinitely harder than cooking savories because you can’t really cheat when it comes to the former. By “cheat,” I mean correct mistakes you made along the way. For example, when you’re cooking and you find it’s too bland, then you can just add salt and pepper to taste. You can’t do the same when it comes to baking, because once that tray is in the oven, then all you can do is wait.

Another thing is that you won’t know how your cake will turn out until it’s served, because you can’t exactly cut out a piece to try it before anyone else can get a slice of their own. This is where Nibble Pan offers you a bit of help.

While it won’t let you “fix” bad batches of baked stuff, it will let you know if you whipped up an “off” cake by letting you try it before anyone else does – or let you sneak a bite instead of impatiently digging into the main cake. The Nibble Pan comes with an extra slot on the side, where you can pour a bit of your extra batter to make a cupcake version of your cake. How’s that for baking innovation?

Keep in mind that the smaller baked goodie will probably cook quicker than the main section of the pan, so you’ll want to snag your personal snack-size cake early.

I remember being a kid and watching Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom. It was a great movie for kids, but one part that always grossed me out was the chilled monkey brains that were served in the palace. Gross.

Well, if you enjoyed that scene from the classic Indiana Jones movie, you can relive it with your own chilled monkey brains cake. Yes, you can make this and creep everyone out. This twisted cake comes from Instructable user BubbleandSweet.

You can bet it will taste better than the real thing. It looks just like the monkey from the movie. It even has the white hair just like in the movie. It looks delicious, but gross.

Instant ramen soup. It’s an amazing geek food, even if those flavor packets will kill you with MSG and sodium. Gamers especially love the stuff, because of it’s easy to make nature. You can make it and barely be distracted from your game. Well, what if I told you that you could have a Ramen noodle cake?

This awesome Ramen noodle cake is nowhere nearly as easy to make, but I bet it is even more delicious than Ramen noodles. It’s chicken flavored of course, because we all know that is the best flavor. And the flavor packet is a nice touch too. As an added bonus, there’s no MSG here. I think.

No water required for this Ramen package. That would be disgusting.

One of the most popular things people post on Instagram is pictures of food. So why shouldn’t it make sense to make some food that looks like Instagram’s logo? That’s exactly what Ann Reardon of How to Cook That did when she made this awesome Instagram cake.

The cake is made from layers of chocolate mousse, colorful Jell-O with cream, along with cake, and frosting, natch. However, the diagram below is a little confusing. If I were to follow it literally, I’d have to include an actual lens and viewfinder in my recipe:

It’s also got some sort of delectable chocolate sculpture on top – because mousse, Jell-O and cake isn’t enough dessert for me.

Nintendo remade The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in high definition for their sinking ship the Wii U. Nerdache Cakes on the other hand remade the game’s characters in edible 3D. Her lucky customer had cel shading and ate it.

Nerdache Cakes said that “the whole ship is cake, while the King of Red Lions is carved foam and chocolate.” Mmmm, foam.
