Canon has just announced that they will release a digital single-lens reflex camera “EOS 70D” with Canon’s new AF technology “Dual pixel CMOS AF” on August 29.

The new APS-C size CMOS sensor (20.2 million pixels) and the Canon DIGIC 5+ Image Processor brings high image quality and high rate of continuous shooting (7fps). ISO range is from 100 to 12800 that is able to be expandable up to ISO 25600. There are 19 all cross type AF points.

It has a 3-inch TFT color LC monitor with 10.4 million dot pixels. It’s compatible with wireless LAN.

2 kinds of lens kits will be out in mid September: EF-S18-55 IS STM lens kit and EF-S18-135 IS STM lens kit.

Canon has always been one step ahead of the pack when it comes to putting video in DSLRs. From the pro 5D to the beginner Rebel T’s, it’s been a leader. But the new tech in the Canon EOS 70D could change things forever once again.

In our limited experience, Pivothead’s Durango is available for $349, but beyond that, the field’s a bit limited. ZionEyez Zeyez still doesn’t have an ETA for its products and SunnyCam’s ultra-low cost recording goggles won’t make it to the US until later this year. Let’s turn this question over to our audience, who, we’re sure will have some better and cheaper suggestions.

Panasonic is going to release the thin and light fixed focal length pancake lens “LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 ASPH.” (Model: H-H020A) in mid July.

It got 13g lighter than the previous model “H-H020″ that has the same lens construction of 7 elements in 5 groups (2 Aspherical lenses).
