Justice Cap Makes Your Face Invisible to Cameras: Vampire Hat

If you have a thing about people taking your picture – whether it’s discretely or with your knowledge – then you might want to get one of these Justice Caps.

Justice CapThey look like your average ball cap, except for the fact that they’ve got a strip of high-powered LEDs on the visor. And it’s this strip of LEDs that makes all the difference, as they virtually black out your face from digital cameras and facial recognition systems. They work best in low-level lighting environments, such as when you’re in a club or outdoors when it’s dark out. That said, they won’t do much for you in broad daylight, although they may still conceal part of your face.

The Justice Cap is available online for $14.99(USD).

Dragon Ball Scouter Cap: Saiyan Glass

Costume specialist Cospa will be selling a Dragon Ball Z Kai cap with a built-in scouter. You can flip the scouter’s lens up and inside the cap when you’re not assessing opponents. Because if you need a scouter to measure a farmer’s power level, you’re just showing that you’re not confident in your own strength.

Aside from its adjustable dorkiness, the cap is also better than ordinary scouters because it makes it appear like you have a six-pack on your head.

Pandora will remove 40-hour mobile listening limit next month

Pandora will remove 40hour mobile listening limit next month

There’s nothing quite like a 180, and that’s what Pandora plans to pull as next month rolls in. The outfit’s 40-hour mobile listening limit, which was established back in February, will be history in September. The move was announced today by CFO Mike Herring, as he stated the following:

“When we introduced the 40 hour mobile listening limit, we were confident that our scale — over 7 percent of total radio listening and Pandora’s number one ranking in most major markets — would allow us to take this action without impacting our key monetization initiatives in driving the disruption of the radio advertising market and driving our mobile advertising leadership. As our results have shown, the continued strong growth in our advertising revenue allowed us to cover the increased royalty costs with dollars left over to invest back into the business. With these tools in hand, and insight into how they work, we are resetting our levers in September.

Notably, Pandora plans to eliminate the blanket 40-hour-per-month limit on free mobile listening effective September 1st. In the 6 months since we first implemented the free mobile listening limitation, we have gained critical insights into our user population that has given us greater control of our business. Because of these insights Pandora has implemented both other surgical levers to control content cost and new features that will allow for greater product usage.”

It’s not clear why the the reversal is being made — be it uproar from loyal users or something else entirely — but those who found themselves perturbed by such a notion will have plenty to celebrate in just a few days.

Bräuler Modular Growler System Keeps Your Beer from Going Flat

Nothing tastes yuckier than beer that’s gone stale. Of course, you could just pour that old lager down the drain – or you could prevent your brew from going stale by getting the Bräuler Modular Growler System.

FreshcapIt’s basically the world’s first stainless steel modular growler system that lets you inject carbon dioxide into your brew before you drink it so it’s still as bubbly and good as ever, even though you’ve been carrying it around and shaking out all the CO2 from it the whole night (or day.)

The team behind the project recently launched a campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for FreshCap, which is what you’re supposed to use to inject the carbon dioxide.

Interested? You get a Gen-3 basic set containing the Bräuler bottle and the FreshCap system for a minimum pledge of $100(USD). If you want the FreshCap only, you can get it by pitching in $50.

FCC wants to know if it’s too modest about broadband, gives chance to fight caps and slow speeds

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski

A common complaint with the FCC’s National Broadband Plan is its conservative definition of the broadband in question: many would argue that the 4Mbps baseline is an anachronism in an era of 4G, FiOS and Google Fiber. If you’ve ever wanted the FCC to up the ante, now’s your chance. The regulator wants comments on its definitions of fixed and mobile broadband to gauge whether real-world trends like multi-user streaming video should lead to raised expectations for internet providers. Ever been burnt by a too-low bandwidth cap? It’s open season on that area as well, with the FCC asking if it should define a minimum acceptable cap and possibly call for better limits than we see today. We just share GigaOM‘s wish that we could ask if every cap is even necessary, although the Department of Justice might be answering that for us. Americans have up until September 20th to make their voices heard, so get cracking if you’d like to set a higher bar.
