Most Branded Rug Ever: Jeans Labels Carpet

If your dream is to own at least a few hundred designer labels or so, then your search is over. And no, I’m not talking about some lottery where you’ll be able to afford all the brands that you want to own; rather, I’m talking about the Jeans Labels carpet.

As its name implies, the carpet is made entirely from recycled jeans’ labels. Each one is painstakingly sewn on top of another, and another, creating a carpet that looks like a patchwork of labels from brands you might recognize yourself.

Under the slogan “Recycle”, here renowned denim label were assembled in the patch-style to a beautifully finished carpet with high stability and durability. What was discarded in Western industrialized nations, awakened by the diversity of creativity back to life.

These 18″ x 20″ low-pile rugs are officially being called “mats” so I’m not sure exactly how plush they’ll feel, but at least your floor look much better with Paper Mario and Paper Toad hanging out on them. Both rugs are coming from Japanese collectibles maker FuRyu this April, and you can pre-order now over on NCSX for $18.90(USD) each or $35.90 for the pair.

Starship Enterprise Rug: Feet, the Final Frontier

I just finished a five-year mission to explore strange new worlds, and boy are my feet tired. There’s no better spot to transport your tired toes than to the surface of a Starship Enterprise rug.

This Star Trek inspired rug features a large image of the original NCC-1701 as viewed from above. While it doesn’t run on dilithium crystals, that should help cut down on operating costs. It measures 71.5″ x 39.4″, is made from polyester, and has a non-skid back to keep it sliding around your floor and making you fly across your room at Warp 10.

So gather up your Federation Credits, hop in the transporter, and have Scotty beam you over to ThinkGeek – where you can pick up the NCC-1701 rug for $69.99(USD).

Memory Rug Inspired by Circuit Boards: Soft Hardware

It doesn’t take a computer engineer to be intrigued by the appearance of printed circuit boards, the foundation and highway for the hundreds of electronic components that make our electronic devices function. Thier cryptic yet functional arrangement – like an alien city viewed from above – inspired designer Lukas Scherrer to make the Memory Rug.

As with many carpets, the Memory Rug has repeating patterns and elements, only in this case its parts resemble processors, conductive pathways and the like. But unlike a real circuit board the Memory Rug is made of nothing but wool felt.

I wonder if it’s upgradable.

Princess Peach Rug: Your Princess is on Another Carpet

After a hard day’s work in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario likes nothing better than to come home to his love, Princess Peach. Though I didn’t realize that he wanted to stomp all over her like some unwanted Goombah.

These Eye-Popping Rugs Are Actually Perfectly Flat [Design]

These rugs, which depict the five senses of touch, smell, sight, taste and hearing, seem to leap out as three-dimensional shapes as you look at them. Weirdly, though, they are in fact perfectly flat. More »
