Lion Hat Turns Your Pet Cat into a Pet Lion

Some cats are small but terrible – in a good way of course. Like they say, the best surprises come in the smallest of packages, and cats fit this description to a tee: they might not be the biggest pet in your home or the biggest creature in the world, but they’ve got personalities as big as can be and they’re often not afraid to show it.

This is why the Lion Hat is so appropriate and fitting for your feline companion.

Lion Hat

It’s basically a miniature mane that’ll transform your cat into a miniature lion. It’s probably already the king (or queen) of your home as speak, so why not make it official and crown it with a fiery mane of glory?

Of course, it’s not limited to feline use, as the Lion Hat fits most average-sized cats and dogs. So if you want, you can also dress your canine pals up to be the king of their own domains. The hat is made from synthetic fur, while the ears are crafted from plush felt.

It’s as adorable as pet hats and costumes can get, and it’s available online for $38(USD) at Nesta’s Nest on Etsy.

Laser Space Cat Leggings: Pew! Pew! Mew!

Ladies – I can’t think of a better way to tell the world you mean business than with a pair of these awesome Laser Space Cats leggings.

laser cat leggings

Presumably, they were inspired by the classic/weird SNL/Andy Samberg/Bill Hader Laser Cats skits, but those cats shot lasers from their mouths. I suppose they could have been inspired some other cats with laser beams for eyes.

Games for Cats Hackathon Seeks Just That

Cat Travels 200 Miles to Find Its Way Home

Reports of an amazing story concerning a lost cat have turned up this week. A couple who owned a four-year-old cat named Holly took her on vacation, 200 miles from home. While they were there, the cat ran away and they couldn’t find her anywhere. The couple eventually gave up looking and had to return home, figuring they would never see their beloved kitty again.

You can imagine their surprise when a month later they received a call from their hometown vet that their cat had turned up there. That means that somehow Holly traveled 200 miles and found her way home.

Not Holly the Cat

The cat was found in a part of West Palm Beach, Florida where Jacob and Bonnie Richter reside. Some people on the other side of their town found Holly, and took her to the vet because she was weak and thin. The veterinarian discovered that Holly was implanted with a tracking chip and called the Richters to come pick her up. Apparently, some cats have integrated GPS. This is even more amazing because our cat won’t come to me from across the couch.

Cat Smuggles Gadgets into Prison, Not a Mouse Among Them

As we already know, prisoners can be very inventive with all of that time they have on their hands. Now, it turns out that inmates at one prison have been using a very sly and clever way to sneak contraband tools and gadgets in – using a cat.

cat contraband

According to the Associated Press, guards at a medium-security prison in Brazil grew suspicious when they saw a cat sauntering around the prison grounds on New Years Eve. When the cat was captured, they found a cellphone, drills, small saws and other contraband taped to its body.

They don’t know which inmate(s) are responsible for the tom-cat-foolery, and they’ll probably never know for sure, since their cat conspirator isn’t saying a word. There’s no word on the status of the mischievous feline, who remains in the custody of animal control, but hopefully it will be put up for adoption.

Fake Tail Displays Your Heart Rate: I Whip My Tail Back and Forth

In the old days, people can tell what someone is feeling by their facial expressions or by using special mouth sounds like “I’m sad. I don’t have anyone to talk to, which makes it sadder that I’m talking right now.” But apparently people these days are lying cowards who don’t want to express what they really feel. So now we have this.

tailly heart rate monitor tail

The device is called the Tailly. It was invented by Shota Ishiwatari, the same man who came up with the brain-controlled cat ears and tails. The Tailly on the other hand looks at the wearer’s heart rate.

It’s a testament to how long I’ve been writing for Technabob that it’s the boring outfits of the people in the video that I find to be really weird and not the fake tails they’re wearing. Pledge at least £60 (~$96 USD) Kickstarter page to reserve your own Tailly. I’ll jump on the bandwagon when they come up with something that lets me run as fast as a cheetah.
