LG G Pro 2 Specs “Confirmed” In Benchmark

LG G Pro 2 Specs Confirmed In BenchmarkThe LG G Pro 2 will be LG’s successor to the original G Pro which was launched in 2013. The G Pro 2 is expected to be announced ahead of MWC 2014, assuming the rumors are to be believed. Now in terms of specs, what we have heard so far are only rumors, although LG has since confirmed several features, such as how the handset would feature OIS Plus technology for its camera. Well now thanks to recently leaked AnTuTu benchmarks, it looks like there are additional specifications of the LG G Pro 2 that have been “confirmed”, although we do suggest you maintain a degree of skepticism for now, at least until the official announcement.

Now according to the benchmark results, it seems that the LG G Pro 2 will feature a Full HD display. As to the size of the display, that remains unknown although the rumors peg it at 5.9-inch or possibly even a 6-inch display. It will also pack 3GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset clocked at 2.26GHz, 32GB of onboard storage, and it looks like the handset will come with Android 4.4 KitKat preinstalled. It should be noted that benchmark results can be faked, although we’re not sure who would want to go to all that trouble, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but if its rumored 13th February announcement is anything to go by, check back with us in the next couple of days for more updates.

T-Mobile Wins Lawsuit Against AT&T’s Aio Wireless

T Mobile Wins Lawsuit Against AT&Ts Aio WirelessWhile Magenta might not be T-Mobile’s official name, it is what the carrier is referred to at times, just like how some people still refer to AT&T as Ma Bell, and how Verizon is also sometimes known as Big Red. That being said, magenta is also the color used by T-Mobile in their logo and unsurprisingly they weren’t too pleased when they discovered that AT&T’s Aio Wireless used the same color as them, which ultimately led to a lawsuit. Naturally AT&T claims that they did not use the magenta color, but we guess their argument is invalid as the courts have ruled in T-Mobile’s favor.

According to a statement that T-Mobile released upon learning about their win, “The court agreed with us that Aio can’t continue infringing T-Mobile’s magenta mark by using large blocks of what it has called “plum,” and told Aio to stop using magenta or similar colors in all of its marketing and advertising, including stores, web sites and social media.” This was also followed up by a rather spiteful tweet by T-Mobile’s CEO, John Legere, who wrote, “Young bullies steal lunch money, old bullies steal brand colors, right #Randall? Too bad we fight for our brand color”. What do you guys think? Are the colors any cause for concern of mistaken identity?

Flappy Bird Sold On eBay For Hundreds Of Dollars

Flappy Bird Sold On eBay For Hundreds Of DollarsInstead of reveling in the success of his game, Flappy Bird, its creator has decided to remove the game from all the app stores that it is available in at the moment, claiming that he “cannot take this anymore”. He claims it has nothing to do with legal issues, but many speculate that could be the case. Well whatever it is, if you weren’t quick on the draw in downloading the game, you will not be able to get your hands on it anymore, unless you’re willing to pay hundreds of dollars for it, of course. Nope, this isn’t the developer selling the game off, but rather enterprising iPhone owners who have taken to eBay to auction off the iPhones with the game preinstalled on it.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are many listings on eBay for the phone with the game installed on it. The prices of the phones are around the $600-$800 mark, with one particular unit even selling for $1,500. Interestingly enough there seems to be several bids on these listings, suggesting that there is a market for iPhones with Flappy Bird preinstalled on them. We’re not sure if all these listings will be successful but what do you guys think? Is this taking the craze for the game a little too far?

HTC Will Launch $150-$300 Smartphones In 2014

HTC Will Launch $150 $300 Smartphones In 2014Apple, despite not selling low-end handsets, is doing very well for themselves. Nokia on the other hand despite selling high-end handsets, has actually done better for itself by selling low-end devices like the Nokia Lumia 520, so which strategy should one adopt? Go high-end and get a higher profit margin? Or go low-end and capture a larger market? Well we suppose that would be subject to a variety of other factors to take into consideration, but in the meantime HTC fans will be pleased to learn that HTC will not be abandoning their low-end market entirely. According to a report from Reuters, HTC’s Chairwoman, Cher Wang, revealed that the company was planning on selling more $150-$300 handsets in 2014.

As you might recall back in 2013, HTC did not exactly focus on the low-end market, with devices like the HTC One and HTC One Max not exactly of the budget variety. This is compared to 2012 where HTC had devices like the HTC One V which was priced to capture the low-end market. At this point in time we have not heard anything about low-end HTC devices, save for the HTC M8 Mini which at the very least would be priced cheaper than the HTC M8 although we’re not sure if that would be considered to be an entry-level handset. Perhaps HTC will have more to share during MWC 2014, so check back with us then for the details.
