Samsung Wants Apple’s Logo Hidden During The Olympics

Samsung Wants Apples Logo Hidden During The OlympicsIn the past we have seen embarrassing tweets and posts from celebrities who were paid to endorse a particular phone brand, but ending up tweeting that promotion from another device instead. Perhaps learning from many such mishaps, Samsung has reportedly told all Olympians to hide the Apple logo from their iPhones if they were to use it to record events during the open ceremonies. As you guys are aware, the Winter Olympics are upon us and in light of that, Samsung has decided to take it as a great opportunity to spread the word about their products.

According to reports, Samsung has apparently given every Olympian taking part in the games a free Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and because of that, they are asking Olympians to hide the Apple logo from their iPhones. These guidelines were revealed when members of the Swiss Olympic team found them inserted into the gift bags. What do you guys think? Do you feel that it is unreasonable for Samsung to ask that the Olympians hide the Apple logos from their iPhones? Also, do you think that Samsung’s guidelines will be enforced? Or will we be seeing Olympians openly use their iPhones to start recording the ceremonies anyway?

BlackBerry Browser Speeds Are The Fastest [Study]

BlackBerry Browser Speeds Are The Fastest [Study]When it comes to browsing speeds, the faster the better, obviously, but speed has a few factors, such as the browser used and also your internet connectivity. Having a fast browser but surfing on EDGE probably cancels each other out, right? Well if we were to disregard internet connectivity speed and assume that all speeds are equal, apparently BlackBerry’s browser would be the browser to beat. This is according to a new study conducted by New Relic which has found that BlackBerry is leading the way when it comes to page load times.

According to the study, it has been found that BlackBerry’s page load times clock in at an average of 1.55 seconds. This is pretty damn fast and in our review of the BlackBerry Z10, we found page loading times to be pretty fast as well. Apparently the next closest would be Mobile Opera Mini 4.2 which manages to load a page in 4.78 seconds, which even then seems pretty far from the zippy 1.55 seconds of BlackBerry. Of course this doesn’t mean that everyone will start flocking to BlackBerry and purchasing their devices, but it’s definitely something to think about, especially if you use your smartphone to surf the web extensively as all those seconds waiting for the page to load can add up.

Sony Sends Out MWC 2014 Invites

Sony Sends Out MWC 2014 InvitesFor those who love all things mobile, such as phone and tablets, MWC is probably an event you don’t want to miss. We expect that there will be many devices announced at MWC 2014, but in terms of companies confirmed to make an announcement, Sony has recently started to send out invites to an event that they will be hosting on the 24th of February in Barcelona where MWC will be held at. Unsurprisingly the invite does not tell us what sort of devices we might be able to expect from Sony, but given the fact that the event is about mobile and the leaks we’ve been hearing about, it’s not too hard to guess.

One of the possible announcements Sony is expected to make will be about the Sony Xperia Z2, the follow up to last year’s Sony Xperia Z1. The device is rumored to feature a display with a higher resolution and while the camera’s megapixels will remain the same, it is rumored to have been improved upon, although this will require us to take it for a test-spin to find out. There is also the possibility that Sony could announce a new tablet too in the form of the Castor, although the exact specifics remain unknown. Either way do check back with us then for all the details.

Super Bowl 2014 Attendees On Verizon Used 1.9TB Of Data In Stadium

Super Bowl 2014 Attendees On Verizon Used 1.9TB Of Data In Stadium

It has just been a few days since one of the year’s biggest sporting events was held at the MetLife Stadium, I am of course talking about Super Bowl 2014. Prior to the Big Game, we reported that online video streaming would be banned in the stadium so as to avoid bandwidth constraints. The stadium holds over 85,000 people and the NFL wanted them to be able to update their social networks and stay in touch, which is why it decided to block the game’s video streaming. Still, attendees decimated a huge amount of data, with Verizon’s subscribers topping the list by using 1.9 terabytes of data at the stadium on Super Bowl Sunday.

Nokia Treasure Tag App Appears As Internal Beta

Nokia Treasure Tag App Appears As Internal BetaSome companies are not very good at keeping secrets, and when it comes to Nokia’s Treasure Tag, this is one particular device which has seen its fair share of leaks in the past, so much so that not too few people were surprised to see that Nokia’s Treasure Tag Bluetooth 4.0 accessory failed to materialize in the flesh at Nokia World last year. Well, just like how all good things always come to those who wait, apparently this particular device is being ramped up to make its way to the market especially when you take into consideration that an internal app has already showed its face in the Windows Phone Store for the Nokia Treasure Tag Bluetooth 4.0 accessory.

BLU LIFE PURE Mini Smartphone Unveiled

BLU LIFE PURE Mini Smartphone Unveiled It does seem as though all decent smartphone manufacturers will need to look into churning out a “mini” version of their flagship in order to keep up with the times, and the folks over at BLU LIFE too, have jumped aboard this particular bandwagon. The BLU LIFE PURE mini would be a compact yet powerful version of the flagship device, the BLU LIFE PURE. This particular smartphone claims to come with a “stunning design and premium build quality”, although at first glance to us, it does not look anything out of the ordinary. I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

iPhone 4 Production Resumed For Select Markets [Report]

iPhone 4 Production Resumed For Select Markets [Report]

This is something quite unusual, Apple normally does not resume production of a product that has been discontinued. The iPhone 4 was quite popular when it came out, but since then it has been succeeded by four different models, and even if some might not consider it to be an outdated product, its safe to say that it has lost its appeal to its younger brethren. A report claims that Foxconn has resumed iPhone 4 production in China as Apple looks to launch the smartphone once again in select markets.
